Hey mate, I’m running stock intercooler and looking to drop my EGT’s after exhaust upgrade and tune. I’ve noticed you had the forefront top mount upgrade prior to the front mount. Do you reckon this would be enough for what I’m after as I’m not looking to upgrade any more power or is it something that will inevitably end up getting upgraded for a front mount?
Are you able to give us a run down of the mods - you have planned. Turbo swap planned (you mentioned a stage 2 - which company..) power and torque goal in mind...stock injectors or upgraded etc. Thanks in advance
Going to a bigger intercooler pipe route being longer than the top mount. Air taking longer to travel through the pipes. People i see on the fb pages ask that question
@@d22adventures82 where did you purchase your plazaman intercooler from. I may need to do it, I was driving on soft sand (high tide) and my ext gauge was like 500° and melted off my boost reference gauge. So I started driving even harder to make up the loss of manifold pressure and literally blew the top mount intercooler off my engine. Was embarrassing and hilarious at same time. So I'd love to replicate what you did. First by asking for the model number or shop you got your plazaman from Kind regards
Hey bro just purchased the forefront intercooler are they any good or are they crap? My nissan one was leaking like hell man so i thought just get one whats your thoughts? Mad set up by the way lol
Hi, following your build closely - are you concerned that you are going to run into engine troubles (i.e reliablity/stress on the engine) when you fit the bigger turbo. What sort of power can the YD25 handle without building the internals... I've got a d22 with a full exhaust, sw diesel chip, egr delete, snorkel and a boost tee (will fit soon and up the boost a few PSI - have a boost gauge and egr to monitor boost and temps). Besides getting a remap what mods would you recommend to gain a bit more power. I'm looking to get another 20-30 hp out of it
Nah mate not concerned at all. Im not really pushing the engine to the limits. Comes down to maintenance (oil changes), how hard you drive it and the tune. pick a good tuner to remap it a trusted one is key. I wont be pushing more than 20psi thats more than enough for what i do mate. I have seen other d22's yd25 pushing more power than mine and are still cruising along.
I was looking at adding a PWR top mount intercooler and either high flowing the stock turbo or upgrading the turbo then remapping. What turbo would you recommend and do you reckon I would require upgrading the injectors as well. Sorry for all the questions - can't find much info on heavily modded D22s
Depending what you mostly use it for mate a forefront or hpd top mount is a decent upgrade can go pwr also. Injectors i maybe wrong but you might need to go a stand alone ecu hks fcon or uni chip to get the best out of them. But honestly the mods i have done so far are more than enough.. high flow or stage 1 turbo would be good to gain the little extra take off torque, but not 100% needed. Be good doing it all at once but all depends on budget.

Yea mate the top mount will be fine for what your after. Put it on prior to the tune help better with tune also
@@d22adventures82 did you notice much drop in EGT when you went from the stock to the front runner top mount?

Yea mate will do i got afew other mods im doing at the moment first then ill do a run down after them
@@d22adventures82 cheers. Can you let me know which company does a stage 2 turbo.
Atx turbo, mmp turbos and cct turbos are looking at doing one too. Or even upgrade to a d40 high flo turbo ( alittle more involved)
Hey mate did you have to get a tune for the front mount upgrade
Nah mate not as of yet
Any chance you remember where you got the piping and intercooler ?
Sorry for the late reply i got the plazmaman intercooler from golebysparts.com.au and just a local exhaust shop made my pipes
Hi mate, you said no difference to boost of lag.... My question is, without being a smartarse.... Why?

@@d22adventures82 was there a advantage of the front mount over the top?
Yea mate i found egt temps down driving normal and towing down by 100 degrees
Hi mate, did you fit the plazmaman intercooler to the Navara? If so how did it go ?
Yea mate finally did huge difference. Way better flowing although it wasn't the most expensive intercooler was far better then the aeroflow
@@d22adventures82 great to hear thanks for the reply mate.

Yeah lucky I had heaps of cable ties I'm my car at the time

Cheers mate she goes hard.. They are good they do the job well and are a good upgrade well worth it. Seem alot of d22 owners using them with no issues
Cool as mate cheers for the quick reply. Now all i gotta do is wait haha, but job looks sick man

Yea will go hard mate when you get a chip for it or remap
Hey mate I know it’s an old video but any chance you remember how much it cost for the front mount and fitting? Cheers bro
Rough breakdown mate
$200 silicon joiners and clamps
$200 intercooler
$300 - $400 pipework

No dramas mate im upgrading my intercooler to a plazmaman for better flowing. Aeroflow does alright but i wanna get that bit more.
