This video has really messed with me lol I am a black girl named Jade who lives in Virginia and I’m currently contemplating what to do next do I want to continue to clock in and clock out in the hopes that’s I’ll make 6 figures and be happy or start trying to make my own path this video pop up at such an insanely perfect time. I asked for a sign and a literally got a video from alternate universe me with one of my favorite people telling me to take the leap
(Sidenote I’m posting this everywhere because I think it’s a insane coincidence that this has happened like I literally had the same hair cut as her last year and very rarely do I meet other brown Jades)
I’m planning on quitting in a month because I’m about to apply for visa and hopefully I get it and go study abroad. Have been dreaming about moving countries for so long) I love to come back to this video every once in a while to remind myself that it’s not that bleak and that living your dream life is very much possible 🤞
I will not aim for a mediocre life anymore. I want to become a boss, like you! Traveling the world, meeting new people...it’s a dream. A dream I will make a reality! I have to keep reminding myself it will NEVER BE JUST EASY. I WILL STRUGGLE AND WHO EVER MAY HAVE A DREAM THAT SEEMS JUST IMPOSSIBLE, MAKE THAT DAMN DREAM A REALITY AND ACCEPT BEING UNCOMFORTABLE!!! I think the need to be good at things is a human thing, but I think it's gotten worse because of how often we see stories like "six year old paints photo-realistic portraits and makes millions." When all we see celebrated are prodigies, it feels like if you're not good at something immediately than there's no point. I think we also tend to see more recognition for some talents than others, even though everyone has talent in something. I'm trying to learn to be ok with not being great at things and to do them anyway, especially with things I enjoy. If you like singing, who cares if you're good or not? Just do it. Just sing because it makes you happy!
Jade told me to “Just keep going!” So that’s what imma be doing (see y’all in 2020) ☺️🙌🏽
I’m 21 trying to become a professional dancer one day and I’m looking to move to New York. This conversation was sooo needed and I love jade. At least once a year since I’ve turned 18 I’ve contemplated giving up but I’ve kept going bc it’s one of the only things that makes me happy and makes me feel like me. Following your dreams is hard asf. imma watch this whenever I got that feeling bc this has so much great advice and jades mindset is so useful to have when your confidence has been shaken and you wanna cry in a ball somewhere
Just do it! While the economy is good and you can find a job in NYC.... Do it!

I'm just now making myself be okay with taking some time out for self care just to chill instead of constantly going and working on my craft every moment I'm awake. It's a relief to hear that I'm not the only one not getting support from close friends and relatives. I'm starting to realize it happens to most creators. I would say it's jealousy, maybe.
Tbh I don't wanna be good at everything... Only the things that I'm really interested in. But even then it's mostly just being good enough to be competent at it and not being like best of the best. I'm not very competitive as you can probably tell 😂

Wow, this video answered all of the questions I had been asking myself for the past week. I'm pretty good at motivating myself but sometimes I just need to hear other people talk about it. I'm at home visiting my mom trying to get some peace from feeling the need to create, create, create. I'm at that stage where there's no going back like it would be an incredible inconvenience. I want to be a professional Dancer and a music artist. The hardest thing about it is yhe competition and trying to stand out. I love doing it and this has been my life long dream. I live in NYC so it's the perfect place to try to build that solid foundation.

ooh girl. When Jade mentioned the lack of support from family and friends, that was a word. I have a youtube channel and I can't get my friends to watch my videos. Even though they say the topics are interesting and they wanna see the content, they won't click. I have TWO friends and TWO relatives that click like and comment regularly. Of my huge as family and my wide social circle, that is like 4 people. PATHETIC! But it took time to recognize that I don't make videos for them. And i'm going to continue to do what i do. Whats mine is mine and it will come to me!
