Look for the water tank fill adjustment for water volume and the plunger things that bear on the actuator. Their adjustable length changes the flush time.@@buildingmanager8687
Thank you thank you so much; we had spent 1300 Euros over 6 months, on three plumbers who not only didn't fix our leak from tank to bowl, but made it worse. Seeing your videos made me look deeper into the issue and I fixed it within 10 min! We are grateful to your sharing.
Thank you. This saves me from calling the plumber who would charge (per hour) more than the price of the Geberit flush valve kit and would give the earliest appointment in 2-3 weeks.
Was a handyman in the states for years. Living in italy now realized the systems are completely... foreign. first video I came across and now I think im good thanks
Thank you, sir, for your excellent instructional video, which gives me the confidence to tackle a leaking Geberit toilet. Who on earth would give this video a thumbs down?
I can't get the front panel off at all. Not giving a thumbs down a sit's not thius guy's fault, but very annoyed mine doesn't pop like this one...is wedged onto wall and won't budge. I have levered things in behind but then it looks like the whole contraption is gonna get ripped off the wall if I appoly any more force. Useless fkcn thing.
@@Fozz33 I've not yet tried the full process, but I have removed the front panel, which in our case involved pushing to the right against a spring and then pulling away from the wall. I found phoning Geberit helpful - the flush was not working correctly, and they explained how to rotate one of the rods to correct the mechanism, all without having to pay lots of $$$ for someone to come around to our house to do the pretty trivial job!
Thanks ! Would not have been able to repair without this ! Our building had the water shut off and when the water came back on , the toilet wouldn’t stop running. I took off panels, shut off water, cleaned all the pieces put back together and it worked! Great video!
Fantastic video, thanks!!! I would just add one thing: Inside the valve that you remove at 4:00 there is a very small through-let that can get blocked by chalk. It then takes hours for the reservoir to fill. In my region with very high chalk level in the water, I have to open and clean this valve every 3 years. A bit tricky but with a small screwdriver one can bend both legs of this valve and open it. An alternative is to dump it in a glass of vinegar for a full night.
This a valuable piece of information for the maintenance side of things. You took the time to explain the process in your video tutorial. I do appreciate you sharing this for others to learn and reference going forward. Thanks and good luck 🤞
Thank God for this video, I could NOT sleep with the constant flushing noise, and it only took a couple minutes to fix this. Can't believe I could have had to call a plumber for this otherwise lol
I just got mine delivered today with loose parts in the tank so this video confirms I had it put together correctly. Thank you! So easily serviced and well designed!!
Thanks god for this video, I broke toilet and then water was constantly running, and with help from this video I fixed it before someone noticed it! Thanks!
I have a slightly different unit but the design elements are the same. Managed to disassemble the unit using these instructions to re-attach the hook to the plunger which had become detached. Now working perfectly. Thank you
My Geberit looked very different on the inside (perhaps an older model), so it took me 2 hours to get alle the parts out through that tiny wall hole. Your video still gave me the courage to try. Thanks for that. Why do they have to make those wall holes so tiny you can barely get your hands in there and you definetely can't see what you are doing? That is a crime against humanity to make wall holes that small... anyway thanks for the video.
Because it's built for looks. Not functionality. Another horrible toilet that makes a running toilet cost 600 to fix. Where at that price you could have Had a brand new traditional toilet installed
Thank you for this video. Because of this video, I managed to repair and clean my toilet myself. What an awesome feeling when you see it working again!
Good choice of music. Thanks for the detailed instructions and good filming angles. I have the same flush mechanism and couldn't find any better videos than yours.
Cheers, very clear, excellent in fact... you make it look easy...it isn't.. and if you drop anything inside the cistern you need a child's arm to fish the thing out..(yes, I speak from experience..) they're bloody fiddly things with minimal space to do everything in, why do they not give at least another 1 cm of width in the cistern to manuouvre in?
My Geberit system is exactly the same as in your video, but it is leaking from the shutoff valve, even when I fully close the shutoff valve it is still leaking, any suggestions please? Would a quarter turn with a wrench to tighten the nut on the shutoff valve be worth trying to stop the leak, or not a good idea?
Thank you for informative video - for me, all went well until the reinstallation......when you place the cylinder back in, all well and good - but the grey back plastic bracket which is supposed to sit behind the cylinder to hold in place and pops onto small plastic peg - I just cant get it low enough to enable this to clip into place its a couple of mm to high and no matter how I try cant get it line up to clip into place. Any suggestions? Please
Helpful. But there is a gray plastic bracket that goes behind the flush valve (it appears at the end of the video during re-assembly but not the beginning). I cant get the bracket to align with the flush valve as it had before I took it apart. Maybe it''s not a critical part but any suggestions for how to install it would be helpful! Thanks
Ok, so I fiddled around with it a bit but felt too lazy to dismantle it completrly, just threw 1.5 liters of vinegar in, waited one hour, flushed it out a couple of times and left the bowl without water over night. This morning I filled the bowl and flushed and the water is no longer leaking. My theory was that limestone should have built up on the valves and this may have helped clear it. I read however that vinegar may deteriorate rubber with time so let's see if there is long term damage. Cheers!
Thanks for the video! My flex hose is VERY firmly seated in the shut-off valve. I unscrewed it ok, but it doesn’t want to come out of the shut-off valve - is there a trick to this? My toilet was installed three years ago. Thanks!
The video was very interesting, but I noticed that when reassembling the components, before inserting the buttons, a black accessory was inserted on the back wall that wasn't there at the beginning of the video, why?
Excellent and clear video. What is the part number for the Geberit Flush Valve shown here?? I'm trying to replace the flush valve and can only find the larger one, which is #240.622.00.1. Thanks!
The bit about flushing out the water, at around 1:40, is a bit unclear. Clearly you have to do that to avoid a flood when you dismantle the parts later on! My guess is that having turned off the water you'd do it by pushing the left blue lever, which is what happens when you press the button to flush normally. Is that what is meant by 'this is all going to be flushed out at this point'? Or does 'lifting the trigger mechanism' do it automatically?
@@MegaSafetyFirst Many thanks for your prompt response, Mega! I find dealing with water more scary than with electricity because of the risk of flooding, so I wanted to be sure! PS: would it be good to indicate your second video, relating to putting back the black thing at the back, somewhere where it would be more noticable, e.g by pinning it, or referring to it in the description?
When I push the button on the plate, the tank empties like normal, and starts filling, but all the water instead of filling the tank it goes into the toilet bowl. I suspect the little white rod 5:51 that connects the button on the flush plate to the mechanism remains stuck. Why could this be? Thank you

I too have a problem at point (5.38). yes, i face the same problem right now. In the past it went in place right away. I don't believe i am doing any mistake this time. Did anyone find a solution to this?
