That's very kind of you to say😊, and yes I totally understand what you mean. I'm exactly the same so I give it a go myself and just film the mess I create as I go 😅👍🏻
My passenger door wouldn’t open from the outside for months also. I figured out that when i first unlock the car, i must open the door from the inside and after that it will open every time from the outside. This fixed it for me.
You just have to do the unlocking=>opening from the inside every time the car has been locked. It’s not the most convenient thing to do but it is something 😅
@@NorthCoastWorkshop I don’t mind stretching out a bit. I work heavy hours almost every day and I don’t have the time and energy to do that.. It has it’s plus tho - when I open the door for my wife she thinks it’s kinda romantic 😅
Hi - another great video. My car is just now 3 of 4 doors down, luckily the driver's is okay (he says, touching wood). I have recently discovered the wonders of GT85, a locksmith recommended it over WD40 for our house locks. Would that be a better choice as it's actually more of a lubricant? Thinking it might be better long term?
Hey Ben, cheers for watching! I've never heard of GT85 but sounds promising. As for a substitute for WD-40, I'd probably stick to WD-40 because I know it works every time 😅 but you could definitely trial GT85 for us 😎
It’s a great video Kev , I used your old one to watch as the mrs altea had the rear door problems left it over night and in the morning both worked , I think it’s the original grease inside the module that drys up then the wd40 loosens it all up grand , quick question Kev where can I buy the Cupra front and rear badges for my Leon , I watched your old video but hasn’t the firm who did yours stop doing them unless you got your old ones still you want to sell ? Thanks again you are the best for Leon videos mate 👍🏻👍🏻
Cheers Tim, yeah it is a handy wee fix on these cars 😅 As for the badges, I've got PP3D ones on now, and they are awesome, very professional. I will have a look through my car bits and bobs tomorrow (on Nightshift just now) and see if I kept the ones I used to have fitted (for that video I originally did). If I find them I'll drop u a msg to get them to u. No need for payment, if I did 'hoard' them, I'll be happy for someone to get use from them 😁
@@NorthCoastWorkshop ahh mate thanks a million fingers crossed 🤞, what do you do as a job Kev at night ? I was a mechanic for a few years when I left school but then went onto painting and decorating and maintenance, but still love working on cars thanks again kev
@timpeat286 drop me a DM Tim through one of my socials or email whenever you get a chance, with regards to more info on the badges. I couldn't find my old ones but can discuss options 👍🏻
Nice video, just a question (not relating to doors), how can you fix hatch handle on mk2 leon? It was opening and closing ok, but now it is stuck, and won't open. Maybe some suggestions. Again great video, will be checking if the method works!
Hey, thanks for watching and ur kind words, hopefully it works for u if you are having issues with ur doors 🤞🏻 As for your hatch, it'll be either the micro switch on the inside of the handle that's packed in, or it will be the motor inside the latch (the bit at the edge of the boot lid that grabs onto the looped latch on the edge of the boot opening. I did a video where I had the opposite issue, but there's a diagnosis bit in the vid that might help u decide which one is at fault 👇🏻😊 th-cam.com/video/v9SZMSvt-2M/w-d-xo.html
Cheers mate. Yeah I can look into the issue and try and do some research for a vid. If u have that just now, I've heard missing rear rubber caps sometimes cause it, or if they are fitted, getting the headlights out and drying the insides with a hairdryer can sort it. If it's continually happening there could be a break in the headlight seal (common on these cars) and water is creeping in through it. Hope that helps a bit for just now 👍🏻

I can confirm this works as I've done it to my front passenger door lock a few years ago, and I've not had a problem since.
Yeah it's crazy how long this fix can last for! Has saved me £100 worth of door modules 😅
Mate this channel is just brilliant. You’ve a video on all the things i don’t want to pay my mechanic for lol cheers👍🏻

@@NorthCoastWorkshop Too right! Enough spent on cam chains/ injectors etc as is🤙🏻
Great video. This method works, I watched the earlier version and it solved my issue. Thanks for the videos.
Great to hear mate, thank you 🙏🏻 appreciate you taking the time to comment.

Have you tried this WD-40 method to save you opening it from the inside first? It should fix it for you 👍🏻

😅 brilliant!!! This is definitely better than getting it sorted 👍🏻 "Happy Wife, happy Life" they say!! 😁
Great video, had this issue a while back, this works like a charm. 10/10 😌
So you're one of the 99% gang? 😅 🙏🏻

Appreciated mate! I had to improve on the original 💩 video from 2 years ago 😅

Great video👍 I was wondering if you can make a video on condensated headlights especially on mk2 Leon’s as this seems to be a common issue?

Thanks mate appreciate the advice. I’m taking it to my local garage for them to have a look as Im not the best at taking things apart and back on😂
No problem mate, let me know how it goes 😊👍🏻
