    The "Para Eq" IS a parametric eq. I use it all the time as well as the Kill Eq. However, I think many people are wanting a graphic eq. I think the two eqs that are currently available, are powerful enough to do whatever you need it to do. I agree, the inclusion of a spectrum analyzer would be nice to have as an addition.

    The argument against a graphic EQ on the MPC is just not going to cut it IMO. If you can render complex soundwaves on an MPC then you can for sure render a simpel graphic EQ. Nobody is expecting Fabfilter-level advanced UI stuff here running 24 EQ bands, just a simple 4 band will do. Most people would already be happy with a simplified version of Ableton's graphic EQ. And the same goes for a spectral analyzer, just keep it simple. Because if your ambition is to make a true DAW-in-a-box then these tools are basically essential.

    • @AveMcree
      @AveMcree  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Then you can use the EQ that’s available

    • @Drrolfski
      @Drrolfski 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@AveMcree Then you're obviously missing the point of why people want a graphic EQ in the first place. Hint: it's not having tons of bands or any other advanced Pro Q features. It's just to better see what they're doing and to make better and more precise adjustments as a result. A multi-knob interface is just horrible for that. Heck, even something simple like an improved adaptation of the Program Edit's current Envelope GUI would already go a long way to fulfill this basic visual EQ adjustment need.

      Bro, having a spectrum analyzer on these current mpcs is a no go. Spectrum analyzers can be extremely cpu intensive. Spectrum analyzer are literally giving “realtime” updates of what’s going at every frequency in your mix from 0-20khz. That’s a lot to ask from these mpcs with old low powered processors, while still expecting it to play your beat without clicks and pops.

    • @DirtyRed
      @DirtyRed 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Okay so why complain go make your music in another daw or better yet you create and code a standalone production device that has it. IJS bruh cause all that complaining when this is made for the person who doesn't want to be tethered to a computer and you can easily go get you a macbook and make beats using the MPC Software then add your third party plugins there. You complaining about some thats a mute point bruh cause with what they've given us you should be grateful.

    • @Drrolfski
      @Drrolfski 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@brianpinkins6218 A spectrum analyzer would probably indeed be more CPU intensive than a plain graphic EQ. I doubt it would be as expensive as other CPU intensive processes though like stem separation, time stretching, or some of the FX. And you can run it as a plugin, meaning in exclusive single screen, not competing with other GUI recourses. And how "realtime" does it need to be to still be useful? I could probably live with it being more of a frequency snapshot recorder.

  • @TokyoScarab
    @TokyoScarab 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I work on a lot of hardware programming and the big thing with a graphic parametric eq is that it's just a lot of math and processing that has to happen in real time. It could be possible to incorporate a basic one in, but anything more complex would probably eat a lot of resources and only be useful as something you'd process audio through to print as a new audio sample instead of a real-time effect that you would have running all the time.

I don't know if I'd like making drums/beats on 3.0, but I'd be really interested in plugging in my interface and using it as a full blown DAW for audio recording. who on this planet is a serious beatmaker and uses the MPC in stand alone mode? not me I use an MPC X which is connected 24/7 to my computer because I use Kontakt Waves Soundtoy plugins in stand alone I am too limited so it's fun to make boom bap but the boom bap does not fill my fridge..so I find it completely stupid to release a major update but which limits the use in stand alone we do not buy an MPC X for stand alone ... I have sessions with 20 instrument plugin tracks and 20 others with FX plugins so when you think about it this update is a useless damp squib ... but everyone talks about it as if it was Jesus Christ who came down to earth ...

    • @rycrump
      @rycrump 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      Elektron’s workflow is inspiring for a lot of people though. If Akai’s previous methodology didn’t feel like a detriment to creativity I would agree with you. Yes, instruments having a learning curve is normal, but the previous OS had a lot of headscratching hurdles to get to creating. The best thing the MPC’s have going for them is the ease of sampling and chopping, but when it actually came to making a song, just not user friendly at all. Plus, if you don’t court the people whose brains have been wired by modern DAWs, you’ll be just selling to an increasingly diminishing group of older producers

    • @mb2776
      @mb2776 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      electron hardware is performanced based. mpc with the new OS is for the producer. Big difference.
