Owned Glocks for 30 years & didn't rush out to get a 19X but saw one for sale about 3 months ago for $588 before taxes so I had to get one . My only regret is not getting 2 of them.

Love my 19x, kept it stock and I have 0 complaints…. I’ve put 5k through her of all types of ammo and I’ve had 0 issues. Reloads, handloads, steel, nickel, 100gr to 147 gr, +p, jhp, fmj of all types not one issue. I’ve shot it covered in mud, sand and dirt. Did the submersion test without any issues. I can carry her concealed or not. Love the way it feels and shoots. Great video. I personally love your in depth explanation that’s based on empirical evidence. You show the breakdown and explain everything. Keep up the videos brother.

Out of my Hk VP9, P320RX, Glock 17 Gen 5, Hk USP 45 and the CZ P-09, my 19X is by far my favorite to shoot.
It's a proven gun with everything sorted out. The gun is cheap, the mags are cheap, upgraded sights are cheap. It's a got a dual recoil spring which is a common upgrade for some competition guns. It shoots super flat, the reset is solid. Most other guns silently reset and you can't really fee the reset.
I see why Glock is the most popular sidearm chosen by many.

Niiiiiice, dual springs, so that's why it looks so slick on reset..!

    It's march, 2023
    I just purchased a glock 19x brand new for $ 519.00
Ya just can't beat that. I had one malfunction, failure to feed, with the very first magazine I ran through it. 124gr blazer brass. Ran it some more and no problems. Very nice shooter, very low recoil 👍

I’ve owned a bunch of glocks and never got excited by any of them except for the raw function. On a whim I picked up a 19x and I’m extremely impressed. Really a fine combat sidearm, nice grip, trigger , ergonomics, sights, awesome finish. I thought my p320 had a good trigger but the Glock outclasses is every way. So for me, it took 30 years but this is my perfect Glock.

    • @oleboy7615
      @oleboy7615 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

The P320 has a decent trigger. The trouble is, as the Army has learned the hard way (but they did it to themselves), is that they splinter with real, hard use. There have been a host of other issues to boot, and not just with the P320. It’s a Sig issue.

Ive carried a hangun for 30 years professionally and personally. Ive owned and carried sigs, berettas, colts, smiths, rugers, etc. The 19x is my favorite and i carry it daily. I believe its one of the finest pistols ever made. Simple, durable, reliable, accurate, easy to shoot, lightweight, easy to maintain, holds alot of ammo, low bore axis, and fits a majority of peoples hands. What more can you ask for?

I love your channel. I learn so much about the history of guns and why some are better or worse than others. I recently purchased a 19X because of your review and a few others. It felt great at the store. Better than a regular 19. I have several Glocks and this is by far my favorite. I believe it shoots a lot better than my Gen5 34. At least it does for me. The trigger on my 19X is pretty awesome for a Glock trigger. So thank you so much for your review. So far 300 rounds and no problems.

I agree with what you said about the MHS/XM 17 trials, but I would add that SIG has some responsibility here.
I'm not a Glock lover and SIG basher (I carry a G26 and a SIG P229), but in my opinion there had to have been an "understanding" between SIG and the Army for whatever reason (maybe it's a holdover from the Beretta-SIG competition in the 1980s; who knows?).
Regardless of the reason, it's too much of a coincidence that the RFP-which was so specific in every other testing procedure-failed to include the normal "rough handling" testing protocols the Army normally uses for rifles, shotguns, AND pistols.
Had the Army used them, surely they would have uncovered the unintentional discharges earlier during the trials (and not after, which is allegedly the story).
Someone please explain to me why the Army would decide not to put the XM17 competition through the paces of the "rough handling" procedures normally used!
I think they knew there was a problem with the pistol long before the RFP was completed. In other words, it may have already been decided that SIG was to be the winner before the trials started, and that's why the rough handling procedures were left out of the RFP, and that is also why the testing was halted prematurely.
Let's remember, this was a special kind of contract that did NOT require the lowest bidder. In fact, price was specifically NOT to be the deciding factor as the mission was allegedly to get the best pistol for our troops.
Given the plethora of TH-cam videos showing malfunctions of various types over the last few years, and taking into account Glocks industry-leading reputation for reliability over the last 30 years, there is no question the Army selected the inferior pistol, and there was no question they would have gone into this competition knowing the onus was on SIG to prove to be as good as a Glock (because the track record since its release said otherwise). If anyone doubts this, watch the dozens and dozens of youtube videos where people's P320's were having malfunctions long before the MHS competition. Then watch all the ones immediately following the announcement of SIG's competition win when the pistol was clearly demonstratd to fire when dropped-not by one-but at least two angles.
Moreover, neither the XM17 or the P320 are the same pistols that existed before and during the trials. The new ones have a disconnector (th-cam.com/video/5fZfjuBC2wM/w-d-xo.htmlm35s), and despite what SIG claims, this was put there for added drop safety (it ensures the sear and trigger bar are not connected when the slide is in its rearward position).
More important, how many lies did we hear from the time of the CT police officer shooting himself when his holstered pistol hit the floor up to now? First SIG denied it, later they said it just needed a heavier trigger, and then we saw the whole redesign (not to mention the false rumors about the competition itself).
The SIG P320/XM17 was a stupid design to begin with. There is a reason virtually every striker-fired pistol has a bladed or hinged safety. The ones that don't typically have a manual safety (e.g. Walther CCP).
I also think I understand why they did it. SIG was trying to be as competitive as possible with the Walther PPQ's trigger (like everyone else), and they felt they needed to bypass the trigger safety to do that in my opinion.
Now that they've changed the trigger and many are claiming it's not quite as good as the original, it really seems to be the logical reason. I'm sure the Army had confidence that, despite SIG's problems with the platform, they'd get it straightened out before anyone was the wiser. The problem was that the police officer proved the gun was not drop safe, and everything became transparent after that. All you need to do is read the RFP, read the military's "rough handling" procedure found in a number of documents, Glocks response, the GAO's pathetic response to Glocks's letter, and follow the storyline about what happened.

Awesome pistol. I don't know what Glock did. But, they came up with a real winner here. Don't let the "it's a Glock" reviews fool you.It points, it's accurate and has very smooth recoil. I shoot 2k plus rounds a month and buy at least one pistol a month. I have no brand loyalty. I call a spade a spade. It isn't only my favorite Glock, but one of my favorite handguns.

Maybe one more difference besides the missing manual safety: I am under the impression that the MH program required the guns to have a place to mount a Leupold optic. As far as I can tell, the 19x is not available with an optics cutout.

    • @hoffmiermp
      @hoffmiermp 3 ปีที่แล้ว

I have 5,000+ rounds through my 19x (mostly Federal 115 grain) and I do love the pistol. However... there was a break in period.. I lubed the handgun out of the box and took it shooting the same day. I had many failures the first range trip. It would jam about every 6 rounds. That being said now that I have much more trigger time with it, it has worn in well. I have a comparable amount of rounds through my Gen 4 19 and I can say without a doubt the 19x wares much more so than prior glocks. I clean my pistols after every range trip and my 19x has A LOT of ware on the barrel and slide.

Probably price was the issue. I seen a video of soldiers getting their new out of the box Sigs. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. The soldiers didn’t even know what they were doing. They acted like they hadn’t ever handled a pistol. I thought you kidding me. So that brings me to not trust military decisions sometimes. Glocks are simple and they just work. And that’s what Mr. Glock and his team were trying to make. Enough said

To those of you who have argued with Chris Bartocci... Do you know who you're talking to?! This guy is as legit as they come, and you have the sheer audacity to call him a liar? Do you know anything about him? Have you watched/read any of his material? Obviously not, because if I had to describe Chris in one word, "genuine" is the one that comes to mind. Now, he might say things that you don't like, but there's an enormous difference between that and being disingenuous. For God's sake, stop this needless negativity. Instead, try going outside and making our world a better place. We, as law-abiding, gun-owning Americans, have no shortage of actual hills to climb. In conclusion, Chris is not your enemy, so I ask you to use your time and energy in a more productive and positive manner. Thank you, and may God bless the United States of America.

I'm not going to say that the P320 is a bad gun, because it's not. I've owned one, and it seem to function just fine. It's just not proven, because the Army literally didn't test it. But the true irony is that the whole "modular" feature isn't really going to be used anyway. The military version has anti-tamper pins, and it's not like they're going to hand out extra grip frames to anyone anyway. If they had gone with the Glock, or anything with removal back straps, it probably would have gotten _more_ modularity, since those things are much easier to change and much cheaper to get a set for literally every soldier.

Forum and Brim no, this is how Sig will make their money they lost on the government contract. $200 something to the govt, $700 for a quasy M17 and $1600 for the real deal marketed as a M17 commemorative.

Even though you can also remove the trigger mechanism in the Glock 19X and place it into a new polymer frame, which is one of the aspects of modularity - this operation is far more complex and long than the same process on Sig P320. Sure Glock 19X is far more tested and reliable handgun as Beretta M9A1 but this is not the point. The Army wanted to have an ultra-modular, light and ... simple to manipulate gun especially under field conditions when the exchange of for instance a broken frame should take no tools and extremely little time. Yes, Sig P320 has issues but they can be removed by a tight cooperation between the army and Sig engineers. Once done this will be a LEGO-type of a gun - a concept in all kind of engineering, which is the future and the way to go.

I don’t own one of these models, but I’ve shot them. Performed as expected. The P320 is junk! Sig outsources their MIM parts and there is poor QC at best. I’ve heard horror stories galore about the guns and won’t touch them. Sig is pathetic.

Sorry but Sig has 17 rounds just like the Glock and you can pop a 21 round magazine in. And you can bump it down to 15. It’s hard to argue against Sig because the 320 is such a great all around gun.

The ONLY thing on earth I'm less interested in than the royal family is taking the upper from one model of a ho-hum, way-overpriced pistol, mating it to the lower of a different model of a ho-hum, way-overpriced pistol, then jacking up the price $150.

I was liking this video. Until you said you had several hundred or a thousand rounds through that 19x. That's never been fired more than one or two times at the factory. :/ Look at ALL the wear points. Their almost completely unmarked. Even racking the run by hand several times will mark the parts. But a gun with even 100 rounds through it doesn't look like that.
