@@sew_gal7340 We cannot resolve the issue, Southern California where I was raised is a desert. The very climate we love Dry and Warm, those sunny Southern California days are why we have wildfires.
So much to learn from these devastating fires. Questions about how we live, where we live, the sustainability of rebuilding. Perhaps rethink where people build and the materials used. The worst is yet to come. Usually there would be a construction boom for rebuilding, but California has so many restrictions, permits, corruption, it’s a bureaucratic nightmare, and from personal experience the state and city government hates outside builders and contractors, they make it so ridiculously expensive to do business it’s ran like a mafia of some sorts and yet there is not enough manpower or resources to rebuild on their own. Those poor people have everything stacked and working against while a few are just going to stuff their pockets while nothing significant will get done. I’m sure that the powers that be are licking their chops already thinking about their next mansion sucking those insurance and federal dollars dry.

What caused the insurance companies to suddenly cancel fire insurance? Was it a random choice of which clients or did they cancel everyone's coverage in California? Why haven't they figured out how to use the fn ocean water for emergencies since the state has a huge amount of fires and high winds EVERY YEAR!
Insurance will raise double rates or just cancel the policy if they want when they think the risk is getting high insurance companies are nothing but gamblers only gangster like.
exactly, when i see 1 fire start i think its just an accident. when 2 fires start 10 miles from one another, its less an accident or coincidence. the more fires that start the less likely it is anything less than an arsonist. embers can only fly a few hundred yards before they usually burn out.
You would be shocked we have had major winds all throughout California so I wouldn’t be surprised if they got carried. But yes arson could very well explain it as well.
While the LAFD's budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year did decrease by about $17.6 million from the previous year, the amount is a small fraction of the department's total annual budget of almost $820 million. Furthermore, the LAFD is not the only department responding to the wildfires. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and the Los Angeles County Fire Department are among the agencies tackling the fires, and federal resources have also been deployed.
The fire budget for LA county alone is almost a billion a year a 17 million cut is like 1.8% of the budget and the mayor can't dictate insurance policy coverage but hey who needs common sense anyway.
I'm Australian who has a home in the hills, Sierra Mar Drive, I haven't heard anything whether we still have a home. Cannot get through to anybody. But I've been saying for years and complaining to the council to do controlled reduction burning and get the undergrowth cleared out all over LA. Being Australian I have seen my share of wildfires. This was a time bomb. Blind Freddie could see that place going up. Bloody bureaucrats. We had international insurance through our Australian broker thank God.
There needs to be an investigation into these budget cuts. I’m willing to bet $17 million dollars that no politician or insurance CEO took a pay cut to help pay for public emergency services.
FYI- The $17 million dollar budget cut is not slated to take effect until later in 2025 so it has not bearing on this budget. They are already in talks to reverse this decision.
There's always someone claiming it was planned... or asking the question to point the conversation in the area. Ridiculous in most cases. This is pure incompetence. This is not an exception. Incompetence and unpreparedness. And it's definitely not the last time it will happen. This is normal because it's everywhere. The only difference why you don't hear about this happening in Maryland or Delaware is because it's rarely so dry there.
Why not report on how much water went into the Pacific Ocean instead of reservoirs- destroyed dams to save a small tiny smelt fish that is extinct. You get what you voted for deep blue!
Don’t blame the insurance companies, they requested a modest rate increase to counter the lack of preparation in case fires happened, and were denied, that is what resulted in the policy cancellations
Insurance companies have been defrauding Californians and pulling out for a while. They would rather profit and appease shareholders than have a reliable and well taken care of consumer base.

I saw this fire go from a little flicker to acres in a matter of minutes. The wind blew all the smoke and ash in our eyes as we tried to flee on foot. Never seen anything like this in my life.
That is because insurance companies sprayed gas on the dry brush

As a Californian, that still lives in California. Once the fires stop, Everyone needs to reflect on why this happened to be proactive for the future. Governor Newsome and the politicians/voters that ignored to focus on our infrastructure is to blame. However, I do believe that California has drifted away from God like most of the world. So the wrath of our heavenly father is mighty. Unfortunately, we get fire in this state. Please Americans remember not to vote for Newsome or any politican that helped California be where its at now. But for now, please pray for California ❤
I understand people's anger but hold off until these firefighters and first responders have finished their work. Can you imagine the negative press, they read it, they hear about it and it makes it so difficult to keep going because of it. Prayers from the Okanagan Valley, BC: We feel your pain. Our thoughts are with those brave men and women who don't flee from this nightmare but run to it. May God keep you safe and strong enough to do the unthinkable work you must do in the coming months.
The Okanagan is also subject to climate changes that promote wildfire disasters. Look at Kelowna and Osoyoos over the last few years! Love from Toronto.
Sending our LoVe from Australia 🇦🇺 ❤️ 🙏 Keeping you all in our hearts and prayers, May God Bless You All. 🙌
The mayor should resign. There is absolutely zero justification to cut the budget for the fire department by $18 million in an area prone to wild fires
gillotine
Sending love and prayers to all the people in California , their pets , the wildlife , first responders and firefighters . So much destruction it’s devastating .❤
Coincidentally, the Tibetan area on the other side is suffering from an earthquake, with a minimum temperature of minus 20 degrees and an altitude of 4,000 meters. Let's see what the difference is in the rescue efforts on both sides.
Other countries really quiet rn
Every home has a swimming pool, it would have been amazing if that was a back up water source for sprinklers on the roofs.
I normally don’t care about California, but this time my heart really goes out to you.
Sunset and 54th had a hydrant let loose and was being streamed on TikTok. The water was shooting at least 100ft high and thousands of gallons of water weren't contained. Multiple other hydrants were also doing this
Probably because the hydrant was run into. Those turn into geysers when a car smashes into them or they get knocked down.
Those hydrants don’t just open themselves or explode on their own. Nobody lets them open just to waste them z
Where is Sunset and 54th?
This kind of thing makes me wonder about NASA, we can go fly around on Mars, but can't deal with fires? Firefighters have small hoses that aren't going help a wildfire.
My heart goes out to my hometown. But we recovered after the Oakland Hills fire, Californians always recover. Remember we are Californians, we survive, floods, mudslides, earthquakes and fires. And we get better each time. I know it's hard, but the City of the Angels will rebuild and will go on. Northern California's heart is broken, we love you LA from your brothers and sisters in San Francisco and the Bay.
When have we gotten better when there are wild fires literally every year... Better means solving the issues
Of course LA will recover the city is full of some of the richest people in America. I’m worried about the “Californians” who aren’t rich enough to recover from this.
@@beach-px5dya huge amount of LA isn’t rich, stop being ignorant
@@beach-px5dy All three of the neighborhoods are some of the wealthiest in the world. None of them wear working class, not even middle class. Median Pacific Palisades $4.4 million, Hollywood Hills $2.2 million, Eaton Canyon $1.3 million. The loss is beyond rebuilding. But these 3 neighborhoods are resilient.
@@sew_gal7340 We cannot resolve the issue, Southern California where I was raised is a desert. The very climate we love Dry and Warm, those sunny Southern California days are why we have wildfires.
If Sunset fire started on late Tuesday night, it could have turned into another Lahaina fire situation. Thank goodness it was Wed.
So much to learn from these devastating fires. Questions about how we live, where we live, the sustainability of rebuilding. Perhaps rethink where people build and the materials used. The reality of living where water is not readily available. The reality and consequences of extreme weather. Perhaps keep those beaches undeveloped for everyone to enjoy. A lot of hard lessons and devastating loss. My heart goes out to everyone and wildlife. The suffering horrific and painful to imagine. ❤🇨🇦
Lordy, Lordy this is absolutely horrendous - too vast to comprehend 😢. I am so very sorry to the people of California who are affected by this tragedy. Sending much ❤️ & 🙏 from 🇬🇧
The worst is yet to come.
When wealthy people's homes get lost the news is widely reported, if it were poor people it would a blurb just before a commercial break.
Many houses are built of wood. That's a big problem.
Looks like the life style of the Rich And Famous is on fire starting this year
The fire department probably already burnt through their yearly budget and there’s one fire alone.
Sending love from the UK. You are in our thoughts❤
We appreciate your well-wishes ❤❤❤
My condolences to all people, families, businesses, pets, trees, earth, wildlife, workers and all others, rich or poor, who suffer loss and trauma in this tragedy, which will sadly impact everyone. Hope the USA can recover from many problems soon and keep our tax money home where it is needed!!!
All the people who dont live in LA suddenly know about LA
What! you mean everything South of Bakersfield isn't L.A?
Clue. When a secondary fire starts 40 miles away from the first…it’s not ember carry. There is someone behind these.
exactly, when i see 1 fire start i think its just an accident. when 2 fires start 10 miles from one another, its less an accident or coincidence. the more fires that start the less likely it is anything less than an arsonist. embers can only fly a few hundred yards before they usually burn out.
Not necessarily true. With extreme winds embers can literally jump lakes. Likely the wind carried it
It's terrifying that our government is willing to do this to us...😔
IT IS EMBERS AND SPARKS CARRIED ON WINDS FROM 70-92 mph. Are you slow?? YOU CLOWN!! try to grow up and stay away from conspiracy sites FFS.
You would be shocked we have had major winds all throughout California so I wouldn’t be surprised if they got carried. But yes arson could very well explain it as well.
I would be sad if poor people lived there but there are only rich people so I will be sad for the trees and animals that were killed by the fire
That is very scary fire be strong guys ! From Ethiopia
Did everyone hear that?! He said It was only the beginning!

17 million cut, dry hydrants, insurance nightmare. You guys have to get that mayor OUT!!
While the LAFD's budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year did decrease by about $17.6 million from the previous year, the amount is a small fraction of the department's total annual budget of almost $820 million.
Furthermore, the LAFD is not the only department responding to the wildfires. The
California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and the Los Angeles County Fire Department are among the agencies tackling the fires, and federal resources have also been deployed.
Don't forget gruesome Newsom
@@imd1b4u Question still stands. Why would you decrease the fire department budget in california?
When there is literally a huge water mass nearby aka The Pacific Ocean 🤦🏽♂️
Rents are going to skyrocket even more now!
Insurance rates as well
Dont worry the government will punish the property owners more with property tax increase also
almost like it was planned...hmmmm
@DengShabu Absolutely I wouldn't put anything past them.
So awful. I wish for the very best for everybody who is caught in this terrible mess.
Thank you for the efforts made to keep us informed about this horrendous fire! God bless you all and keep you safe 🙏🙏🙏

Yes, looks like judgment of hollywood
Prayers for the firefighters 🙏
Prayers for the people going through this and for those who lost their lives.
No mine just keeps going up I don't know where you get your info but that is not true
How did these fires start?! Praying for everyone in California 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
It’s way too early to say. They’re still trying to extinguish the fire.
Horrible!!! We just moved from SOCAL to PA for grandchildren. It is scary how vulnerable parts of CA are to fires. Accidents happen but saboteurs could take advantage of this also. Why drop a bomb when a match will do? Just food for thought. My sincere condolences to all those affected. I love CA.

I get so sick of the entitled who chose to complain about situations that are obviously out of anyones control. How do you think the firefighters =who are surrounded by fire trying to safe people and structures and the hydrants run dry. At least those people were able to get out. Stop complaining and get creative and find ways to help others who are worse off than you are.
This is first fire ,I can remember that there is no discussion of who or where fires are started? Someone is doing this
With these types of hot winds, it doesn't take much. It could be someone walking around Pacific Palisades with a cigarette butt. It could be someone riding a dirt bike on a dirt road sparking off their exhaust. It's not a conspiracy.

Are the trees there super dry and dead? They seem to catch the fire easily.
They haven’t seen rain in the area since May. It was extremely dry everywhere.
Yes, they are and the residents voted 10 years ago to build dams, none have been built. 17 million cut from fire department almost none of the firehydrants had water pressure so they had no water. All could have been preventable by the governor but apparently protecting a fish was more important for the governor
What's funny is I remember Donald Trump kept talking about how they needed to clean up the dead trees and everyone poo pooed him
@@ytname6221add the fact Newsome opened up four dams within the state and routed the water to the pacific ocean

Insurance companies are fist bumping now that they canceled fire insurance on these people. Way to go corporate greed!
Where is Mario since Luigi is locked up)
They could see with their naked eye that Newsom wasn't doing what needed to be done to control the situation
Those insurance companies left standing will be bankrupted by the claims from these fires. Homes in Florida are $300 to $600k on average. Ones in SoCal are $3 to $5 M. That doesn't include furniture, cars, appliances, clothes, etc.
I wonder if Mark Wahlberg is driving golf balls into the flames from his rooftop.
Anyone else remember when Donald Trump kept saying they needed to clean up the dead wood in the forest and everyone laughed at him

Thanks for showing us the houses are only burning and not the trees!
The insurance people are in the business of making money, they don’t awe you anything. They can see the risk and decide that it is not worth it. That same risk can be seen by city officials and mitigated which will bring insurances back to socal. Blame your leaders and the way you vote.
Does anyone remember the movie, ‘This is The End’?
Insurance companies refusing fire insurance and FD funding slashed in a State that is prone to MASSIVE fires?

Its almost like insurance companies realize insuring customers in a state that limits what you can charge and is prone to natural disaster is a recipe for bankruptcy. Weird.
