Yes.
1. Gate/NET qualified hona chahiye.
2. First: IIT/NIT's main written exam dena padega.
3. If you pass written exam .. then interview hoga jisme project/dissertation ke upar and subjects ke basic ke upar questions puche jayenge.
4. Then marks from 10 to B.Tech/Mtech along with written and interview marks add kiya jayega
5. Finally if any faculty find you suitable for the PhD position under him/her then they will take you under them
