I have 4c hair and I just completed my braided locs yesterday. I'm excited for my journey. I appreciate how real you are in your videos and the motivation and confidence you give.
Congrats!!! 🎈🍾🎉 That’s super exciting! And thank you for the compliment. Let me know how it goes. I’m also here if you have any questions. I may not have all the answers, but I’m here for support :)
I’ll be three years loc’d in February I started with braids and honestly the best decision i every made. Only regret is that I did a few two small and had to combine a few because they where too thin. Other then that I love them
Omg Yassss!! Congrats on making it to 3 years!!! I definitely can relate to doing a few waaaayy too small, lol, but it is what it is. lol. I am soo glad you love your journey! I'm excited to see how long my hair will be at my 3 year mark at the end of this year. Dang. That's crazy!! :)
First of all you are GORGEOUS! Got braidlocs yesterday and found you while looking for what to expect. This is the first video I’ve watched. Can’t wait to see here you are now
Love iiitttt! Thanks for making this video! I started following your journey around your 3months, so I never knew you started out with larger locs. You’re so cute! Love seeing the growth!
First off, your sweet soul is EVERYTHING! Second you are such a braid loc inspiration! I just recently started my micro/small braid loc journey and I’m loving it! Thank you for the video! I would love to follow you on insta!
I was charge 500 dollars to loc my hair I refused and decided to DYI my hair with braids, I thought I was the only one, but thanks for your video....I can braid my have to loc it
I know that the video is old but new subbie here. You are so pretty. I love the pics and the locs. I'm almost 4 months braid loc'd. I like them a lot. Although, I'm mainly still wearing wigs. I'm not used to rocking my real hair without a wig. 😂
I started my 3 year old braid lol journey two months ago, he is a Curley head. I am loving them so far, however it does take patience to see them lol fully down the braid, I’m trying patiently to wait on that.
awww! I am sure he looks sooo cute!! Yeah, with curly haired folks the braids may take a while to turn into locks. If his hair and frizzy and fro-ish, he's good, if not, you may see the braids forever. You can always unravel the braids and do twists. Those seem to do better with curly heads :). I know I am super late, but are the braids beginning to disappear yet?
This is a hard question because all of the locs did their own thang.lol, but I would say after a year, I was officially like okay, I am definitely in there like swimwear! hahaha.
Thank you! and I am soooo glad to hear that you started yours! How is it going? I literally am working on a video to put out tomorrow with how many locs I have. I was too nervous to count them.lol But the answer is coming soon! lol
Christy Joy you’re very welcome!! 😊 it’s going good so far. I like this process much better than I liked the beginning stages when I had traditional locs. I definitely think I may the better decision this time
I'm not sure that there is a way around that. The locs will do whatever they want to do. With time they begin to stretch and not be so tight, but there is no telling how long the process will take for you. All you can do is let your loc babies be free. lol
I wouldn’t suggest starting your locs with large braids unless you have really frizzy hair. The braids will take super long to loc. I still have a couple of locs where you can see the braids and it will be 2 years. I would suggest starting with twists or coils if you want larger locs, however, you know your hair better than I do. It also depends on how large you are going to do them. You can always try it though! And if you don’t like it, you can start them another way. :) You may have to experiment with your hair. I’m sure you’ll still be cute! :)
are you comfortable putting the mic right on your mouth with the music off? It will capture wind in every word you say and the wind will make your voice sound unique.
I got a question... I have braids in rn (got them 3 days ago) and most of them have unraveled about half way almost. should I leave them and let them loc up? or twist them up alil with some gel. I have really soft hair.. (ive had locs before tho)
What worked for you before? That would let you know what the best strategy would be for you and your hair type. But at the end of the day, I think you should do whatever will make you happy! You can definitely leave them and let them be, or twist them. I'm sure you would look great either way!
@@SelfLoveBoost That makes sense! Have you tried starting them from coils?...Your hair may do well that way since it is soft, and you may like how that looks as well.
@@christyeverblooming well... I'm winging it rn lol. Since they started unraveling I've been coiling them back up with my fingers so ima just do that since they starting to loc up alil. I have long hair so it will loc quick I think
This is a hard question to answer because I still have a few locs that still have the braid pattern. Each loc kind of did its own thing on its own time. I am about to be 2 years in and I still have like 4-5 locs that have braided ends.
I'm confused at the moment whether to retwist or not I started with a braided locs January ending tho my hair is kinda short And now we are in March, I don't know if I should retwist or not because am not really seeing much difference from January till now Help please
If your hair doesn't seem to need to be retwisted, then maybe you should give it a bit more time. It will take some time for you to figure out what retwisting schedule works best for you, but you will figure it out.:) There are some folks who get retwists every 6-8 weeks or so and then there are folks who wait longer than that. Each head of hair is different.

I started my braid locs about a week ago.
How's the loc journey going? sorry the late response, but thank you for sharing that you started!! :)
@@christyeverblooming I didnt like the braids I restarted with interlocking and I’m 1 year and 2 months in.
You’re so beautiful 😍 I’m only in week 3 lol
Thank you so much! I'm excited for you!
I didn’t know you could start them with braids
Yeah! If your hair gets frizzy enough, it's a great way to start! :)
In my opinion it’s the style to start with.
LOVED THIS VIDEO SO MUCH!!!!!!!
Thank you sooo much!!!
Dont they take longer to loc and for the patern to disapear ?? Just asking
Hey! Loved video. At what month did your braids start looking more like dreads?
This is a hard question because all of the locs did their own thang.lol, but I would say after a year, I was officially like okay, I am definitely in there like swimwear! hahaha.
I love yours locs. Watching your videos inspired me to start my locs with braids. Do you know how many locs you have?
Thank you! and I am soooo glad to hear that you started yours! How is it going? I literally am working on a video to put out tomorrow with how many locs I have. I was too nervous to count them.lol But the answer is coming soon! lol

Link for that wig please sis, thank you.
You look amazing BTW!!
OMG! I am so sorry for the late response. To be honest, idk where I got that wig from. I'm so sorry. :(.
Question: How do I braid it so it lays flat and not curl up so tightly?
I'm not sure that there is a way around that. The locs will do whatever they want to do. With time they begin to stretch and not be so tight, but there is no telling how long the process will take for you. All you can do is let your loc babies be free. lol

@@cayej Of course. No problem. Anything that I can do to help, I will do! :)
Question: Do BraidLocs have to be started with tiny braids? I have been researching and I can't find any medium sized.
I wouldn’t suggest starting your locs with large braids unless you have really frizzy hair. The braids will take super long to loc. Thank you darling!!! :)
Are planning on pulling it out after a certain period of time??
No, not at all :). I'm going to see how they develop over time.

How long did it take for the braid pattern to disappear?
This is a hard question to answer because I still have a few locs that still have the braid pattern. Each loc kind of did its own thing on its own time. I am about to be 2 years in and I still have like 4-5 locs that have braided ends.
