  • After having my Pair glasses for almost two years, here are my impressions and advice from my eye doctor.
    If you would like to purchase your own Pair, there’s a link below to a discount code. It gives you $25 off your purchase of $60 or more (and gives me a discount as well!)

    I have progressives with changes for astigmatism. I took them to my eye doctor who said it was as perfect as could ever be expected.
    He said that in his practice he's had several people use them - and they have only had an issue with one pair not having the correct prescription (the one pair he found was bifocal not progressives).

    You have completely answered my question! I was wondering about this very thing because I was considering ordering some frames and toppers since I have already ordered the lenses (special prescription).

    Thank you so much for mentioning that.
    I have multifocals and was wondering how precise they’d be with matching the exact places that each focal length needs to be, and/or how good I would be at measuring it correctly if it was up to me to do so.
    I reckon maybe I’ll order the frames (or perhaps non-prescription lenses in them, as they don’t seem to have an option to order absolutely empty frames) and then get my optometrist to make the lenses and fit them.

    I’ve had mine for about 3 months and I think they’re amazing. The only thing is when I get a new pair of toppers, I have to bend them so they fit my frames. I dont know if it’s the frame shape or not. But I have the “Otis” frames.

    Thanks Kay! I’m due for an eye checkup and was considering getting my glasses from Pair! I have trifocals and was concerned about how that would work. I’ll check with my eye doctor’s office about bringing my own frames!

      Definitely check with your eye doctor. Mine was fine with using my Pair frames.

      I have had no problems with my progressives - and my eye doctor stated that he's not finding extensive problems with them in his practice. He does recommend *any* mail order glasses be double checked at the eye doctor because mistakes can happen at any level. There are even times they have to send glasses back before they provide them to patients because the script is slightly off.

    Thank you so much for your review. It is so hard to find authentic reviews on pair eyewear , especially from people who have bifocals or progressives. I am going to do exactly what you suggested because I wear progressives but love the idea of pair eyewear. Thank you!

    I don’t quite follow. I mean it sounded like you went back to your regular doctor when it was time for a new eye exam. So it would stand to reason that your vision may have changed since you originally got the glasses. So what was his actual reason for the suggestion? If pair eyewear has trained professionals just as his office does, what is the difference?

      My prescription had only changed slightly and my eye doctor wasn’t recommending changing my previous glasses. He said that online eye glasses are made in batches and while they might be close, they are rarely as good as custom ones from a personal fitting. I have bifocals and my eye doctor measures my line of vision so that the near/far correction is in the right place. He said that for a single vision prescription, the online glasses should be fine.

      She has a good point. The only reason eye doctors don't like it is because they can't sell you their expensive lenses and frames. I spent $300 JUST for progressive lenses on my last visit and that is with insurance! I even used old frames! For that price Pair can give you frames, lenses, blue light, and even sone toppers! Now to be fair that was single distance (I ended up hating progressives) but you can see the price difference.

    i have a question, you advised order them empty? and bring to your eye doctor.... or jut get clear non prescription lenses in the frame and let them change them out.....

    • @BedeSisters
      @BedeSisters  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You should be able to order the frames without lenses at all, although non-prescription lenses would work too. My eye doctor had no problem replacing my lenses when I needed a new prescription.
