A great early Def Leppard is “Bringing on the Heartache”.
Off their High-N-Dry album I saw this tour they opened for Ozzy Blizzard of Oz
Absolutely!
Yes, but it must be version 1, for sure. They were soooo young and his voice is fantastic.
High and dry song as well
That's the next one I'd recommend next .
Im so glad i was a young boy in the 80s, it was so magical. The music the videos the movies. No one getting offended, saving your summer job money and going to Sam the record man and buying the newest cassette tape of your favourite bands. I wish this time and place still existed
I completely agree. I miss those times
I was brought up in the age of MTV when they played music videos.
Same here, friend! ❤
From Toronto I'm assuming. I bought this cassette 😅Sam's 😂
🇨🇦👍💯@@RockinMamaT
Shout out to Def Leppard for sticking with Allen after the accident
Def Leppard's second album "High-n-Dry" is a master piece. Start to finish it's such a Phenomenal Record!!!
The first Def Leppard song I ever heard was Let It Go (when High n Dry came out). I can almost remember where I was, and what I was wearing. It is still the best Def Lepard song to me.
Still
My favorite record of their catalog, high and dry
I saw them open for Ozzy Blizzard of Oz while touring for this album. Great show
@@stevenseul361 that was a golder era
This song and "Foolin" made me a Def Leppard fan. A nicely remastered deluxe version of "Pyromania" was released recently that I highly recommend.
There ya go!
Snap
Headphones be damned. The best way to hear this song (and many others like it) is behind the wheel of a late-60's muscle car blasting down the road with the windows down and with no particular place to go. If you know, you know.
yes sir!!!!
With the Alpine head unit and amplifier and JBL T 95 6/9 speakers on the back deck 🤤
Def Leppards Pyromania album was absolutely the blue print for every rock album that was to follow…a masterpiece ✌🏻
This album wasPlayed every lunch hour and after school activity in our school gym throughout my high school years….. imprinted in my brain.🙄
Some said about that album that it was over produced by Mutt Lange but I disagreed.
They certainly cleaned up the whole production of metal/rock music and influenced every British band that followed.
The era of 2nd British Invasion 🇬🇧 the 80s.
This is the Def Leppard I fell in love with. Rock of ages is fire and has to be next. Peace out guys ✌️ ☮️
Their earlier material was much better.
This band is a model of not letting tragedy stop them from being successful. They fired a guitar player, drummer lost his arm and another guitar player passed away but, they keep going.
Don't forget about Rick Savage being diagnosed with Bell's Palsy, Joe Elliott contracting the mumps twice, and Vivian Campbell having some condition, which I don't recall right off hand.
I actually remembered in the Def Leppard episode of "VH1: Behind The Music," they'd interviewed original guitarist Pete Willis, and he'd said that he was initially angry about being ousted from the band, due his alcoholism and that it'd affected his ability to play guitar, over time, he'd realized how badly it had gotten and was grateful that they'd stepped in, otherwise, he'd probably ended up like Steve Clark
Joe Elliot said one of many things he learned from his Favorite Band Mott the Hoople No matter what , carry on. Do not break up. Mott had a great 3 album run and poof. A Wonderful band that time has forgotten. Joe would not let that happen to Def Leppard
@@karlsmith2570 When did that happen with Savage? I haven't heard that.
@@ronaldnelson6692 January 1994
Lo de viv es cáncer 🥺 incluso mutt lange su productor también tubo un accidente automovilístico y Phil es dactonico.
That whole album is fire.
A huge banger from the early 80's. This album was played on the radio when I first started listening as a 13yr.-old.
It's bittersweet to see Rick Allen in his younger days before the loss of his limb. You'll notice that be plays "traditional" grip just like Buddy Rich. That came from the military marching drummers who had to play with their drum at an awkward angle as they marched.
Holy crap. In about three weeks it will have been 41 years since the first time I saw them in concert. This song was huge at the time.
According to an interview with Joe Elliot, he had a huge hole in his bathroom wall and covered it with a poster of Maryln Monroe. He said he was musing about wanting someone that you only had a photograph of. So yes, she was an influence for the song in a sense.
I was about to say the same thing, I also heard him say that Jayne Mansfield was also a similar unattainable icon, who was also a famous actress/model who died young tragically in a car accident, she also could have been an inspiration for this song. I think it was obviously a better choice to feature Marilyn Monroe, such a recognizable icon
Joe said in a concert video that the song was about MM.
With the video and the lyrics, how could anyone say they don’t understand what and who he’s singing about?
This generation seems to constantly say ‘I Don’t Get It’ when Captain Obvious is staring them in the face.
Oh look, an obsessive stalker just killed a Celebrity . . . But what’s it mean, I don’t understand?
…..any track off High n Dry is a banger ! The further you go back…. You will hear their more raw rock tracks 🎸❤️🔥
LOVE Def Leppard!! Yes their earlier stuff was heavier.Pyromania was a GREAT album(still have it btw) Try Rock Of Ages,Too Late For Love, Foolin` , Rock,Rock(Til You Drop) and off the album before this one High`n`Dry has 2 greats Bringin` On The Heartbreak and Let It Go...they are Awesome!
Pour Some Sugar On Me by Def Leppard! 😎🔥🤘🎸
Try "Rock of Ages" off this album also
Hi guys this is from there 3rd album.. Break out album for them
"I need more cowbell!" - Christopher Walken -SNL
Man in the day they were on fire, some of my favourite gigs were Def Leppard. The sound quality was on another level and the foxy ladies in the crowds made teenage boys dreams come true. The World was a happier place back then and it's only really now in the future we realise how good we had it.
They were SOOOOOOO big. Everyone wanted the Union Jack clothing at the time. T-shirts, shorts (like the drummer), hats. If you want something a little heavier from them, check out High and Dry or Rock Rock ('Til You Drop).
This was one of my favorite albums. Had it on my top albums. This was before the drummer lost his arm in a car accident . Then he made a custom drum kit,and they kept him in the group. AWESOME story of how compassionate they are. Hello from Pa USA 🇺🇸 ❤❤❤❤
Def Leppard We're part of an invasion Called
The new wave of british heavy metal
Def Leppard was never "new wave of British heavy metal" or "hair metal they are a rock band listen to interviews with Joe Elliott.

@@jimmy-stourbridge-fc8980 Bro, Google the list. They are third on it Plus a lot of bands I never heard of

"Rock of Ages" is all-world Def Leppard. They were really, really good at awesome catchy metal/rock. They were GOOD.
I miss the 80s!! Class of '89!!🤘🤘
"Animal' from Def Leppard is another great anthem type one from them! You can't help but to rock out.
Huge hit back in the day.
Rock Of Ages by Def Leppard! 😎🔥🤘🎸
This was their breakout video. This was the first time we saw def leppard on video and it was awesome.
These guy's are true legends, I'm happy to finally see them inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame by none other than queen founder brian may, who they have performed with many times, and are great fans. They have crossed genres a bit over the years, and are very 70s influenced , mott the Hoople, t-rex, david bowie, on and on. They've been around since 1977, and have sold over 100 million records. On their 2022 album " diamond star halos " they even do a song with allison krauss, a famous blue grass singer who is a big def leppard fan. It's called "this guitar " not usually a blue grass fan, but it's fantastic, my 82 year old mother is a blue grass fan, and loves her music, i played it to her, she absolutely loved it. I said, "guess who's singing with her? " i finally told her it was def Leppard, she had told me back in 1981 that i was listening to pure filth, it was a pretty nasty song called " let it go" from high and dry. She took the album right off the turntable and never gave it back, it was fortunately for me that i also had the cassette in my car!
Cracking tune. Never gets old! One of the all time best rock/metal tracks of the 80s!
I first heard this song in the 80s when it was first released. I was an instant fan and still am years later.
Lets Get Rocked by Def Leppard! 😎🔥🤘🎸
My fave Def Lep.
Little known fact: this was last time guitarist Phil Colin was seen with a shirt on 😂
Well played, sir.😂
i was 13 when Pyromania came out, and was Instantly hooked. such a great album. Too Late For Love , Foolin, Rock of Ages were my fav 3
I was lucky enough to see this AWESOME band twice. Once in 85, then on 18th bday in 89. They are still AWESOME live!! And are a true ROCK CINDERELLA STORY! What can happen when you love the guys you play with. And Rick Allen is just a Super Hero. I think he rocked harder after accident!!
Early Def Leppard is the best, primarily the first two albums.
I remember when this was the biggest album on the planet what a great time in music, sound track of my youth
"Let it go" from High 'N Dry!
Awesome song! ❤❤ Def Leppard is a great group from the 80’s!!
Thanks guys!!👏👏👏
Let It Go,High & Dry,White Lightning,Billy's Got a Gun,Excited,Slang....All great DL songs
🎉lets go back further High N Dry was their first album to hit in the U.S. Bringing on The Heartbreak& Rock Rock Til You Drop. Both albums were before their drummer had lost his arm. It changed their sound.
12 year old me fell in love with Def Leppard when Pyromania dropped and I then went back to the earlier two albums. Great band. And as luck would have it, I was in the crowd in Denver on the Hysteria tour when they filmed the video for “Pour Some Sugar On Me.” One of the best concerts I ever saw.
Saw them live, decades ago. The setup for the one-armed drummer was fascinating.
This is not metal, this is rock and roll! ❤❤❤
I still love Def Leppard music today, even though it is not as hard hitting as early on. But just look how young they look here. Makes me feel so much older.
Rock of Ages
Bringing on the Heartbreak
Early Def Leppard is still the best. Here is another one to check out.
Def Leppard - "Let It Go" 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I’m so with ya on that one! I was a junior in highs school when this came out,we had the best rock music ever imo.. I still listen to pretty much nothing but 80s rock till today!
The whole High n Dry album is 🔥
Def Leppard great band, Hysteria is a classic album and my favorite by them.
Hey , When Rick Allen Has His Accident and Lost His Arm . He When Thru About A Year Of Depression And The Band Told Him That They Were Not Going to Get Anyone Else and Stood Beside Him ! So He Made Long Recovery and Leaning How To Play The Drums With One Arm! So That When There Drum Sound Turn To The Sound They Have Now
Iconic group, iconic video. Love it! So much happened to me in the 80's. Started high school, ended high school, joined the Navy, went all over the Pacific, and got out of the Navy. Great times!
Always awesome to see Rick Allen with his other arm again. This generation "metal" was a lot different than it is considered now. I think Steve, one of the guitar players has passed and Joe Elliott cannot get his voice that high anymore but what a great band.
Such a good song. With all the musical translations & hooks going on it had to be a hit
This is an absolute banger!! The album Pyromania is an absolute Gem 💎
Rock of ages is their best song by far!!
Let it go is a must!
THEY ARE A FABULOUS BAND IM GOING TO SEE THEM IN AUGUST FOR THE 3RD TIME LOL!!!!
Probably my favorite Leppard song. Pyromania was the soundtrack of my high school years.
Of all the songs in their great catalog of music, this is my favorite.
Just FYI. I have a tbing for drummers& RICK Allen is a beast. The other members of Def Leop said the accident forced Rick to slow his playing!
Pyromania was probably Def Leppard's best album. It really fits the way rock was changing in the early 80's, kind of the forerunner of other groups like Bon Jovi, Poison and others in the mid to late 80's.
As others have said its about wanting something you can't have and you only have a photograph. You could also say its about the danger of being famous and having over zealous fans that border on stalking. This is just after Dorthy Stratten's murder by her jealous husband, and near the time of Dommonique Dunn from the movie Poltergeist murder by a jealous boyfriend and not long before the murder of Rebecca Schafer from the show My Sister Sam.
I know some are after the song came out, just using as a reference.
Its open to interpretation as to which way it is.
Great reaction!
ABSOLUTE BANGER! 🔥
Bringin on the heartbreak/switch 625 is a must listen from Def Leppard. But please listen to them together as they are intended to be listened to.
Yes, the big hit is a natural lead in to that killer instrumental, that two for gives me chills!
“Too late for love” is my favorite.
Animal by Def Leppard! 😎🔥🤘🎸
Not early enough Def Leppard. There are keyboards prominently in the mix, which pushes it softly in the direction of pussified pop music . High N Dry, that’s the album to listen to. THAT is their real rock n roll album. “Let It Go” is a banger.
People assumed it was about Marilyn Monroe.Lead vocalist Joe Elliot described the song as generally about “something you can't ever get your hands on” Pyromania has a lot of great songs on it..First album I bought
Mine as well! Great memories!
In 1983, this was a great concert to go to. I bought one of those British flag t shirts. Notice Rick Allen the drummer had 2 arms. He lost one in 1986 in an automobile roll over accident. From that album do Rock Till You Drop.
I must have played this song over a thousand times back in 83.
Pyromania is there best album for me
High n Dry
@@nedrini1055 good album too but like i say for me it Pyromania , anyway i have them both in LP :)
The good old British Invasion. This is my very first record purchase at 9 yrs old im 51 now & still one of my all time favorites
The only way to hear this is at high volume on a quality car stereo. My favorite Def Leppard song.
How about some Jensen 6x9 Traix speakers. LOL
@@chiefsohcahtoa3285 Back in the day it was all Pioneer. The stock system in my current ride just blows that out---of---the---water.
@@alanflor703 I just picked Jensen because it was a popular brand at that time. Pioneer, Alpine, and JBL were all quality stereos.
My first concert 1983 was the Def.
My favorite DL song. Never get tired of it.
Rick Allen on drums, before the car accident that lost his arm in 1985 at the age of 22. He joined the band at 15 in 1978. Steve Clark wrote most of their music, their rhythm guitarist. He lasted through Hysteria and wrote most of that one too but sadly passed from alcoholism.
Love Bites by Def Leppard! 😎🔥🤘🎸
Just a bit popular when it was released 😆
This is my favorite Def Leppard song. “Pyromania” came out my freshman year in college so we listened to it nonstop. It’s a great album. “Rock of Ages” must be next!
Great song from a great album. There is no doubt in my mind that this is their signature song! Nothing beats it!
I was a Duranie then, and even I had Pyromania!!! ❤
My teenage moment...Timeless.!
By the way Def Leop, Pat Benatar ect saved MTV it almost went off the air after it started, also MJ was the first black artist featured paving the way for so many others.
This is the song that got me into rock. I was ten. This was my first album.
I've been a fan for decades and this also is my favorite. Great video for the time too.
How has someone not heard Def Leppard ....
Oh my..takes me right back!
My 1st “grown” concert in the 80’s. My sist r took me and I’m still not sure why my mom let that happened. I was 15 and this was a lot with all the drinks my sister and her friends gave me in the back of a 1978 Thunderbird. It was amazing though.
all time classic!
Great song and reaction. Hysteria is my favorite of theirs,,,,💥💥💥🤘😎
This was a song from before the drummer's car accident. The band gave him time to learn how to play drums with one arm. Cool!!!
Here's one that not too many have requested from these guys: "Two Steps Behind." Completely different from their normal. Excellent song.
This song is the beginning of the end for them as a rock band
This was a time when Def Leppard had more arms. than in later albums.
Saw them on the Pyromania Tour in Germany Oct of 1983. Awesome show.
Saw that tour in Springfield MA, they headlined over Gary Moore and Krokus, killer show!
An all female band called Rock Goddess opened for them at my show.
My most favorite song from DL EVER!!!!!
Next up - Stage Fright and Die Heart The Hunter!!
The song is about the lovely Marily Monroe!
a lot of the credit for Def Leppard's success is producer Mutt Lange. He is genius at crafting rock anthems.
He had map that lead them to the gold
YEAH !!
This decade Steve Clark was with the band ( the guy doing the guitar solo in the vid) and was a driving force of the heavier sound.. He died at 30 yrs old of an overdose. Also the drummer still had both arms here in the video and lost one not long after, hence today plays for the band with one arm.
My favorite song from that album was Comin' Under Fire. That's an earworm for sure.
Their anthem song from this album is Rock of Ages. Also, go even earlier with their High and Dry Album with " Let it go"
