Great video! Thanks for providing an example of each new feature, it’s a lot more helpful for a dummy like me compared to just talking about them 😀. Not sure I need a TX-6, but it sure looks fun. Now that I’ve accumulated a few musical devices (OP-Z, OP-1f, and a couple of POs) this is looking a bit more useful. I look forward to any more videos you can make regarding this little device.
Thank you! Yeah just hearing or reading about the features doesn't really make it very clear. It makes even more sense when you get to have your hands on it. But lately I have started using it with my OP-Z and four POs, and clocking them all together, and it's probably my new favorite DAW-less setup. I might make a video showing the workflow of connecting all the different TE devices. I'm still struggling a little bit with connecting the OG OP-1, because there are some overcurrent issues between the TX-6 and the OP-1, but I think I might have a workaround.
@@flundlip That setup sounds real fun! I would love to see a video of it. Sorry to hear about OG OP-1 connectivity issues. Hopeful the workaround is successful. 🤞
Sure! You have to enable midi in, and note in, on the TX-6. Then you have to set the synth setting to "play". And you might have to change the midi channels in the opz. I think maybe by default all the midi is sent to channel one, but you can assign each opz track to a separate channel.
Do the sychronisation functions also work well with other devices? It would be great if you could loop track by track from the USB stick to the different channels and synchronise them without needing the computer..
That would be great. I don't think you can do that yet tho. The audio is saved as one stereo track, so all the channels are being mixed together. You can multitrack in a DAW, but not to the USB stick. But hopefully they'll be able to change that in a firmware update.
Thank you! I'm the same way! It's a big price for a tiny device, so I'm glad you found it helpful. And I do find myself using it more than I expected (especially after the firmware update) so it's actually still growing on me
I bought it thinking it was a 32 bit recorder but when i read the manual it says 24 bit recorder and all my levels clip very easily into the SD card. Bummed.
I have a question : is the TX-6 is able to send each « line » via usb to an ipad , the one with usb c ( pro-air) and so I can use AUM, for some effect and then resend everything to the TX-6 for the output on monitors ?
Hmm... Good question. I would think so. It has the possibility to send audio as 6 stereo channels or 12 mono channels via USB. So you would be able to control each track, and then I think it would just send the audio from the AUM app on the iPad to the master signal. I haven't tried this yet, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
I'm actually not sure if you can change the bitrate when recording into a memory stick. I think you only have control over the sample rate. But hopefully we'll get more options in the next firmware update 😊
In order to make room for the firmware the size was increased by 30%. Jk. But when you account for the high inflation, it is in a sense cheaper now 🙃 Still insanely expensive though
I got an 900 dollar rebate from getting rid of the gear That the TX6 replaced. To some of us with limited desk space or travel, the small size is a feature. The quality of the build and the overall utility you get makes this piece of gear worth its weight in gold.
Sorry about that. Just got back from vacation so just got around to it now. I included the version name in the thumbnail to make it clear which update it is
The little knobs makes mine feel alot bigger. This feature was worth 1200 dollars alone, nevermind the fact that I am now the coolest 30 year old in my online highschool
It's definitely not for everyone, but the price aside, it's a really great device. And the size is actually one of my favorite features since it allows me to just always bring it with me
@@flundlip I’ve seen them for £1049 on the te website for some time now but they are still way expensive. I had a bit of luck on this Thursday just gone, I actually got a brand new te op-1f from pmt for £1195. 😎
Because of this update I took the plunge and bought it and I don’t regret it one bit! ☺️
That's awesome! Congrats!

Can you explain the midi settings for the opz and tx-6.
I cant sequence the tx6 from opz

Hi, is it possible to adjust the recording volume on a USB device (Disk)? If yes, how?
Just adjust the fader of each channel 😉
thank you!
Thank you for watching and commenting! 😊

Is there a way to rename and delete files for recordings on the TX-6?
Wow, this update just made a few other piece of gear in my kit obsolete 😮.
I know, it's insane how much power it packs in such a tiny little thing. At least the obsolete gear might finance some of the cost of this device 😅
Thanks!
So cool your video. Awesome and i love my tx mixer too
Thank you so much! 😊
This was so helpful! I’m fascinated by this device, but don’t want to spend the money w/out knowing allll about it lol

Oh, that's a bummer! Sorry about that. You kinda would expect a new device in this price range to have that 😕

Hi! How can u connect to adat capable device ?
What file system did you formatted the usbc disk to?
I'm getting recording at 24 bit into the SD card via usb. How do i enable recording in 32 bit? Thanks

Did the firmware make it bigger so I can twist the knobs? And btw did the firmware make it cheaper?

@@flundlip Respect 👍🏻 I was just about tp download a new one … just to find out its old one, so its only dissapointment talking.
$1200!!!!!!!?
😂 I know... It's outrageous! 😅
$1,400 once you add taxes and shipping 😅.. no regrets.
