don't feel bad I only guessed about 4.....I was hoping for some Joan Jett or groups like that..
most of the groups they played.. make songs that sound like they want to destroy things....
I lost count, but at the beginning I had 8 right, and after the 90’s I had almost all of them right :)
I had the opposite result. I had almost all of them right until I hit the 90's and everything went downhill from there.

@@futuramabender2078 i actually knew them personally (long ago). I would place Shinedown in the world of modern rock/pop. They can get loud, but they’re not metal. I have 3 of their albums (Planet Zero, Sound of Madness and Leave a Whisper) which are VERY good. I’ve seen them many times back in the early days, as I worked with their A&R guy Steve Robertson at Atlantic. I took Brent and Jasin on a promo tour like 20 years ago. Fun times!

I'm born 1963 and I managed to get 26 bands correct of those 54 (48%) and 17 of those correct band and song (31%): Major part from the 70s and 80s. I got 9/10 in the 70s, 8/10 in the 80s, 4/10 in the 90s, 2/10 in the 2000s, 2/10 in the 2010s and 1/4 in the 2020s.
Some i needed like 10 seconds, 6 was too fkn short. And others i knew the band but not the song. 🤔 Also would have picked a few different ones here & there, but the test was fun.🤘🏼

Excellent examples till 1993. It seems that in 1994 your metal turned into rap, and about 2000 it became alternative rock.

22/54 I did terrible, but that's because Metal isn't really my genre. I kind of thought I'd do good on the 80's with the hair/glam bands, but it turns out my best was 2000's and 2010's. Am kind of surprised no AC/DC or KISS. Also, a little surprised Skillet wasn't on here for late 2000's and through the 2010's.
AC/DC and Kiss are not metal bands.
@@metalzonemt-2 AC/DC is more Hard Rock, but back in the 70's that was considered Metal. KISS has been considered as hair metal, but again to me they're Hard Rock.

Unlike the 1975 to 2023 quiz, I eas at least able to accurately identify some of the newer bands after 1993, and in a few cases I actually liked the songs from there on. Maybe I'm not as much of an old curmudgeon as I thought.

Black Sabbath, but no Deep Purple, Aerosmith, Hawkwind, Uriah Heep, Budgie in the early stuff...sooo much Metallica, S.O.A.D. and Rammstein. Where was Accept, Scorpions, Helloween, WASP, Slayer, Trivium, Gamma Ray, Danzig, Korn, Alice in Chains, Testament, Dream Theatre, Bullet FMV, Black Label Society and soooo many more....c'mon man...do some work....there's enough bands with famous songs to do a different one for every year without repeats.
