    • @StumpGrindingCheap
      @StumpGrindingCheap 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@CC-nq7mp it is really hard to get that point across to customers. That's why my company would do a stump that size for maybe $100. It leaves very little room to even believe a customer could do it any cheaper renting. Because those $40,000 machines are about $300 to rent for the day and I'll take two days with that baby machine to do a stump this size.

    • @CC-nq7mp
      @CC-nq7mp 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@StumpGrindingCheap and. What people don’t realize. If a customer rents and grinder and they break a window it’s on them. They pay you and a window gets broken it’s in you. But hey WTF do we know.

    • @StumpGrindingCheap
      @StumpGrindingCheap 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@CC-nq7mp In 18 years I've broke 1 window. Besides, I don't fix anything broken from things outside my control. My contract states this as I also explain this before each job.
      It comes down to either the customer rents a grinder for two days at $500 and break a window or I grind it in 10min for $100 and break a window. In both situations they have to fix the window on their dime but hiring me was $400 cheaper.

    When it comes time to replace the belts you will start to realize taking a few extra mins to grind a stump instead of rushing and stalling the wheel isn’t worth the extra time your saving..I say this from experience

    • @danz0007

    • @Mike-hb4pc
      @Mike-hb4pc 14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Get yourself a Rayco and you won’t have any belts to replace. It’s all hydraulically driven. And personally, I don’t like remote control on stumpers. You can’t variably control the swing speed. If you’re going for time, I’ll beat you every time with a manually controlled stumper. And I might add ,with less damage/stress to the machine.

      @@FROG2000 So your point is that it's cheaper to rent the machine and do it yourself? Big surprise. When you call someone to do it, maybe you should pay him? And maybe you also have to pay for the second machine we see in the background that's collecting the chips, and the guy driving it? Maybe you should pay for the transport of those machines to your property and back? When you removed those 5 stumps, how much time did it take you? Including the time spent finding a rental, doing the paperwork, getting back home with the machine, doing the work, then going back to the place you rented it from, the time cleaning it, etc. I feel like I'm explaining life to a child.

      Any guesses how much it cost to buy that machine? Trailer it out to jobs & set up. The expert to use it & cleanup.
      Then payroll & business taxes. Insurances & maintenance. Trailer it back to shop or next job.
      You obviously oblivious to how much money it takes to float a business? Just be glad those services are offered.
      $400 is way cheaper than digging it up yourself & the bark mulch is reusable in the garden.
