@@pedrocorreia2957that’s true. You do have to build up your grip strength. For me it’s easy now becuase I’ve dead hanged so much. Maybe do it 5-6 times throughout the workout between sets. Maybe even more

Always start my workout with 4 sets of 15 pull-ups but each set I change. 1st set- wide grip overhand, 2nd- overhand close grip. 3rd- underhand close crip. 4th- side hand close grip then onto 4 sets of 15 dips using the lower bars on same machine before moving to free weights/ normal workout then onto a gym class after an approx 30min to 45min workout. Classes are severely underrated for cardio and strength building
@idneymyers235 warming up is always a good idea before stretching, lifting, or any physical activity, you're basically reducing the risk of injury by a lot when you're warmed up 👍🏻
You not only need to have a strong back to do those wide pullups, but also a strong grip, so forearms, biceps, triceps, and also a strong chest traps, lata and shoulders. Basically a fully developed strong upper body. The wide grip pullups are no joke.

I don’t have any bars or gym membership so at home I stand up straight, look up, stretch my hands straight up to the ceiling like I’m trying to place my palms on the ceiling. And I keep “reaching and reaching” but it’s just to get that stretching effect. I do this for about 30 seconds or so. My back used to be so screwed up that when I would let my hands down it was incredibly painful. Now it’s not so bad I guess.
I'd love to spar MJW!!! I can always tell the Real Masters of their Sport/discipline. I know he's been in there with boxers, that's my thing. Martial Arts I'd love to learn more but it's far from my line of experise. It would be an honor. This guy knows his stuff.

He would actually get a much much further ROM if he didn’t do his pull ups so wide. People think wider is better but beyond the initial variation response, you’re just shortening your range of motion which is the literal worse thing you can do in an exercise

It's not great as a warm up though, because you're fatiguing the grip and it will affect you pull-ups. The grip with fatigue before the back.

He can do maybe max 10 proper pull ups,fully extended. Theses are weak half reps,not even close to real hard ones.
No need to lockout if you are focusing on just the upper back. Pull ups are a compounded movement
