For a while, Cage wasn’t doing it for the love of the art- he was broke AF. Eventually he did so many small-budget films that some of them hit and he restored his career.
He didn't slip on the rocks by accident, if you watch carefully the pebbles are tossed up by the creatures from below. They are smart and noticed his pattern of running and jumping over the same spot.
Now that you say that, it struck me as odd that the second time they showed the angle where he would jump, the rocks flew up. I thought it was just a slow-motion reverse shot 🤯

@@sandrajones3563 Well if these creatures are based on Flys, that kinda makes sense, burrowing underground looks like something that they were evolving to do, if they came from space and evolved on earth, they would've started above ground, then evolved to burrow and live underground, remember at the start of the movie when the first creature tries to break down the door, it tests the door, then tries to break it, then gets frustrated and lashes out at it, it still has intelligence probably on par with humans, it gets angry and frustrated the same way we do, they watched their patterns and knew what they did and didn't do
It's a smart idea. All animals and insects make different noises. A horse will stomp, shake their head side to side, lift up their legs high as they walk. Animals cant talk but they have noises and movements that tell you how they feel. You just gotta be an expert to interpret what they mean.

Do evil things, one missed call (original), creep (not the found footage movie), and the monster (the movie about a mom and her daughter trapped in their car while a monster tries to kill them)
These creatures seem like the earth unleashed them due to pollution, notice how they didn’t touch animals and kept livestock in tact. Also at the end they were finally able to see the sky cause the pollution is gone from us being nearly dead
I actually really really enjoy these creatures. They're very unique what with how they chatter their chompers like that and the strange bedraggled way in which they feed, oh, and can't forget the hairy tumbleweed they perform when assaulting a structure. There's obviously some intelligence there, using teammates as part of the strategy, devising tactics, and what-not, however rudimentary. I think they're pretty cool all-in-all.
Ah, Critters 2 (and the critter ball): the first horror movie I remember watching. And it gave me nightmares for MONTHS. And then I grew up and realized it was a horror comedy and felt very sheepish.
I like how they didn't try to give the monsters an explanation. Some films try so hard to make their monsters make sense and that makes me feel so meh towards them.
When they linked up like a wheel and rolled after them in the vehicle...i thought of the wolfs in Storks 😂😂 I dont know, think they need to work on those monster...felt kind a silly
This was such a good movie, and Nicolas Cage is one of the greatest actors to ever do it, especially in the last decade. Top 10 for sure. Such a simple concept for a movie, too.
So, this movie puts together interesting ideas with a stricted budget for Hollywood standard, but i have to say, it actually has hard time to emerge between similar movies and at the and i feel like Arcadian does not have a strong identity. I have to reply to this comment. Happy Sunday to you. It feels strange typing it out. Much faster to say it. But it’s obligatory for me.
The creatures are ridiculous. The bizarre snapping, the silly horse like head, but the worst was the group rolling like a wheel. Cute in Critters, goofy in this circumstance.
Do evil things, one missed call (original), creep (not the found footage movie), and the monster (the movie about a mom and her daughter trapped in their car while a monster tries to kill them)
The last one sounds a bit like Cujo. What made it terrifying is that it's a scenario that COULD feasibly happen (at the time).
Man its not usual that RLM beats y'all to this stuff but they did and I'm still glad you're covering it! This is a good one.
Please do longlegs, oddity, and the first omen!!! And great video❤
It's about family- and that's what's so powerful about it
These monsters for some reason where so freaking terrifying
4:30 springtrap reference
I’m sorry but I can’t stop laughing at the silly snapping and the critter ball. This movie is so goofy 😂
Its funny because the creatures are based on goofy
These creatures seem like the earth unleashed them due to pollution, notice how they didn’t touch animals and kept livestock in tact. Also at the end they were finally able to see the sky cause the pollution is gone from us being nearly dead
These creatures can also dig very well and come from underground
I thought they were able to see the night sky bc they were never able to go out at night before.
Critters was around the time of Gremlins (but about 2 years apart). Both were scary but pretty cool at the time.
yo the hand reaching scene was pretty kino
I actually really really enjoy these creatures. They're very unique what with how they chatter their chompers like that and the strange bedraggled way in which they feed, oh, and can't forget the hairy tumbleweed they perform when assaulting a structure. There's obviously some intelligence there, using teammates as part of the strategy, devising tactics, and what-not, however rudimentary. I think they're pretty cool all-in-all.
The eyes and teeth at 8:35 nah maan
The shave looks good on yah bro.
As soon as I saw the “wheel” I thought Critters 2, and then you mentioned the critter ball. 😂
Damn, Jim Henson went dark as hell for this.
I'm waiting for longlegs
When I see the bugs in this movie doing that snapping thing I just imagine them going "bababababa"
I love how this movie was only around an hour and a half, took out all of the usual filler and stuck to the plot the whole way. Fun watch
They have kinda of a horse head with an elongated mouth, i definitely am reminded of wendigo / kelpies with this
Ah, Critters 2 (and the critter ball): the first horror movie I remember watching. And it gave me nightmares for MONTHS. And then I grew up and realized it was a horror comedy and felt very sheepish.
The second hug is actually 10 seconds
16:57 I remember the Critterball lol
I like how they didn't try to give the monsters an explanation. Some films try so hard to make their monsters make sense and that makes me feel so meh towards them.
I want to see this but i think I want to see The FoundFlix Ending Explained more!
The creatures in this are rad
nicholas cage movie !!! but sadly not the nicholas cage movie i want to see explained (longlegs)
I just watched this one recently and I was wondering when you might get around to it.
It would also be cool if you could cover 2009's "Lo".
When they linked up like a wheel and rolled after them in the vehicle...i thought of the wolfs in Storks 😂😂
I dont know, think they need to work on those monster...felt kind a silly
This was such a good movie, and Nicolas Cage is one of the greatest actors to ever do it, especially in the last decade. Top 10 for sure. Such a simple concept for a movie, too.
easily one of the most creative creature designs ever made.
I love nothing more on this planet than the „Critter-Ball“. Wonderful that you remembered and referenced it. 😂❤
two nic cage horror movies this year? its like christmas morning
Waiting for a Longlegs vid, cause Im curious but I dont feel like watching it
So, this movie puts together interesting ideas with a stricted budget for Hollywood standard, but i have to say, it actually has hard time to emerge between similar movies and at the and i feel like Arcadian does not have a strong identity.
But. The creatures, their design, the way they interact with themselves and their preys is absolutely wonderful and somehow unique.
Came after watching the film to learn more about what I just watched, ended up getting a full recap of what I’ve just watched with no explanation…
