At the end of this video we see a model of the Laird Super Solution, a Golden Age racer with the drag coefficient of a bag of peanuts, spiraling almost out of sight in a thermal. When the launch of a freeflight plane like this ends with "let's all go way over there and try to find it," you've won the hobby. I glue sticks together sometimes, but this channel shows what it looks like when it's done right. Thank You For Sharing.
Greetings, I’ve missed you! It’s good to see you and your videos back. Lovely models, beautifully photographed, I love to watch them. I hope you’re doing better, after your loss. Take care, have fun, and.... Let’s be careful out there.
Dear Mr Hallman. It is sad to see the Corona-masks, and the needs for it, but such makes no excuse for stop having fun by creations. The need for such is even more important than ever. Life have to go on. I envy your field, but I am also very grateful, for those publications, though we can enjoy it as well. Many thanks! It makes me happy. This genre, is somewhat hazardous, and I feel sorry for the creator of the beautiful Fokker, that disappeared later. Model air-creators have to be most hard-hearted, of all artists, to stand devastating kisses to the earth, as well as Out of sights. Artists of canvas paintings, don't have to worry for crasches, an fly aways, but probably they have their problems anyway. Best wishes from an old Swedish fan.
Thx Brian...that was actually me, as Doug and some others had given up a few minutes earlier, but I had a hunch and went back in for one last try...always a joyful moment to find a ship that deep in the 8'-10' corn! We were whoopin' it up afterwards!
Awesome! Really cool to hear the guy that makes me say, "whoa"!, say, "WHOA"! when the Fokker Universal takes to the sky! Epic! Watching you guys sure does make me miss my modeling mentor, Robert "Bob" Munn, AMA 926, R.I.P.
Thank you for sharing! Perfect with my coffee and 6° temps here in central Wisconsin this morning! I liked em all very much but to be honest the float plane was my favorite from the get go! Perfect form, perfect launch, perfect slow but assertive climb and simply beautiful to watch in everyway! I'm sorry she went OOS. Have you ever got a call from someone that found an errant model in backyard or woods? Thank you so much for sharing this morning! It was a great way to finish my week with a huge smile and memories of stick and tissue models from my distant past! Have a blessed day sir!
these models for me are simply fantastic because they exploit ascension currents and this is the true spirit of flight to see them twirling in the air wooooow
Loved watching this video - great camera work - especially loved seeing the entire flights of each model rather than snippets of models flying - 😃 this video really captures "being" there on such a beautiful day 😍
So impressive. Mr Sand is CERTAINLY a name to watch out for in our future. I note with interest that Tom has fellows in persuit of the Ryan US Mail plane. The Fokker float plane is outstanding. It reminds me of the Castoldi Seaplane somewhat. A great show. I appreciate the dedication and skills you guys show. 👍❤️
des maitres dans cet art de construction ; et un terrain parfait accompagné d une météorologie adéquate ; c'est en outre bien filmé . on ne peut renier la joliesse de ces avions qui retranscrivent autant la beauté des machines volantes .
Great combination of peaceful countryside nature, elegant free flight balsa models, superb skies and appropriate elettronic atmosferic music. Well done!
It's nice to see such a great video from the relatively carefree summer. I miss the common flies. And then the great models and the beautiful sky - wow, thanks for sharing.
Some fantastic flyers ! That Fokker float plane was beautiful work and wow did it fly! The Chambermaid Dime performance was astonishing considering its wing area. Both models must have been extremely light builds.
This was awesome. I really needed this today. What a great bunch of builders. Although, if everyone's planes flew like yours,... would be a two hour video. Sorry guys. Don't take the the wrong way.
Beautiful!! I could watch your videos all day! What state are you in if you don’t mind me asking? I’m in KY and I’m the only one that I found near me that does FF.
Thx. I'm in PA but I mostly fly in Wawayanda, NY...it's between Middletown & Goshen. Well worth the 100 miles from where I live. I usually camp over a couple nights to take in as much as I can. Sunrise & sunset flights etc.
Are your planes scratch built from plans, kits, etc? My local hobby shop just closed after 40 years and local book store doesn't carry anything model airplane related, any suggestions?
Many of my friends and I build from scratch, but kits often make their way onto the building board. Check out the links in my description above. You'll find everything u need to fill most of the void of a lost hobby shop.
Prefect calm and beautiful, wonderfully choreographed video. It is a Treat with the breakfast coffee. Love the end "Yeah, found the plane"
What can I say... kinetic artists showing the most beautiful and carefully curated pieces of art. May the sport live FOREVER!!!

The float plane was stunning
That photo of Doug in the corn after finding the model is priceless!

Beautiful to watch from a very chilly Northern England.
All great flyers! The sprinklers in the background were scary.

What a day, what wonderful planes and flying… BRAVO
What a perfect day. Thanks for reminding me it's not always 5 below with 8" of snow and a 20 kt wind.

You guys have way too much fun! Wonderful set. Did Vance ever find his Fokker?

@@maxfliart Thanks very much for taking the time to reply with great information!
Is there an Avro Type F balsa kit?
None that I know of, but I spotted this older plan on OuterZone. outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=11485
Of coarse the green and yellow plane goes for the corn. Lol
4:57 "Floatplane went OOS later in the summer" - Shouldn't airplanes with so good flight characteristics have a dethermalizer?
5/5
...блаженны моделисты.
...ибо есть у них увлечение.
Спасибо. Я согласен.
フロート機、草原にうまく降りますね、
Fokke,r sweeps!
