      They work on any car. Most dealerships do the same thing and suck out the oil, not drain it. Only quick lube places usually drain the oil.
      And yes, sucking the oil does get rid of all the stuff that’s settles at the bottom on the pan. Plus when the oil is warm, things are floating around and that’s when you use the suction pump. Don’t do it when the car’s engine is cold.

    To properly check oil by MB- after you put your oil in showing 1/4 up the stick
    1-Get car up to temp- shut car off
    2- set a 13 min timer- when car is turned off
    3- check dip stick after timer is up
    4- add oil till half way on stick repeat step. (13min cool downs)

    Some of the newer Mercedes are being made without dipsticks. How do you extract the oil from the top in this case? Can you go through the opening where the oil cap is?

    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn’t hear about that but I assume it’s the same as my Audi. It doesn’t have a dip stick cause it uses a digital read out but it should still have a hole if you want to buy a dipstick to put in. That’s what I did on my Audi A4. And I can still extract through the hole.
      Through an oil cap is usually not feasible cause it doesn’t go low enough to get out all the old oil. Unless you have a kit that screws onto the oil cap area that sucks the air out and allows for an exchange of fluids.

    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never had a problem. Also, a lot of dealerships use the same suction methods versus draining from the pans. But of course, they have the best suction machines. But even mobile mechanics use a form of a suction as well.

      1.9 Gallons = 7.6 quarts.
      There's other version that have larger capacity but of course, they are more expensive. When I do a larger oil change job, I just extract to the capacity of the extractor...empty the extractor into another container, and then start extracting again. It's no big deal.
