  • This welder turned on but wouldn't run when the trigger was pulled. Watch me fumble through some fault diagnosis steps to identify and fix the issue 🙂. I now need to learn how to weld!
    The continuity checks on the transformer that I carried out in the bonus footage at 7:45 could be done whilst the transformer is still on the PCB, with power off the welder. That would be a safer option of testing the transformer. But it wouldn't show if the transformer was actually receiving power from the PCB.
    Please be very careful if you do this yourself!!!
    Replacement Transformer:
    Through Hole PCB 2VA Transformer
    Primary 230V AC 50/60Hz Pin 1-5, Secondary 12V 2VA Pin 7-9 167mA

    I realise my electrical theory may be a bit iffy in this video, especially when testing the transformer whilst fitted to the welder, so if anyone has any corrections please add them to the comments. Thanks! 🙂
