The "Para Eq" IS a parametric eq. I use it all the time as well as the Kill Eq. However, I think many people are wanting a graphic eq. I think the two eqs that are currently available, are powerful enough to do whatever you need it to do. I agree, the inclusion of a spectrum analyzer would be nice to have as an addition.
thanks, I was loading the projects first from the startup screen (recent Projects) and there it was different from the project browser, so yeah it works really well to import old projects from the file system. Cheers for debunking. My Projects been not messed up as I read in a random comment.
The argument against a graphic EQ on the MPC is just not going to cut it IMO. If you can render complex soundwaves on an MPC then you can for sure render a simpel graphic EQ. Nobody is expecting Fabfilter-level advanced UI stuff here running 24 EQ bands, just a simple 4 band will do. Most people would already be happy with a simplified version of Ableton's graphic EQ. And the same goes for a spectral analyzer, just keep it simple. Because if your ambition is to make a true DAW-in-a-box then these tools are basically essential.

It's just to better see what they're doing and to make better and more precise adjustments as a result. A multi-knob interface is just horrible for that. Bro, having a spectrum analyzer on these current mpcs is a no go. Spectrum analyzers can be extremely cpu intensive. Spectrum analyzer are literally giving “realtime” updates of what’s going at every frequency in your mix from 0-20khz. That’s a lot to ask from these mpcs with old low powered processors, while still expecting it to play your beat without clicks and pops.
Okay so why complain go make your music in another daw or better yet you create and code a standalone production device that has it. IJS bruh cause all that complaining when this is made for the person who doesn't want to be tethered to a computer and you can easily go get you a macbook and make beats using the MPC Software then add your third party plugins there. You complaining about some thats a mute point bruh cause with what they've given us you should be grateful.

And you can run it as a plugin, meaning in exclusive single screen, not competing with other GUI recourses. And how "realtime" does it need to be to still be useful? I could probably live with it being more of a frequency snapshot recorder.
I work on a lot of hardware programming and the big thing with a graphic parametric eq is that it's just a lot of math and processing that has to happen in real time. It could be possible to incorporate a basic one in, but anything more complex would probably eat a lot of resources and only be useful as something you'd process audio through to print as a new audio sample instead of a real-time effect that you would have running all the time.
With that issue ….i heavy thought about that too. MY Soution: a 3rd „controller mode“. Essentially entering a „Master/leveling mode“ where the man processor power is dedicated to an awesome VU-meter…restricting most of the mpc features to give a good MASTERING experience
Except that the MPC Live is designed to be an instrument not a mastering desk. Peoples expectations are crazy these days. They want a $500 device that works as a quick idea sketchpad, a song arranger, a mix platform, and now, mastering? Get real. Drop your tracks out and mix them. That’s what any professional musician is doing, for good reason

As someone who just got into MPC a month and a half ago, that was also my biggest hurdle. The hierarchy of that main screen was so confusing to me. I kept switching out programs and not realizing I need to make new programs and all that stuff.. just a mess. Love the MPC but there were unnecessary hurdles to getting to grips with it.
I know they’ve dropped a few buggy updates… But I’m glad Akai genuinely take feedback on board when it comes to software feature requests. The slightly more force style arranging is sweet… Now they just need to drop a MPC Live 3 and MPC XI with better processing power and ram.
Any idea if they fixed the bug where all audio output is randomly muted for 3-5 seconds? The seems to be related to changing preferences because resetting preferences seems to clear the bug until the next time it occurs….
Programs were a great solution when the hardware couldn’t handle many different instances of instruments. This way makes a lot of sense, and people who are mad about it are just mad cus anything new makes them mad. Been using MPC for a couple decades, and I understand why they made changes. It’ll take me a moment to get used to the new thing but i’m not mad :)

My question is… On the current 2.15 I have projects. Within my projects Every sequence is a different beat. Will this be the same in 3.0?? Because this seems like sequences are just different parts of the same beat. ???

The midi information in the arrange window should be in region blocks just like the audio regions will make it easier to copy past and move around then the grid should have a separate snapping region that works independently from the TC

Is there a way way to output midi from your plugin instrument arrangement in 3.0? I’m using plugin instruments for trying out ideas and want to replace them with external synths via midi out, but there is no way to do that in 2.0.

@@AveMcree im not that sure. I use the clips as sequencer. loading loops of drums, bass and synths and "jumping" from loop to loop, building the song live that way. no idea how to do that in tracks...
Man, I will sorely miss the Program/Tracks workflow. To the end of time, it's my preferred way to compose with MIDI. But all of this is really great for performance (disk streaming was something I and fellow musicians wanted for 4 years now). I don't know if I'd like making drums/beats on 3.0, but I'd be really interested in plugging in my interface and using it as a full blown DAW for audio recording. I am shocked that List Edit is still the only way to step by step edit other than the grid mode. Step Edit on even the MPC60 is SO much better than List Edit.
@@AveMcree I noticed the dirt on the buttons, but I respect that. It shows the work you put in. I'll bet 99% of MPC owners (myself included) haven't put in that amount of time on their MPCs. If you play the guitar enough to wear through the finish and get the fretboard dirty, you get respect from other guitarists (dentists pay extra for guitars that look like that).
Can't wait! Would be cool if they make custom skins for the ui. The new one looks way better with the black versions now, colors look worse for the retro now haha.

For WHAT I DO, I use the SAME PROGRAM on multiple tracks while I'm sketching out the song and then REPLACE them one by one as the song develops. 3.0 would require me to go to a SEPERATE PAGE to LINK the program that's loaded in the first track that uses it, so it can be used in the others. FOR ME, it's an extra step. It might not be FOR YOU, but you are not EVERY USER.
I’m not gunna update because I sold my mpc force for the legacy mpc workflow years ago … that workflow I was used to since mpc2000 days and I didn’t really feel the arranger on the force that’s why I sold it for an mpc 1
Why is it necessary to have a graphic eq? Your ears are the most important piece of gear you have. Listen to the audio and eq it accordingly. Why do you need to see it?

who on this planet is a serious beatmaker and uses the MPC in stand alone mode? not me I use an MPC X which is connected 24/7 to my computer because I use Kontakt Waves Soundtoy plugins in stand alone I am too limited so it's fun to make boom bap but the boom bap does not fill my fridge..so I find it completely stupid to release a major update but which limits the use in stand alone we do not buy an MPC X for stand alone ... I have sessions with 20 instrument plugin tracks and 20 others with FX plugins so when you think about it this update is a useless damp squib ... but everyone talks about it as if it was Jesus Christ who came down to earth ...
Elektron’s workflow is inspiring for a lot of people though. If Akai’s previous methodology didn’t feel like a detriment to creativity I would agree with you. Yes, instruments having a learning curve is normal, but the previous OS had a lot of headscratching hurdles to get to creating. The best thing the MPC’s have going for them is the ease of sampling and chopping, but when it actually came to making a song, just not user friendly at all. Plus, if you don’t court the people whose brains have been wired by modern DAWs, you’ll be just selling to an increasingly diminishing group of older producers
@mb2776 especially 10+ hrs you spend programming scenes and pressure sensitive changes... I guess it's just different workflow. Overbridge makes recording-while-performing much easier tho.
@@rycrump I gotta stop you. As a person who had never used an MPC I purchased one and it only took about a week or 2 to figure things out in a way where I could make the same beats I was making in Logic Pro, Cubase and Reason. All programs have their learning curves.

When I put my MPC One+ in controller mode it triggers multiple pads and is out of sync. Anybody have a fix for this?

You can do it in any of the versions of the OS. You’re supposed to use the pencil sign on the track and bounce to sample.

Right now its in beta mode and you have to apply to Akai to get it. Once all the bugs have been found it'll be released.

You can do that yourself in standalone a quick youtube search will show you how. It ain't hard at all either.
You'll need a computer to do it though. But once done it they UIs work in standlaone.

I realy wanna sign up for the beta , but a year ago my 2 month old mpc hardcrashed in controller mode , ever since i got a replacement im carefull. Not even use it in controller mode (sadly)

Pitch is literally called transpose on the MPC and has existed since 1.0....... It's been on the main screen for several years..lol
No he is correct no need to fix anything that is not broke and works and in no way it will make making music any different , Making a complete different change to relearn is a pain in the ass.

who on this planet is a serious beatmaker and uses the MPC in stand alone mode? not me I use an MPC X which is connected 24/7 to my computer because I use Kontakt Waves Soundtoy plugins in stand alone I am too limited so it's fun to make boom bap but the boom bap does not fill my fridge..so I find it completely stupid to release a major update but which limits the use in stand alone we do not buy an MPC X for stand alone ... I have sessions with 20 instrument plugin tracks and 20 others with FX plugins so when you think about it this update is a useless damp squib ... but everyone talks about it as if it was Jesus Christ who came down to earth ...

Elektron’s workflow is inspiring for a lot of people though. If Akai’s previous methodology didn’t feel like a detriment to creativity I would agree with you. Yes, instruments having a learning curve is normal, but the previous OS had a lot of headscratching hurdles to get to creating. The best thing the MPC’s have going for them is the ease of sampling and chopping, but when it actually came to making a song, just not user friendly at all. Plus, if you don’t court the people whose brains have been wired by modern DAWs, you’ll be just selling to an increasingly diminishing group of older producers
electron hardware is performanced based. mpc with the new OS is for the producer. Big difference.
@mb2776 especially 10+ hrs you spend programming scenes and pressure sensitive changes...
I guess it's just different workflow. Overbridge makes recording-while-performing much easier tho.
@@rycrump I gotta stop you. As a person who had never used an MPC I purchased one and it only took about a week or 2 to figure things out in a way where I could make the same beats I was making in Logic Pro, Cubase and Reason. All programs have their learning curves.
Programs was fucking over the whole buss routing of the MPC, that's why we didn't have submix automation, sidechaining, etc.
You standalone nerds need to just plug yalls MPC into a damn computer and use VSTs like a normal producer.
We'll leave that to you computer nerds
