loved it cant wait to watch the rest, sure keeps you on the edge of your seat. you can see already many secrets are to be discovered in these brilliant characters. the best part was the guy threatening to cut someones throat over apple crumble being taken off the menu sooo funny and the sets are amazing. excellent job

Can't, and frankly won't get my head into the negative comments - on other platforms, it is billed upfront as a dark comedy. I have not worked in a prison but have worked in response security and mental and general health and some incidents are more incredulous than fiction.... so I'm not offended by the introduction of an African Bull-frog into the mix.
As an ex-healthcare worker Casualty and Holby City can really drive me mad at times with it's glaring inaccuracies - namely their obsession with portraying medical consultants as the bosses - even giving them central offices in sets (not to mention their character's atrocious behaviour around patients and their aseptic technique that would not be tolerated in real life) - when in reality it's actually the uniformed nurses who call the shots. It also drives me mad that their seems to be copious amounts of equipment (lifting aids, ECG monitors) when in reality you are having to wipe equipment down between patients. It's like the Props department are doing a propaganda exercise on what a hospital should be like and not what it's really like. Neither of these dramas are billed as dark comedies or campaigning dramas, whereas Screw has been honest from the outset....
But, I have to remember they are both dramas and the script writers are having to pander to the needs and perceptions of the audience.
HOWEVER the script writers and the actors here in Screw have used a really clever, unashamed, blend of method and Brechtian acting approaches in their way of telling the story.
The Channel 4 description says this drama is set around two characters.... in my view they are selling the performance short. Thanks to the cast and crew this is a real ensemble performance. All the characters get a fair chance as shining through. I am a construction manager now,,, and effing hell ... hats off and respect to the set designers and builders for putting that VERY believable structure up!
Challenges issues in the prison sector in the same gusto as Casualty does about the pressures of the NHS - but with some light hearted humor and lovability.
The scene that sticks out to me is the young upstart cheap suited governor hiding in the secure wing office while the places is almost in full riot. This rings true of management nowadays - too scared to get stuck in when the sh*t is hitting the fan.
HMP Longmarsh is in my opinion the neat 2022 update of HMP Slade.

There are quite a few inaccuracies but a I still found it quite entertaining.
would have enjoyed it more if the sound quality was has good as it is on here , could barely understand some of the talking and i have very good hearing , will watch next week see if it gets better
The full series is on 4 app I binged it all really enjoyed it so many twists and turns, stick with it

Just watch it I didn't think it was worth 4 stars I would say 2 it's really poor and really boring me. I know lots of people who watched it and said it's the worst thing they have ever watched .
That was terrible. I don't think anyone involved has been anywhere near a prison. Porridge is more realistic.

Awful in every way possible. Poor acting, no storyline, outrageous plots such as the SO sleeping in an empty cell on the very wing she work on?? Really?? Going into a cell with a prisoner alone?? Utter nonsense in every possible. And yes before you ask I do know what I am talking about.
