During my first Gamma playthrough, I fixed up a K98 to hold me over until I picked up some advanced tools and could fix up a NATO rifle. A few quests into the Clear Sky questline, the merchant at the swamp base has an upgrade kit for the K98 including a variable scope, semi-auto (or maybe just a higher ROF), with the ability to attach a silencer. I genuinely thought I broke the progression after I pulled it out for the first time, and it really did end up being a monster even in Pripyat. When it came time to trade up an M82 I fixed up, I ended up sticking with my little antique-grade rifle, just because of the memories.
I had a similar experience albeit I never saw the upgrade kit, I simply found an upgraded K98 on a mercenary I dealt with for a Duty task. As I was already using the K98 as a "reach out and touch them" weapon, the variable scope on the modernized K98 was a good lure and I finally pushed past the 5 sets of basic tools after having the bad luck of not seeing advanced tools all the way in Yantar, upgrading to advanced tools through this expensive recipe and then splurging on a parts kit to fix up the ejector as between the two K98's I only had one damage ejector to work with. Basically went from semi functional old timer rifle to a monster that rips heads off Mercenaries with ease.
A small thing about the gauss, Clear Sky sells batteries in batches of 32 once your rep is high enough (I think Major). They charge an arm and a leg for them but it’s probably cheaper than hunting for Flashes
Even cheaper is giving your 6 followers all gauss rifles and emptying their clips before giving it to them and the moment they enter combat, they reload 1st and then "ignore enemies" and then you can collect 60 batteries and rinse n repeat as many times as u need :) stash the damn heavy excess batteries away and you're set!
@@FinUgShiet its because NPC's reload their gun regardless if they have the actual ammo for it, you can just give your companions empty gauss rifles and they will reload them to full even though they dont actually have the ammunition necessary to reload
Great video but putting the VSSK in F tier is downright criminal. That beast shoots 12.7mm rounds and is integrally suppressed, that thing deserves a C-tier minimum.
one big difference between SVD and SVU is that the SVU (which is somewhat common among Loners, even Bandits&Renegades) can be fixed up with just a Rifle Repair Kit, meaning only Advanced Tools. The combination of having a variable zoom, semiauto Sniper in a great round like 7,62x54R quite early game is just great. Also it's handier than the SVD-"pike", and imo the supressor makes a difference in GAMMA, allowing for more stealth kills and less inquisitive NPCs investigating audible firefights.
1:34 In standard-issue Anomaly, the Clear Sky trader sells gauss ammo. You can also score ammo for whatever weapons are equipped in slots 2 and 3 by doing Barrier D-FENS missions where you respond to Lukash's distress calls. You'll either have to fight zombified stalkers or Monolith goons. You get a good reward either way, but an even bigger one for fighting Monolith. One of the rewards you get, in either case, is ammo for the weapons you have in slots 2 and 3, so anything goes. If you stash some spare weapons at Freedom HQ, you can periodically get rare and expensive ammo if you want. 12.7x55mm, .338 Lapua, 9x39, gauss, rockets, whatever. Ammo type is whatever's the standard type. For most calibers, that's FMJ. For 9x39, it's SP-5. 1:44 Bolt-action w/iron sights is fun if you like to hunt old-school style. I think of it as being a safari hunter in the Zone, kinda like playing the role of Sir Hammerlock and using a Jakobs rifle. IRL, safari hunters favored either bolt-action or double-barrel rifles (or a double-barrel bolt-action if you could afford one, and yes, that actually existed) and favored iron sights. You only have time to get two shots off anyway, so that's why double rifles were the usual preference for safari-style hunting. Iron sights were preferred over scopes to maintain situational awareness and unobstructed peripheral vision. 1:54 It has a third-tier upgrade that converts it to 7.62x51 AND allows it to use a common type of suppressor. 3:10 Barrett M82 should be in 12.7x99mm (.50 BMG), not 12.7x55mm. I'll never understand how that got mixed up, especially since Anomaly's debug mode lists 12.7x99mm on the ammo roster. You can spawn it, but you can't use it. Oblivion Lost 2010 pulled something like this, but with the Barrett M82 (which you could buy from Barkeep if your rank was good enough) being chambered for 7.62x51mm. I mean, what's the point?! ANYONE who actually wants to use a Barrett M82 wants to use it in .50 BMG, nothing less. If we want .338 Lapua, we'll use the Barrett M98. If Barrett made a rifle in 12.7x55mm, it would be significantly smaller and lighter than the M82. Also, 12.7x55mm is somewhat similar to 9x39mm in the sense that it's designed to be big, heavy, and somewhat slow, allowing for easy sound suppression while maintaining massive knockdown power and good armor penetration. 3:22 Mosin-Nagant. Its heritage is half Russian, half Belgian. The curved-bolt variant would be better. Straight bolt is infantry version. Curved bolt is sniper version. In Oblivion Lost 2010, you could get one of each, the sniper one having an integral scope, a curved bolt and being single-loaded. The infantry one had iron sights, a straight bolt, and was loaded using 5-round stripper clips. The infantry one was more fun to use for all those Sir Hammerlock/Jakobs/safari-style hunting reasons I mentioned earlier. 3:32 Iron sights were good enough for Simo Hayha. 4:17 Does the game classify the SKS as a sniper rifle? Not really sure how it would be classified in modern nomenclature. It's not an assault rifle (unless you converted it to full-auto). It's not a battle rifle (caliber isn't punchy enough). It's not a "high-powered" rifle. It's not really a sniper rifle. It's not a DMR. Shorty versions can be called "carbines," but that's a generic term with a somewhat broad definition. At any rate, the SKS used to be THE budget-priced Eastern Bloc surplus rifle to get yer mitts on in the US back in the day. Nowadays, they're almost collector's items. Original wood stocks are preferred. 4:55 / 7:05 Misclassified. 5:00 The SR-25 accepts an M-203 in Anomaly (presumably also w/Gamma and/or EFP) and a GL5040 in Oblivion Lost 2010. Why mount a grenade launcher on a DMR? Why not?! It's the Zone! In standard-issue Anomaly (not sure if this remains true w/mods), when you aim the M-203 when it's mounted on the SR-25, you get the same amount of zoom that you get with its scope, allowing you to pound enemy forces (or pseudogiants, etc.) into the ground with 40-mils from artillery-like distances. 7:05 Technically a battle rifle. 7:19 Ackchyually, it's a combination muzzle device. It only provides partial suppression, and only when shooting over hilltops, or so I've read (regarding the real one). It also functions as a flash-hider and it might also function as a recoil compensator. But don't quote me on that. I should re-research the SVU and its muzzle device. 7:38 The SVU-A is select-fire, but its full-auto mode is practically useless due to its recoil and low mag capacity. 7:51 The real-world one can accept bigger mags.
"Battle Rifle" is *not* an actual category of gun. It never existed when the guns were planned or manufactured and is only a retronym that some people came up with to classify "high powered" guns from smaller calibers like 5.56. It's so vaguely defined that by all means something like the SR-25 (AR-10 platform in general) is as much of a Battle Rifle as a Scar-H or the SKS or the G3. Which is why nobody really likes the term in the first place.
Considering Gamma follows a linear progression system where historic < army < advanced when it comes to weapons I would have kept this factor into consideration while making the tier list ; sure , some of these rifles are not amazing compared to endgame ones...but how early are they available to you as the player and how do they perform compared to other rifles falling within the same bracket ? How easy are their ammo to find ? Anyhow , always nice to watch other people's opinions about these things , it's fun content .
Yes and how cost effective are they, it is nice to shoot 12.7mm or Lapua but in gamma survivalist once your run out of ammo crafting materials, you either go broke for a few more mags or stash the rifle til you get rich. It is nice to headshot a stalker with a heavy caliber, but quite often it is overkill as it could have been achieved with a cheaper round.
Honestly, the SV98 is up there for me in terms of snipers, even compared to "better" rarer late game ones. 7.62x54 AP has great penetration power, you can upgrade it to have a 12x variable zoom scope, and it only takes army rifle kits making it easy and cheap to repair and maintain. Sure, the SVDs and SVUs also fire the same round and are semi-automatic, but their sights suck ass and they kick like a mule. The SV98 can be gotten a couple of hours into a run with a bit of luck. Even the toughest exo-suit wearing CNPP camping smooth brain having master rank monolith goon is not bouncing off a 7.62x54 AP round to the dome, even more so from across the street. 12.7mm and lapua are overkill 9 times out of 10, or a necessity if you can't hit the broad side of a barn and only land body shots.
You can upgrade sks variants to shoot SVD rounds, at least in GAMMA. Given that it has big mag, sounds cool with a silencer and you only need a historical kit to repair it, I think it deserves to be at least an A tier.
Its a one shot kill for non exoskeleton npcs, extremely accurate and the most supressed sniper in the game, I used to carry the sr 25 (with grenade launcher) but a monolith took it and I never found it again. Vssk over sr 25 any day just for the bullet damage and the accuracy.
If you help Freedom defend the Barrier against Monolith or zombified stalkers when Lukash sends out a distress call, Lukash gives you substantial rewards, including but not limited to ammo for whatever weapons you have on slots 2 and 3. You can use that to score decent amounts of rare and expensive ammo. You always get whatever's the standard ammo type per caliber (for most calibers, it's FMJ). You can get 12.7x55, .338, 9x39, gauss, rockets, anything.
When you are playing with low carry weight the SR25 is indespensible since it can serve close range and sniping roles as well as use grenade launcher as well. The problem with the more powerful rifles is that the ammo is way heavier and 7.62x51 is plenty good enough against everything if you just use the AP variant. I use that for stalkers and then use melee (I pick the mutant hunter and melee defense perks) for most mutants and grenade launcher for the biggies like giants.

I'd like to see you cover a tier list of the SMG to Assault Rifles. In my opinion, those 2 weapon categories are the most competitive in terms of performance. Granted, some of them stand out and can be considered S-tier outright from early to late-game. Would love to hear your thoughts on them.
The mosin is so cursed in gamma, with the PU scope being mounted a couple inches forward from where it would actually be. that's my main gripe as well as some scope reticles being inaccurate a stickler for these things
I was like: nah, sniper rifles are not important, I have an M4A1 Tactical with variable scope that's enough... after rewatching this video, I realized that I have got an S Tier gun from this list, which I completely forgot about!!! I quickly repaired it, and had to try, and I'm totally amazed! It shreds anybody in the head with one shot, with even cheaper ammo. It looks beast, and the canted sight is very useful when You get discovered camping. Yes, You guessed right, it's an SVDS PMC! Thanks for this super useful video again! Keep up the great work, I really appreciate it! You have one everlasting subscriber that's for sure 😊
Honestly I disagree with the vssk being on F tier, considering how powerful the ammo is, sure the capacity isn't that high but so is the case with the historical weaker snipers that are above on the list.
Hi Moxy, first of all, great video as always! Just one of my remarks with the tier list, it's not an inconsistency as you said on the beginning you would be only judging snipers by effectiveness and nothing else, but I think doing that on the tier list could misrepresent some weapons, some weapons there are meant for early or mid game and nothing else, it would be cool to see a tier list taking into account the weapon is meant for the early/mid/late game, but again, you stated the starting point and the tier list is consistent with that. Also, the aim with the SVDS PMC there LMAO
Thank you, It was pretty hard to decide on the method of rating for the snipers as it would be different if I did take into account factors such as availability. If I did then weapons like the SKS would be a lot higher. (Also I was missing on purpose obviously to make the video longer (I suck I know :( ))
The Kar98k in Gamma is mostly meant for mutants nowadays. Works on unarmored stalkers of course, but remains effective for most mutants across the zone.
@@ianfan1420 So you don't have to do the chimera dodge dance for 5 minutes before it dies. Pop 3 HP rounds into its head with the K98k and it goes down. Not bad for a starter weapon.
Idk if it works different in gamma or efp but bolt actions tend to have 10% more damage, the excuse is that because you aren't using the gas of the bullet to cycle the next one it has more power. Doesn't apply to SR-25 tho, that beast has the same damage as an L96 or the remington bolt action that freedom sells for cheap
The SV98 is also in GAMMA. It also has an integrated 6x zoom scope, which can be upgraded to 12x variable zoom. Coupled with the cheap, plentiful and powerful round it shoots and how commonly it seems to drop, it's probably among the best early to mid game snipers in the game. The only other contender for it would be the Remington 700, which suffers from a rarer and more expensive round, and also just being rarer overall since you encounter more WP factions than NATO factions during the early portions of the game, and getting the upgrade kits is borderline impossible early on.
Also, don't the SV98 and SV98 Custom shoot 7.62x54? At least in Anomaly they do? And so, can 1 shot with AP rounds most enemies you might face, except nosorogs and exos? ALSO: The SV98 does have the adjustable sights-upgrade, that let's you zoom in n out as much as u want, so that shouldn't be affecting their ranking...?
i grew to hate the canted sights for a specific reason that im not even sure applies anymore when using the change sight option on a scope that didnt have an alt, itd enter a focus version that cleaned up the sight profile alot and make things easier to spot snipers with canted sights or ones that reverted to irons didnt have that, and were far more annoying to use
@@eyestonedaniel You need to kill high level enemies and hope it drops. There's no upgrade kit for it, but it's honestly not needed. The remington 700 with either of the other two upgrade kits and some AP rounds will cover you for 90% of the fights you'll have in the game. Lapua is overkill and overpriced
you underestimated the SKS tactical, in my opinion. At least in GAMMA, you can swap it to shoot 7,62*54 ammo. You can do so as soon as you reach Zaton (Skadovsk's trader), meaning, you dont necessarily need expert tools, that you would otherwise need to fix up SR25. Compared to SR25, the mag size is same, 7,62x54 swapped SKS will have more damaging rounds, more accuracy stock, will be more reliable, and the only downside is the RoF, which is marginally lowered by 100rpm. With this in mind, i believe SKS should be at A tier, and, in my opinion, personally, I'd rate it S-tier thanks to availability of ammo, cheap maintenance, and overall ease of acquiring and usage

Hello NullMoxy, It's a great video and I appreciate your efforts, I have a question actually, do you know where can I find remington 700 deer hunter kit in anomaly with bas addon, the ammo is kinda cheap and the damage is great, I would definitely like to use it for some long range combat.
My ranking 1# Deer Hunter Lupua .338 one shot Exoskeleton if you head shot them. Problem is finding one 😅 I had 2 on Gamma after over 72 in-game days in the zone By the time you find one you beat the game already
There is new BaS update for Gamma that adds 3 „S” tier sniper rifles: - HK g28 which is very similar with SR25, but in addition has kolimator on the scope what can be very usefull; - 2 new Remingtons models using lapua .338 rounds Acis and McMillan and both can be supressed and look badass! PS: Where Is TRG Sako 42…???! 🤷🏼
Honestly the Mosin is great. If you upgrade it so it can shoot the 7.62x54 "AP" rounds, it's honestly a viable late game weapon that's pretty cheap to maintain and has a plentiful ammo type with lots of variants. I enjoy using it alongside a AS-Val variant. In gamma at least.
Yeah, but there are way too many other rifles that fire 7.62x54 AP and do it way better than the mosin. A lot of them available super early too, like the SV98 and the SKS Tactical. It is fun doinking high level monolith with the garbage rod however
the sr-25 is just too good, super low recoil at 98, high damage at 71, one shot 80% of the enmies in the head and the nato bullet isnt too expensive either(3000rub).
Damn VSSK at F ? its bane of many invictus runs one shot K.O, and hey, about our faction talk in previous video i take back everything I said, mercs are still strongest faction but you need to play as scumbag and also kill neutral stalkers for patches stashes and PDA(clear sky, bandits, eco and freedom also benefit from this playstyle because they are allies with mercs).
The issue with mercs is early game it can be quite tricky trying to get to southern areas as you can't go through Rostok. I also normally avoid killing neutral stalkers as then I start feeling like a monolith soldier 😂.
Another DVL related update... The damage on the Saboteur seems to have been nerfed. Unless there's a hidden addition to damage due to the bullet itself, despite firing .338 Federal, the weapon is weak now with the damage only being 56. So unless I'm mistaken, it is in fact now a piece of crap even with the special version.
The bolt action historical rifles are the worst guns in vanilla anomaly. In my first game I didn't have any addons installed, and in the vanilla animations for the Mosin your character pulls back the bolt with their elbow pointed up in the air, so your arm blocks everything in front of you.
It's quite funny how guns in GAMMA/EFP are sometimes very close one to another. For example upgraded SA-58s rifles are very close to SVDS PMC sniper. They lack in therm of accuracy, but have twice the mag capacity. As the sidenote, i hope someday guys who are working on BaS addon, will add SVDK variant of the Dragunov. It's chembered for 9,3x64mm cartridge. Easly it could replace the Lynx rifle. Another one could be SVDG, experimental 10mm smoothbore Dragunov, that was shooting APFSDS 3mm darts... wasn't adopted, but... someone could put it up to test in the Zone ;). If 98k can in game have it's own proprietary ammo...
If SR-25 is S tier, is SCAR the X tier of snipers? Same caliber, canted sight, can use sniper scopes, nade launcher, faster, bigger mag. Both are built towards sniping and all SR got over the SCAR is recoil control.
It's ridiculous to put the plasma rifle in S, I don't think you can carry 6-7 kilos since the gun consists of batteries, I would put it in B if I were you.
Are the scopes zeroed for a particular range to take into account the bullet drop? There was a fellow in the Misery community named Yargle who calibrated the scopes as an addon so that you could use the stadiometric markings, account for drop and get headshots reliably. Downside being that you could not upgrade velocity and it was less useful with variable zoom scopes. EDIT: Checked the range. 150 meters barely has drop. Have to bring it to about 400m for ~3ft drop with .308.
They're technically not listed as sniper/marksman rifles, they're listed as assault rifles. In reality, many assault rifles can use an 8x zoom scope, have similar range and muzzle velocity stats, are always selective fire, have bigger magazines and have only slightly worse accuracy, so they do the sniper job much better than snipers in the game.
@@nullmoxy Im not sure, but after some balancing of upgrades (at least this is how i remeber it) it turns into smth close to automatic rifle. Btw, this is the whole point of its existense, to be turned into a crappier clone of SR-25 but with realy easy to access ammo. Also you forgot to mention (at least in vanilla anomaly) that SR-25 is the only sniper which can mount uderbarrel grenade launcher, what makes it ultimate lifeform by default.
Uh, I never use snipers. Too heavy to carry, impractical in medium range and the ammo is heavy as well, and expensive. An AK 5C for 5.56mm and AK12 Monolith 1.0 for 5.45mm are good enough for sniping for me, with a 4-8 zoom scopes 🤷🏻♂️
The Sako (Gamma and base version), while extremely rare, is also a solid .338 sniper with a good variable scope. Imo, better than the L96. Slow but powerful. The VSSK is great to replace a Forester or other weak early game sniper. It may only have 5 rounds, but the damage is VERY high - fully capable of one-shotting most enemies. There is also a version of the Barett that shoots the same round. However, I have never actually seen it drop in Gamma. The L96 and some other fixed scopes can be upgraded to be variable.
Sorry, I completly missed the Sako. Seems good with the variable sight, but with 5 round capacity and slow fire rate I would of probably put it into A tier. Also completly forgot the variable sight upgrade which would make some of the fixed zoom snipers more useable. Thank you.
@@nullmoxy I just found a Sako in a Pripyat run 😁 I didn't know what it is, but seemedto be decent, took it anyway. I immediately checked this video, was disappointed that I didn't find it here... but luckily I found this comment, so it must have slipped under the radar.
The 7.92 K98 ammo is the worst sniper rifle ammo in Gamma though. Basic ammo is only BR2, the AP version is only BR4 which is very weak compared to other rifle caliber ( BR3 for basic, BR6 for AP on other calibers). In terms of cost, you pay almost as much as the other superior calibers and need more rounds on target to achieve the same result against heavily armored opponents. Also the reload time on K98 is longer than on many other rifles and its recoil quite significant. It is one if not the worst sniper rifle IMO but very good early game south of the barrier where most enemies are lightly armored. The advantage over other precision rifles is slightly cheaper ammo and very good optics for the Forester version (compared to a Mosin or standard SKS stuck with a PU scope) so you can be clearly more accurate with it which is nice but by the time you have access to the Forester, there are many far better options IMO.
Nah, the K98K is by and large the worst. Terrible scope, terrible round, upgrade kit locked behind supply level. The only thing going for it is using an historical repair kit, but so do the SKS variants which outclass it by a mile and a half. Even the mosin and SKS are better starter options, with a better round on the mosin, a similar round but double the mag size and much higher firerate on the SKS, and a better scope on both. If you've gotten the supply level to 2 on a NATO faction to get the forester, you probably have done enough missions to get a green stash and have some tools, at which point you can repair an SV98, a L96 or a Remington 700, which are fantastic early-mid game snipers that also don't require you to drop 30k on an upgrade kit just to have an usable scope.
I’ll agree with the list just one thing i would change and you forgot to mention is svd lynx and guass have target scope cause of this i will put lynx in s tier simply cause it gives you wallhack
Hey Nullmoxy, can you expand a little on why you only rank the SVU as B-tier? Rapid fire, accurate, hard-hitting and accessible ammo- what's not to love? :) (I just started a new game and found one in *Cordon*. Spent about 25000R getting the bits I need to fix it up.)
@@fjoergyn It can hardly even be considered for sniping IRL either though. At distance you'd be better off using anything else considering how slow and fat 9x39 is. But I guess it depends on what you'd consider a "sniper" since it was meant for stuff like spetsnaz and FSB for relatively close range overwatch. Russians really liked the idea of subsonic armor piercing rounds for CQB around then. Probably because of Chechnya I'm guessing.
In my opinion, the Deer Hunter should be in S tier and so should the M98B aswell. The Deer Hunter when upgraded has a pretty high firerate for a bolt action sniper, and could easily take down a gang with its one shot everywhere any armor capability. The M98B doesnt have such good firerate, but the optic upgrades, and its stats being better compared to the Deer Hunter, it should be in S tier aswell. You could also peek shoot and repeek once the bullet is chambered. With 12.7mm having a BR rating of 75, and the .338 having 140, both of the Deer Hunter and M98B are a really good one shot weapon if you can aim right and have good gamesense. Although, it is true that a sniper rifle is not good for close quarter combat.
Any idea where I can find the SVDS PMC? From which faction it will drop? Cuz I've been killing monolith, sin and unisg guys for days and not a single one appeared. Got several SVDS instead.
@@nullmoxy is there any specific trader that sells it? Or it can only be looted? I met strelok in outskirts and still haven't seen any dvl 10s in any conditions. Running the EFP 4.0 patch 6.1
Totally disagree, I mean you put the SVD in the same Catergory as as the Remington 700.. Remington being a 7.62x51 Bold Action and the SVD is q 7.62x54R qnd Semi Automatic.. and you can switch between scope and Iron Sight, which saved my ass alot when a Mutant got attracted while I was Sniping. I mean they play in very differnt Leagues.
@@nullmoxy it does, atleast in GAMMA, the PSO1 I think it's called with the Eyecup , you can Zoom in and out pretty well. But I think it only fits on the Original SVD with the Wooden Furnish.
What about the kar 98 upgrades if you upgrade it ,it can use 7,62,39 but still deals 59 damage the scope is kinda crap but because it is a cheap round and you can upgrade it without the advanced tools experts tools by the rostaks mechanic that would make this gun the best option for start to mid game
As for me, almost all sniper rifles are useless garbage due to their low damage, you need 3-4 shots to kill common stalker, and up to 10 for heavily armored, even shooting in head, which is something really strange, because 7,62 NATO and soviet are really powerful rifle ammo, and it's very difficult to stop this bullet. In game, only.50 BMG and .338 variants are useful, and SR-25, because of really low recoil after upgrade and autofire.
not the most consize way to choose the tier i reccon... i would suggest ranking it based on ammo availability and power, precision & fire rate. i really feel like you sprinkle some 'cool factor' while choosing where to rank some of those really... not very objectivelly padronized parameters
well of course the SKS is bad as a sniper. cuz it is not a sniper and never was. its an amazing starter/early game weapon until you get some assault rifle.
Since when is the SKS a sniper? I've never seen anyone put it into that category. Ok, I've just finished watching the video. HOW THE HELL IS THE VSSK IN F TIER?? Is that a poor attempt at a joke? "Small mag and bolt action"? So is the Mosin and it's 2 tiers higher. Don't you dare try to pull the "rare and difficult to find ammo" argument, because the AP ammo for the Mosin (i.e. the only redeeming feature of it) is just as difficult to get as the 12,7x55 for the VSSK. You may not like a gun (very likely the VSSK in this case), but throwing something in the garbage only for the reason of not liking it is just plain stupid.

Great video but putting the VSSK in F tier is downright criminal. That beast shoots 12.7mm rounds and is integrally suppressed, that thing deserves a C-tier minimum.
nah man, say that do pseudo giants and other crew of mutants xD
i usually crank up population of mutants sooo 5 bullets in that giant are pebbles

@@faksake1630 Hmm, today I'll shoot a mutant with a slow weapon that shoots premium ammo... *Clueless . Oh god oh fuck its getting closer
this tier list is subjective
Nah. Low rate of fire + low capacity + bullet drop + cumbersome + heavy ammo.
It's really only good if you're on nosorog exo.
one big difference between SVD and SVU is that the SVU (which is somewhat common among Loners, even Bandits&Renegades) can be fixed up with just a Rifle Repair Kit, meaning only Advanced Tools.
Monolith soldier: komandir, we’ve lost a dozen squad in that sector! Should we send another?!
Monolith commander: Yes **Chad face**
I know technically some of the guns aren't snipers but I was purely working of what the game classifies them as.
@@nullmoxy I wish they hadn't misclassified them. It's unfair. Like a welterweight being judged alongside heavyweights.
Yeah but you really need a molot or tactical for the usable scopes, because the PU is borderline unusable past the early game
VSSK is solid C-tier. I would say even B-tier if not the ammo rarity factor. Otherwise i agree.
And to say that for my first GAMMA playthrough, my endgame sniper was the VSSK and I was convinced it was very good because of the price.
Idk about in EFP, but the SR25 can't mount a UBGL in GAMMA. It can in vanilla Anomaly.
Your F tier list is my favourite sniper in the game.

In my opinion, those 2 weapon categories are the most competitive in terms of performance.
Granted, some of them stand out and can be considered S-tier outright from early to late-game.
Would love to hear your thoughts on them.
I may do one on SMGs but there are too many rifles in the game to make an interesting video on.
The mosin is so cursed in gamma, with the PU scope being mounted a couple inches forward from where it would actually be. that's my main gripe as well as some scope reticles being inaccurate a stickler for these things

Why would you anything else but 12GA and .45 HS against mutants?
@@ianfan1420 So you don't have to do the chimera dodge dance for 5 minutes before it dies. Pop 3 HP rounds into its head with the K98k and it goes down. Not bad for a starter weapon.
Idk if it works different in gamma or efp but bolt actions tend to have 10% more damage, the excuse is that because you aren't using the gas of the bullet to cycle the next one it has more power. Doesn't apply to SR-25 tho, that beast has the same damage as an L96 or the remington bolt action that freedom sells for cheap
L96 can be upgraded with a variable zoom scope
Which you can only use if you have a mousewheel. I use a laptop and a trackball (w/max sensitivity), so no mousewheel.
ALSO: The SV98 does have the adjustable sights-upgrade, that let's you zoom in n out as much as u want, so that shouldn't be affecting their ranking...?
you didnt rate the mauser 98k, what tier would you put it?
i grew to hate the canted sights for a specific reason that im not even sure applies anymore
when using the change sight option on a scope that didnt have an alt, itd enter a focus version that cleaned up the sight profile alot and make things easier to spot
snipers with canted sights or ones that reverted to irons didnt have that, and were far more annoying to use
Feel this list is missing the Barrett M98 .338 Lapua slow to reload but hits hard with a nice flat trajectory.
I use the M700 Deer Hunter. It's great suppressed and hits hard with 338 Lapua.
338 Lapua is an extremly strong round.
Where do you find this rifle? Or kit upgrade?
@@eyestonedaniel You need to kill high level enemies and hope it drops. There's no upgrade kit for it, but it's honestly not needed. The remington 700 with either of the other two upgrade kits and some AP rounds will cover you for 90% of the fights you'll have in the game. Lapua is overkill and overpriced
It hurts seeing the SKS being called a sniper rifle.
you underestimated the SKS tactical, in my opinion.

Weird. The DVL says in game that it's lightweight but weighs twice as much as the remington I think?
The Scar H would probably also be S tier, but the game classifies it as an assualt rifle so that is why it wasn't included.
@@nullmoxy Yeah I guess, feels like it deserves a honorable mention at least =)
Sig 550 "Arrow"
& SA 58 OSW
upgraded it to max the bullet velocity and it works great. and also the RD 9x39 VSS works too for stealth.
Isnt SVU alternative upgraded to be able to fire in full auto?
Yes, but the rpm is not worth using in full auto.
@@nullmoxy Im not sure, but after some balancing of upgrades (at least this is how i remeber it) it turns into smth close to automatic rifle. Btw, this is the whole point of its existense, to be turned into a crappier clone of SR-25 but with realy easy to access ammo. Also you forgot to mention (at least in vanilla anomaly) that SR-25 is the only sniper which can mount uderbarrel grenade launcher, what makes it ultimate lifeform by default.
so in this video did you just downloaded the gamma mod or did you use any other addons after the gamma mod?
and this reshade in the video is included in gamma?
In the video you see vanilla GAMMA, apart from some guns which are exclusively from EFP which I point out.
Ey bro, i have a question, where i can get a DVL 10 SABOTEUR? i need to clear out a base but i need a suppresed sniper.
If youre nailing headshots / upperbody with the svd then its s tier forsure.
My all-time fave gun came last. It's the best thing ever in Anomaly. I always take it into the NPP with me.
You forgot the Gewehr 43 Rifle in Anomaly.
Thank you.
@@nullmoxy I just found a Sako in a Pripyat run 😁
I didn't know what it is, but seemedto be decent, took it anyway. I immediately checked this video, was disappointed that I didn't find it here... but luckily I found this comment, so it must have slipped under the radar.
You should do one for assault rifles one day
I probably won't do a rifle tier list as there are too many but I definetly make a video on the best rifles.
Feels like K98 got slightly underatted here and L98 overatted
Other than that, great tier list and actually a really good and helpful breakdown
The pu scope was changes on the mosin and now doesn’t allow you to use iron sights with it on… ):
Shooting M82 standing up with full accuracy? Damn.

What do you think about m700 MOD-X GEN.3?
Its ok, 762x51 is good but not the best

Is there DVL 10 in EFP 4.0? Haven't came across one yet.
It is

@@nullmoxy is there any specific trader that sells it? Or it can only be looted? I met strelok in outskirts and still haven't seen any dvl 10s in any conditions. Running the EFP 4.0 patch 6.1
Looks like the duty, merc, monolith trader will sell it but at high trader levels.
On the svd, is there a way to remove the glow sights?
no
Totally disagree, I mean you put the SVD in the same Catergory as as the Remington 700..
It's mainly due to the scopes. The svd doesn't have a variable scope, but the r700 does so it kinda of balances out.
@@nullmoxy it does, atleast in GAMMA, the PSO1 I think it's called with the Eyecup , you can Zoom in and out pretty well.
But I think it only fits on the Original SVD with the Wooden Furnish.
My bad, maybe the svd should of gone up a tier.
@@nullmoxy thanks for replying and debating it out with me
What about the kar 98 upgrades if you upgrade it ,it can use 7,62,39 but still deals 59 damage the scope is kinda crap but because it is a cheap round and you can upgrade it without the advanced tools experts tools by the rostaks mechanic that would make this gun the best option for start to mid game
vss vintorez my fav ^^
Unfortunately the vss doesn't count as a sniper in the game but it probably should.
between a sr25 and a ash 12.7, what you think could be better, I have both and need a opinion
The ash 12 is probably better as the ammo does more damage, but thats if you can afford the ammo.
@@nullmoxy well I'll go Howa and Ash, I have 240bullets of 12.7 somewhere in stashes. Thank you again for taking the time and answer these questions 👍
Where can I get the SVD?
8mm Mauser should be equal to the Mosin, since both their round are of equivalent.
VSS vintorez?
My Mauser 98k polymer is showing its age past zaton. Just need to fing some expert tools
Where's the WA2000?
Just pulled a dvl10 urbana off a dead freedomer🥳
The sks molot should be S or A tier because of a single fact
It doesnt need expert tools to upgrade, and it can upgrade to 7.62x54 very cheaply
Note: i mean it can upgrade without expert tools from any technician for quite cheap
Where can you get the kit for the R700 Deer Hunter?
Nimble in Zaton I believe.
@@nullmoxy Awesome, Thanks!
Why is the mosin D tier but the vssk F tier
next rifle tier list want!
I probably won't do a rifle tier list as there are too many but I definetly make a video on the best rifles.
Armor list?
Is the green dragon not in the game then?
I think I accidentaly missed it.
IMHO SR25 fits better in AR category. And its ridiculosly OP.
Learning English by your videos😂

My Steyr Scout sure feels like a sniper rifle. Performs better than most of these in fact :D
Make a video about assault rifles please!!!!!!!!!!
If it's a one-shot, it's S
Bro puttig the best sniper in F tier LMAOO
well of course the SKS is bad as a sniper. cuz it is not a sniper and never was. its an amazing starter/early game weapon until you get some assault rifle.
In the game it is categorised as a sniper.
@@nullmoxy Everytime I opened debug or a stat spreadsheet of any kind, it was in the "Rifle" category.
@@nullmoxy I don't want to act like an ahole, but you're kind of just ignoring the rest of the comment...
I didn't ignore it I just had no reply.
Grok said that he will remove
The use of AP ammo on mosin, and now it will use the pp rounds, the ones from the pkm so... xd
Mosin os the best 😂
