  • Showing how to remove the actuator plate of a wall mount toilet.
In this example I am using a toilet carrier from Geberit.
Some plates have a small screw on the side, which has to be loosened before trying to remove the plate from the wall. So it's advised to first check if there is such a screw.
Otherwise just push the plate up by a little bit and then list it away fro the wall.

You saved me good money! I was left with the option to call a plumber... but all I needed was how to remove the plaque! Many thanks

This may help someone as not all Geberit faceplates have the clip at the bottom. I watched loads of videos and the clip is always shown at the bottom. I spent a frustrating time trying to get mine off (by pushing upwards) and almost breaking it in the process. Mine (a 2017 model) has the metal spring clip on the LEFT side. Therefore to remove the faceplate you need to push it to the right then unclip the right-hand edge. HTH. Cheers from UK.

Thanks. I guess, like for others here, you saved me a plumber visit. The trick is how to remove the toilet button just my pushing it up (or on one side like for mine). Thought it was much complex than that, liked sealed or something....

Mine won't move very far upwards and will definitely not pull out from the top. Any ideas? I've watches a bunch of these videos and the removal seems simple. Not mine: there's very little movement in the faceplate.

I have something like this, and when I press the large button nothing happens, I think something is loose or broken. What could it be? The small button works great.

    • @MegaSafetyFirst

Is three any resistance when pressing the button?
It could be that the hook for the large button has shifted.
I have a diffrent video, that shows the internals of the tank here:

Hi, any idea why after flushing the toilet water keeps coming as the tank remains open somehow when full - then if I just slightly touch the buttons - give it a very quick flush it stops

    • @MegaSafetyFirst

Hi, there may be some dirt accumulated around the seal at the bottom. This seems to be a common issue.
I cleaned up the seal in the past and it started working normally again. At some point the seal may also be worn out and should be replaced with a new one.
