I love the attention to detail on how the pause menu UI at the very beginning of the game is the same as in Z1 but what’s even more interesting is that you can see how the menu itself is all cracked and rusted and an entire Sub menu is missing, reflecting Zero’s disrepair.
In particular the elf menu is busted and gone. Zero 2 pulled a Metroid and gave an actual reason for you losing all your powers from the previous game.
the mgs series does this too, which is super cool. MGS2 has Snake using a different game over screen extremely similar to that of MGS1, but Raiden has his own. also, MGR has Raiden using MGS4's UI at first, but when he gets his new body, he gets a new one. I live for details like this
Zero 1 is the second hardest game in the series to beat without cyber elves, in my opinion. I've beaten them all on hard mode, so I think my opinion should count for something, at least.
Alternatively, you try to skip them and realize that you actually needed to farm them until he says the dialogue so that you could kill enough enemies to get an A-rank
So, to get the S rank, we need to shoot the enemies until Zero says, "This isn't fun anymore." Next, we jump over to a platform and slice a guy, leap OVER the next guy, turn around and slice him, climb a wall, *whoa what the heck is that?* Jump up, slice the top half, it'll stop, slice the unguarded bit, it dies. If it didn't; slice the top bit again. Dash forward, but holy crap slice the surprise off the side of the screen because we all know that isn't an ambush when we've seen it three to six times now. Great. Mario-Style Platforming, and one of those ambushing spikeweeds is lurking on every platform. Slice carefully not to take damage, and *IT'S YOU!* To get the TIME to its max, you gotta Z-Saber the Golem 4 times in a row. Wait for its attack, and when it *isn't attacking,* go in close and slice it. If you miss, wait for another opportunity, because we've all gotten hasty, and we know that the Golem's hitbox gets bigger for some odd reason when it's attacking. Four slices of nice positioning and good dodging later, you've cut the Golem in effective time. Practically repeat the ENTIRE process, but the platforms are freaking harder than before! Another one?! And there's a HOLE there! Daredevils will wall jump to avoid lasers, otherwise getting those 4 slices is going to be HARD. But you know what? We pulled it off. We gotta jump on crumbling platforms now, and do LEAPING DASH SLASHES to the vultures eating the dead bodies that can still hurt you! Missed one? SLICE IT IN MIDAIR. *AWESOME.* Hey look, a cyber-elf **Slaps self in the face** Gotta go fast. ...Another "!" event. Another Golem? No, it's an army! I CAN TAKE IT! But a giant heated D appears from behind me! It conveniently destroys the army! No Way! An ancient robot! I thought I blew it up five times! No matter, I can take it! When it's D shaped pincer comes off it stops moving... and it has to wait... wait... Where'd the first one come from and where'd it go?!?! UGH! This boss has SO many openings, it's kinda sad. But don't trip up here!! That'd be awful!! ALRIGHT!!! *YEAH!!!* We got the *S-RANK!!* ...That was the introduction stage... L...Like a... tutorial... Oh my g-
AfterYouKnowMe I posted this comment right after an S-Rank run. Mine was an emulator, so I had savestates to quicken the learning/memorization process, but the fact that I could spew out every single thing on the stage made me both sad and amazed. The worst part is; that's only a fourth of the battle, you need the skills to not succumb to any of the said problems.
Zero had many themes over the numereous games he was in, but to me, this is the true theme of Zero. I feel like it just captures who and what he is better than anything else.
This theme is amazing, it somehow manages to convey the unrepaired army killer that Zero is at the moment, while still showing the resilience and determination in those rifts. This along side his idle being the low health slouch and the menu UI being cracked. It all adds up to one of the best intro levels in any game I've seen, you don't have to had played any X games or Zero 1 to understand his character, all from the brief intro scene and level alone.
Capcom and inti creates while making zero games: this is fun! Capcom and inti creates while making ZX games: this isn't fun anymore............................................ *departure starts playing*
After having such a hard time beating the first megaman zero, i wasn't really too excited to start the second one. THIS SONG, however, was all i needed to get pumped up!!
Actually, despit Z1 having a questionable mechanics, it is still a really good game and fun to play for me. The series only gets better except for the last game, Z3>Z2>Z4>Z1 for me.
Mesmo estando cansado ferido e quase sem poder andar direito.... ele conseguiu derrotar várias hordas de phantheons e mais alguns golems na moral o zero é muito foda
Abdiel Ramos No shit. He’s zero. Tbh the only ones who would even stand a chance against him are the Radiant Dawn cast of villains because you need to be blessed by the goddess to hurt them, and Duma because you need Falchion to kill him. And maybe some of the canonically overpowered characters like Eldigan or Lewyn, but nobody from Three Houses.
Actually, Megaman ZX Advent is my favorite Megaman game of all time. I'm not just an angry guy who only likes old things, I promise. In fact, with more thought, I don't feel like the two tracks in question are easy to compare. They both set their tones perfectly, but I feel like this one is intended to convey hopelessly. A feeling of loss, but also numbness to it, like it's been felt for far too long now. Obviously the track from MM2 was as simple as, "Let's rock! Let's get the bad guy! It's been difficult, but of course we're not stopping now!" TL;DR - Both songs are very good, I think, but the tones are too different for them to be compared and just say one's better or worse.
