I Wish I Had This Earlier - Car Tire Rock Removal Tool

Throughout the year every once in a while I'd use sticks to remove some rocks from my 4runner's tires but it's a tiring and knuckle scraping ordeal especially with how many rocks were in the treads. I hoped there was some tool out there to make removing rocks easier and was I happy to get this tool! I was skeptical at first but it worked so well I had to make a video. Watch me demonstrate how I use it and you decide if you need it but for me this tool will now be a permanent fixture in my tool box.

It made removing 156 rocks feel like 50 so it's worth it especially since it's so cheap.

I addition to slinging rocks, too many in any given area can affect wheel balance!

My boggers pick up 1 inch rocks. It took me 20 minutes one time to pick all the rocks out.

@JayWandersOut Nice little gadget you found there. Been curious on why I can't recall Ever seeing you air down your tires. Do you Air Down?

I'm just lazy. I have an air compressor in the back of my car but it's a cheaper one so I don't trust it 100% to air up four tires but also I'm just lazy to get out and do it. I do have a set of tire deflators in the car for when I really need to air down. Really until I can get a more reliable and faster compressor installed under the hood I probably won't air down unless I have to but those are expensive!

I used a Popsicle stick wood safe on the tire, any metal my heart jump in case i puncture it.

It says currently unavailable so sadly you can’t get the commission from me. The one I got is about $16, there was one cheaper but it wouldn’t be here until October. I’m definitely looking forward to it as our roads have lots of rocks on the sides of them. My wife will definitely appreciate me using the tool, she can’t stand rocks in tires due to the noise. Last week I had a tire patched that I originally thought was a rock, it was a screw lol.

Because the rocks can fling out and hit a windshield behind you, kinda like what I accidentally done to my buddy that was driving behind me lol

sometime the rock might be super pointy or long so as you continue to drive it puncture deeper in a sense that might make you lose air.

It is a waste of time. Unless you are going to balance a tire or sipe a tire, there is no good reason to remove small rocks.
