My late Brother in Law, drove a Ford Escort Cabriolet, it was the best thing since sliced Bread, in the 80's, he had a Triumph TR7, with a union Jack on Bonnet. 80's were great.

I love that generation of Escort. They had so much character, along with modern build quality. Also, these were new when I was a teenager/early twenties and really wanted one back in the day. This one is a real survivor.

Worth bearing in mind that braided hose are excellent at hiding underlying deterioration in the rubber house underneath. You can't inspect them for deterioration like a rubber hose, so failure tends to be sudden.
if you can't tell how old those are, I'd treat them as suspect and replace them.

Old steel brake pipes can be deceptive. I restored a 1968 Austin Cambridge about 5 years ago and it had a mixture of original steel and newer copper brake pipes. I replaced the copper ones as I had no idea what quality they were. I also decided to replace the original steel pipe that went from front to back, even though it was rust free to look at. When I took this pipe off the car, it split in half due to corrosion at the back of the pipe where it was clipped to the chassis. On these older cars with single circuit brakes, a failure here would mean no brakes at all. It is good advice to change ALL the brake pipes.

I'd call that a win, such a short list of stuff to sort for the MOT.
I've had cars I use everyday get longer lists than that, so well done guys.
Takes me right back, god I wish I'd kept my XR2i. 😂

Maybe a bit optimistic with the Mot? Now you know what needs doing though . I am sure your not the only one who thought it would go through, been there done that! Apart from the paint it is almost there gents. Another shake down and you'll have a ticket . Nice video Chris and Rob, SRUK classic restoration. 😁👍👍
