33/33. Easy quiz when you've been a fan of them since 2007 haha. Went on countless marathons listening to their whole discography all the time when I was a teenager. Still do at 27 years old. I feel like Load and Reload should be put together since it's really one long album split into 2 parts. Other then that every album has a very distinct tone and sound (especially St. Anger and AJFA) although I sometimes mistaken MoP and RTL tone as well as DM and HTSD.
I could tell what was from 72 Seasons not because i actually know the songs, but because i know they aren't from any of the other records. I've listened to 72 Seasons three or four times, and that was enough for me. The album bores me to tears.
Kill 'Em All - Raw guitar tone and vocals. Ride The Lightning - Unique tone, vocals sound more better. Master Of Puppets - Same formula as previous but more polished sound. ...And Justice For All - The lack of bass gives it a unique sound. Black album - Focus is more on groove than aggressive playing. Load - More blues/southern influenced playing (except for "Wasting My Hate") ReLoad - More old school hard rock touch in songs. St. Anger - The "odd" snare sound makes it more notable. Death Magnetic - The snare sound is as noticable as in the previous album but way more smooth and polished Hardwired/72 Seasons - Actually hard to differentiate but the band is basically HEAVY metal with Thrash roots, in these albums.

@@fabioperbellini3470 uhm, okay - Because while I thoroughly enjoy their earlier stuff, which is what got me into them, with Load & Reload I got to hear the band 'Metallica-ize' the hard rock genre and make it sound simultaneously heavier, bluesier, grungier and louder while still sounding like Metallica, sounding great - it just wasn't thrash. Granted they looked a bit different, but their 80's look really was WAY out of date for everyone, not just rock stars.
