I find tossing lures that give a wide wobble irritate the fish causing them to chase and trigger a aggression strike.

I used one of my original Rapala floater and it ended up being destroyed after few fish. It was one of the older model when it used to be made with wood.
Yes, they will strike at your lure.
I feel like too many people in the community think it's okay to just drag lures in front of fish in the rapids and then "accidentally" foul hook one. it's unfortunate

Rick Fascinato so much fun. Just make sure you don't set the hook when you run a salmon over. You can tell right away when it's a bite over a bump over a fishs back

What size mono you use, line to line or swivel? Do you use Scent? K9 Colors you find work best?
Fxn2gofishn I think I was using 15lb braid with a fluro leader. I like throwing the k9, it feels like I have enough weight to cast them. My fav colour was the firetiger and then silver with green UV.

Muda98 give it a try. Look for the males that are aggressively chasing each other and biting tales. I find those are the ones that are more likely to strike

I hate when people say salmon don't bite in rivers, the majority of them do no doubt, at some points they dont but they have to eat something, the reason they run into rivers is cause baitfish get pushed into the mouth of rivers around fall time leading them into the rivers where they have to go anyways to spawn. Sometimes they dont bite when they are spawning but there is no doubt that these fish bite in rivers.
Salmon bite from aggression not eating salmon don't eat when they spawn but yes they do bite but only for aggression
They bite out of aggression not hunger once they enter anon salty water they cease to eat, they exist off of their fat that is why they loose weight in rivers but yes they bite lots of things out of aggression in spawning waters....and it is fun!!!!

accidentally snagged one a few weeks ago, it sucked. felt like shit about it but I couldn't break off because the line was strong. luckily ended up getting it in and releasing succesfullly. wont be happening again

of course they bite in rivers. why wouldn't they? I hear people say that all the time. clearly they are people who have never fished them in rivers, or people who rely on flossing them, which seems to be epidemic these days.
