  • Hi, I wanted to share with you one of my first improvisation and sequences I came with while trying to tame this growling beast ;)
    Please Subscribe: / @2minutewarning
    I have been playing with it for only a couple of hours, but this Bassline DB-01 (from Erica Synths) is an analog synth that really shines for basslines, drones, FX and even drums and more!
    This little improvised song was done in 3 live takes (that is, one live take for each of the 3 tracks used in this demo).
    * Hardware used *
    - Erica Synths Bassline DB-01 + Eventide H9 Max
    #OneSynthOnly #EricaSynths #BasslineDB01
    I really wanted the raw sound of this synth to be one of the main part of this recording, however in order to add some space and stereo width, I passed the synth though the Eventide H9.
    Hope you'll enjoy the sound and video as much as I enjoyed setting it up :)

    Your dope beats are not going unnoticed. So melodic and those filters are so edgy and detailed at the same time. Cool. Just good craftsmanship.

      Thanks! I must say that I initially liked the industrial and aggressive sounds coming from the DB-01, but as there are already a lot of demos out there showing the indus/techno/TB303-ish side of it, I decided to do something a little bit different. I must say that the Bassline is quite versatile and it only depends on how you want to use it! I find that whatever you do with it, the sound is just great :)

      @@2MinuteWarning Great to hear! But I do like your newer creations aswell😆. I am taking my first steps into the "syntheziser-world". What a djungle! I really like your stuff with the DB-O1, incredible sound. I am trying to take one step at a time, but sometimes it is hard to know what that is...I have a soft heart for Latvia (family) and would love to support Erica Synths. Will visit Riga in later this spring😅. The Vermona Perfourmer also seems like a superb instrument, but I know i should wait a bit with that purchase 🤭. Sorry for spilling my guts 😬

      @@EarlPartridge Hey thanks for your kind words! Nice to hear you are taking the plunge in the "synthesizer-world" (it's a great world, but you can also quite easily get lost with all those instruments, effects, etc.!) Never been to Latvia, but it seems to be a nice country from what I've read!
      Actually the Perfourmer & DB-01 are 2 of my favorite synths ☺ Beautiful and powerful sound!
      As far as I understand, the DB-01 will be your first synth? Maybe a drum machine would be a good companion for a start (it depends which kind of music you are into, for example the Drumbrute Impact is very simple and effective analog drum machine!).
      Feel free to ask if you have any questions for your first steps in the synth-world, I'll be glad to help! 😉

      Hi, thank you very much PaPpEsT! This is the second video I posted when I started the channel last year!
      It's been quite a long time I haven't got some feedback on it, so I'm really glad you liked it and commented (I still really enjoy it personally 😊) I've done nearly 30 "2-minute" videos since then (with different electronic instruments and also the DB-01 Bassline which is quite a unique instrument which I really love!).
      Please do check the other videos here: th-cam.com/channels/LJnOCNxAYLgEeT96STYZAg.html
      Or if you want to check only those featuring the Erica Synths DB-01 Bassline, you can find them here: th-cam.com/video/ZkfSNAGTCdU/w-d-xo.html
      I would really be happy to have some more feedback from you on those videos when you have a couple of minutes to check them out 😉

    • @2MinuteWarning
      @2MinuteWarning  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@damienwebb3689 To get a drone, you must turn the VCA ENV fully clockwise (that will open the VCA) and if you'd like to get the same sound as the in the beginning of the video, you can take a snapshot of the knobs' position, and there you are 😉

    • @2MinuteWarning
      @2MinuteWarning  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! For the clipping noise, do you mean on the overall mix or on the individual instruments (Drone/Bass, Sequence or FX)? In any case, the drive knob was used on each instrument (and yes driving the LFO hard can also sound like a clipping noise, but it wasn't really the case here ;) )

    Hello! Very interesting to know about H9 max is more expensive than H9?

    • @2MinuteWarning
      @2MinuteWarning  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, yes the H9 Max is more expensive that H9 (which has less algorithms). As far as I know, Eventide has discontinued all the H9 pedals, except the H9 Max. So you won't really have the choice if you want to get a new H9, you'd had to go for the H9 Max (which has 52 algorithms).
      You can check for more info here: www.eventideaudio.com/one-h9-rule-them-all
      Hope that will help ;)
