Thanks for watching everyone! This is a packed episode with lots of lessons learned all around. The @Epic Family Road Trip crew are such good troopers and love to learn. Be sure to check them out!
Realy enjoying this series, and maybe it's just me, but on this episode it souls like the audio mix is off. The narration track is very quiet compared to the music.
Agree whole-heartedly, Clay your way of communicating effectively without totally smashing a younger persons confidence is highly commendable. Appreciate all of you! 👍
I love how you let the young get responsibility's for a part of the trip and share your own experience to them on a adult way when there accrue a problem. And the best part is that you share it with us in a very good way. You share fantastic footage but sharing a good way how to let someone take responsibility is up on first place all day.
I also wanted to say that I love that you let the guys make mistakes because that's how you learn. I wish I had been taught that way instead of being shat on for everything I did wrong. Great approach, you guys are awesome!
🇺🇸 I've been in places like that in Idaho, Mississippi, Colorado, Georgia, Florida that had people that aren't friendly. Go with your instinct. That's why it's there. Safe travel!
Got to add Baja to my bucket list. I see Clay strategically placed himself in Samson to enjoy its ventilated seats in the 100° heat 🥵. Well played, sir.
I've been watching your videos for several years and have really enjoyed the experience. Maximizing your equipment and personnel to achieve a common goal that also yields spectacular sights and sounds is amazing. Thanks so much.
I first saw the Alaska trip then Tacoma videos and now in the middle of Baja trip.damn this is gem of a thing over the internet. I just enjoyed it. Vdos came out to be really calming to me. All I wanna say is come to Himalayas here in India and explore more and keep posting more videos. Lv from India.
stunning cinematography as always. I was especially floored by the start of the Baja trail. Reminded me of some canyons I have traveled through in the middle east/western asia
Even I felt their goose bumps for the responsability, LOL ... very well managed by the OG´s, LOL!! Of course the safety net was there, but I agree with letting them feel the issues !! I have my doubts about the origin on that ground wire, LOOOOL ... but I´ll play along, ahahaha. Loving it all the way !! Great adventure guys, Thanks !! Cheers
Couldn't agree more on the gut feeling. I have not listened to it in the past and had to deal with the consequences. Since then, no matter how silly it seems, if I or someone else has a weird feeling, we take off/change plans and I don't ever allow for that not to happen. If necessary, I'll leave by myself as I refuse to put those I'm responsible for and myself in potential jeopardy.
Hey guys, absolutely amazing trip so far, riveting at times. Fun to watch the young adults in charge. To be selfish for a moment, would love a review and your thoughts on the Patriot Campers X3. As we have one on order, hoping to learn as much as possible. Thanks 😊
Love this series!! Being military myself and hearing him give lessons to the team like attention to detail, preparedness, forward/backward planning, leadership perks, like what more can you ask for, thats awesome. They are getting it young. I didn’t get those skills until later in life from Uncle Sam!
Yeah I know what you mean about gut check , Baja can be a little sketchy , I have friends that do the Baja 500 mostly these days but they have been robbed on the toll highway and so have some of the bigger teams so it's always advised not to carry all your money and cards in one place . Keep some in your pocket to hand out either to cops or bandits which ever it is you get pulled over by and you might get to drive off with just that .
Love the content! @1:51 though make sure the audio level of your talking peaks higher than the other background audio levels because in this clip it sounds like they’re all the same level and it’s hard to hear what you’re saying.

Interesting to follow your journey, been following all these years 👍🏽 important stuff when recruiting your new crew members. Also, cinematography is top notch 👌🏼 this is the first time the voiceover audio is not coming through. Maybe the rest of the audio is not 'ducking’ as intended. Keep up the good work 😉
Love your shows! You might need some help in the margarita department. lol. my fave recipe is equal parts tequila, contreau ,lime, oj . defenitely shake with ice. you're welcome! :)
So I'm assuming no one ate that puffer fish you guys speared; because all pufferfishes contain tetrodotoxin--which is up to 1,200x more toxic than cyanide.
at least here in the states I am packing my weapon for protection. In Mexico and other countries, that is not happening. But still a great lesson learned and always trust your gut instinct
Dude! I wanna respond to your comment at 4:30. I bet you move anywhere in remote areas in Oman or UAE, your neck hairs won't stand up. These are highly peaceful countries. ✌️
Interesting but not my favorite. I would say don't do the that style of video again. We are here for the adventure not the training of young folks. Just my opinion
Funny how you set them up for failure on the water situation. Also how the water system fails when they’re taking over and how you purposely tried to over use water to create the situation. Then all the sudden it was just a ground that wasn’t connected which probably would’ve been found when doing a 15 minute check while the others are getting breakfast. Like the last video just seams like a lot of created problems.
There’s nothing wrong with trusting your gut or having a weird feeling, however, did you need to mention a disparaging moment without any confirmation in this expedition? … Knowing that the world isn’t safe as we’d like it to be, I’d suggest not being an alarmist. … Otherwise, a great video and an awesome cinema. 😎🛻

What camera equipment do you utilize for filming the videos?

ThNk you!

Thing is? Do ventilated seats work, or are they gimmicky? I do not know?
@@garbinator09 They definitely work
Go Gators!
@@juanpinto5743 - thank you 🙏🏼 hopefully someday I’ll be able to experience these.
Letting the Van Stralens take charge shows the amount of trust you have. 🙂 I can't wait for the next episode!
4:25 good talk. solid advice.
know that feeling well, and your story brought back that gut-check feeling for sure... i'll never forget it.
I've been watching your videos for several years and have really enjoyed the experience. Maximizing your equipment and personnel to achieve a common

these travellers just gave me the dream of doing a world tour overlanding with my friends and family, thank you guys for all what you do, love you !!
I am really enjoying your Baja trip. Thanks
Very cool. Way to go for learning. It's through failures that successes are accomplished.

You guys are such an inspiration 🥰
All I can say is so lucky to be told by clay you are in charge of the expedition. What a badge of honor
stunning cinematography as always. I was especially floored by the start of the Baja trail. Reminded me of some canyons I have traveled through in the middle east/western asia
This adventure is getting intense. Can't wait for the next one. 🏆🏆🏆
Incredible work as always, huge inspiration!
Thank you!
@14:15, they are sea lions, not seals. This was driven home to me by our guide, a marine biologist in La Paz.
Great learning experience for both the students and the teachers. Can wait for the next episode.
Thank you!

Always enjoy the trips! In this episode the music and background was a little too loud. Some discussion was too soft to understand.
Thank you! We are not sure what happened there. It was fine when we uploaded so we will see what happened.
Stay safe guys!
the cinematography is on point!! but who the heck is the drone pilot!! mad skills!!
Clay & Tanner do a great job ;) - Rachelle
Very educational, informative and structural course.
Great video guys! But I found the narrative audio on this one is a little lower than previous videos. Specially at the begining. 🤔
You guys have inspired me to plan a Baja trip from Mn this winter!
Awesome!

thoroughly enjoyed it!
Loving this series. It's as good as all the others you guys have done. Keep up the fantastic work.
Thank you!
Good job guys wow
Nice one! That closing music was a great choice too.
Man such and amazing trip. Wish I was with you all. Keep up the great work
Great episode as usual! But the audio was off, the music was too loud compared to the voiceover! Had to rewind a few times to catch all the commentary
Good terrain variety. Looking forward to more rally track.
Woooah..beautiful footage here. Aerials of rams incredible. Killer rigs. Subd. D😎🇺🇸PDX.
Nice!

Do you guys carry any personal protection?
Well Alaska the last frontier the new series 5 part air on TH-cam or only the network?

Serie de overlanding drama 🤣
caroline is lovely 😍
Maybe those “mean” guys were just thrown off by big LED lights in their faces
It was still daylight. No lights and we were very slow and respectful.
Please highlight the restaraunts youre eating at. people watching would love to know where you ate and where the food is located,
PAÍS : BRASIL 🇧🇷
Estado : Ceará
Cidade : Fortaleza
When are y’all going to do Africa?
Not sure! It's on the list for sure!
Guys don’t mean to criticise but the voiceover is taken over by the music for some reason. Great episode G’day from Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺
Bet yall wish u had the 690's for those 1000 tracks!!!
So I'm assuming no one ate that puffer fish you guys speared; because all pufferfishes contain tetrodotoxin--which is up to 1,200x more toxic than cyanide.
Maybe those muchachos did not like you playing music from Spain In your Mexican adventure.
I will make a pump fed tap in my Unimog and gravity fed outside tap. Never rely only on a pump
When did Caroline & Dan finish their certifications?
Dan was able to finish his on that very dive and Caroline was able to get a bit farther along. Sorry we missed that!
👍🔥🔥🔥
Y’all went to conception bay and only speared a “botete” fish, bad fish no good for eating
at least here in the states I am packing my weapon for protection. In Mexico and other countries, that is not happening. But still a great lesson learned and always trust your gut instinct
Gibbs Rule #40 comes to mind…
Why spear the fish if you aren’t going to eat it? 🙄
Anywhere south of the border be VERY cautious and never travel alone in “nice rig”

You guys are so stressed and serious all the time. Just buy a Toyota, a few maps, install Gaia gps, and off ya go! It’s not rocket science….. 😎🍻🍻😂
Why kill a puffer fish when you can't eat it?
Rather be safe than sorry in any country new, that is the rule not reflecting on the country at all.
I’m mexican and i dont even go to south la let alone mexico i aint fucking crazy fuk tht, only here for caroline😍
