The 2nd Amendment is about the citizens--"state of the nature" by John Locke--having the power--Mao Zedong said that "political power grows out of the barrel of a gun": sounds like a paraphrased of the 2nd Amendment. Any arms--knives, machine guns, or
even cannons is authorized if one can afford it: will be used to defeat the tyrants.

I live in San Antonio, and you are somewhat correct. San Antonio has changed a lot, and not for the better. Crime has increased a lot. River center Mall is not the place to go anymore. That mall has gone down, I won't go there. North star Mall is better, or La Cantera, both have security on premises. Locals do not really visit downtown, there is nothing there but tourists and overpriced restaurants. The Riverwalk is nice, but go during the day, it is geared only for tourist, I don't consider downtown as safe as in the past. Of course, if you NEED to see the Alamo, the Riverwalk, the Tower of Americas, you do have to go downtown. There is a lot more to see and visit in San Antonio than downtown.

I like that. Sort of like the State Laws are overriding the Federal Laws, because the Federal Laws were originally describing things that you can do, (rights) and not things that you cannot do. (controls)
Since the current Federal Laws enable "Federal Home Invasion" (no knock warrants) then Legal Use of Force AGAINST this form of Home Invasion is supported by the Constitution.
Make the Feds think twice before they get into any legal harangles that gets them shot. Each State make its own laws about Constitutional matters, because it seems that the Feds can have their own interpretation of the Constitution, that is not even in alignment with the original intent.
We have a Constitution, and if you (Feds) are going to operate in our State, this will be the "Legal Interpretation" of the Constitution in our State. Irrespective of what you think it is, or the Federal Judiciary. We make the laws in our own State, including Legal Definitions about the Constitution. I like it, the same thing is starting to happen here in Canada, because the Feds need to be "reined in".

I spent hundreds of dollars and drove for an hour to get my CHL, just so I can protect myself. Now I have to make sure it's after 7:25PM on a Thursday afternoon, and the moon has to be a waxing crecent, otherwise, I get charged with murder. This country is wild.

Except if you went to summer school to get a badge - then you'll have qualified immunity.

@ZekeRivers police academy is not summer school lol. I've been to DPSST, and my brother was an officer with Portland Police. The training is very thorough.

@@VortexStolenName 'Very thorough' - but they don't spend any time on the Constitutional rights. Like I said - summer school for delinquents.

This may sound weird, but I attribute my situational awareness to my military career and working in an industrial center.
Sure, being in the Navy and being trained helped immensely, but walking around in shipyards, antenna shops, machine shops or just on the waterfront forces you to keep your head up and eyes open ... getting clocked by a davit swinging off the back of a flatbed will RUIN your weekend plans. Trust me, that lesson sticks with you long after the lump subsides ... lol.
Seriously though, the last thing a criminal wants to see is someone who's alert and aware ... they aren't super-villains, they're predators and someone who's head is on a swivel is usually too much trouble.

It amazes me the amount of people who agree with "you gotta know the laws" and constitutional carry at the same time.

Keep in mind the "Reporters" choose which interviews to air, when they fit their narrative. There were probably 10 Texans that said "I THINK IT WAS BADASS!!"

This is the type of thing those two girls you interviewed need to see. If they had been there, would they have lost their lives because they had no defense and don't want anyone else to have guns either?

I am South African and carried a 9mm semiautomatic pistol from age 23 to 60. I stopped carrying when I moved to Mallorca in Spain. In that time my family was safe.
      I also feel naked now!!!

Good info Colion. Back in May, the actor, Johnny Wactor, was shot and killed 2 blocks from where I live when he walked up on some thugs stealing the catalytic converter from his car. It was 3am, he was walking back to his car after working at a nearby nightclub. Where he parked his car is usually devoid of any human life at that time. It's a street that doesn't lead to a major thoroughfare and all the businesses are closed after dark. He asked the thugs what they were doing and one of them pulled a gun and shot him in the chest. It's a bit of a tough scenario, but being California he wouldn't be CCW so didn't have the gun option. I'm a retired LEO so am CCW. I'd have only said something to the dummies after drawing my pistol, and from a position of cover. Situational awareness, and have a plan, even before something happens. Good advice too about CCW insurance. I have it, with a USCCA competitor, but wouldn't hesitate getting theirs either.
