Strong work. Maybe not the flashiest of repairs but I appreciate seeing how these pieces are put together and that repairing them can be done without crazy specialized tools. Keep on keepin on!
Thanks Tom! That’s what I’m going for. This is my first go at metal work like this so the goal is to put it back better than it was, not necessarily make it pretty. My hope is that other guys like me might see this and feel confident to take on their own project.
Nice work on the patch panels. I have very little welding experience but now that I’m retired I’ve got time to practice. Most of what I’m practicing on is old car and truck parts for wall art so this information is helpful. I’m wondering if using a surface prep like OSPHO would help in the areas where you can’t get pitted metal sanded and clean enough. Have you ever tried this technique?
