Absolutely one of, if not, THE FINEST !!, set of harmonies, in the Washington DC Regional Area, and all of America. I was so very fortunate to get to visit, see, and Listen To !!, this great band, in this, the very early, Arlington, VA, Birchmere Bar & Grill in 1979 !! I am forever grateful for being shown about this fine establishment !!!!
Used to go to the Birchmere in Arlington/Alexandria area many years ago and was blessed to see them there. Duffy was a hoot, always made any song so much more. Nobody does it better or ever will. Thank goodness there is some vidoe like this capturing the history.
Great memories of seeing them so many times on that stage. Duffy - I just love hearing that voice. Thanks - make no apologies for the video the audio is just fine.
What a wonderful song. One of my favorites. It brings me back to the times I spent at the Birchmere in the company of musical genius and John's voice. Only he gets this song right.
Takes me back to just about every Thursday evening in high school. Can't even remember how many nights I watched, sang alone and clapped my ass off. Love to see more clips if you can find/ convert.
I might have been attendence! The Birchmere used to have live bluegrass five nights a week...The Seldom Scene every Thursday. Drank many a pitchers of beer in the great establishment.
Well, I do have the "Last Concert" of the Johnson Mountain Boys at Lucketts Virginia sometime in the 90's. Interestingly, the same kid who sat with me in the remote truck and told me who was going to solo next (and was right most of the time) helped me at the Lucketts shoot. Otherwise, that's it for bluegrass. D. Deutsch
And their all gone up to Bluegrass Heaven, While Tom waits to make sure Duffey's got everything just the way he's comfie with the new setting there, before he's gonna let anyone else up there, so Tom, you've always been patient, so you'll have to wait until you hear Duffey call your name, alright ? God's Speed my Ole friend. Allan
No video signal is too bad to enjoy their music! And again, as a video collector myself, I came across worse quality videos. If you have others, I'd love to see them!

Thanks muchly.
Again I am thankful that you could see through a pretty bad video signal to appreciate the essence of the Seldom Scene.
No one can do this one like John. What a treasure you have shared. Thank You!

John Duffy is the greatest. John and Charlie Waller will never die. These people are great.

Great stuff..duffey.
Wow thats so nice!
This was two Birchmere locations ago, off Walter Reed rd in a bombed out old shopping center.
This isn't the Walter Reed location it's the first Mt Vernon Ave location, the stage is too wide and Phil has already replaced John Starling
