Thank you! Once I made the decision to keep the original block it was a no brainer to go with the stroker kit. I wanted to keep the truck somewhat original and do something different than all the LS/Coyote swaps out there now.
I have the same truck…. My header panel is still good and I don’t have that much rust…. With that being said, would you recommend I cut mine the same way? I plan to weld over stake pockets and weld over the dent fuel filler neck and modify and relocate it to flush mount bed fill
You should be able to cut the bed the same way I did without removing the header panel. I prefer this method because the front body line holds its shape better than if you were to cut in the middle of the panel. Both options work, I just prefer the way I did it. Good luck with your build!
Great question. I’ve been asked this a couple times. There are a few reasons I decided to do the conversion. I wanted something that was a little more sporty that I can auto-cross or take to the drag strip for fun. I also wanted to challenge myself and learn some new skills. I figured this was a good one to learn on since the bed was so rotten. Thanks for watching!
How'd I do for my first attempt at welding body panels?
Doing the shortening on the corners is more work, but it is worth the effort...
Looking Good!
Great work. Love the build and the decision to stroke the fe. 445!!!!

Man that was a nice job on those end caps getting the body lines to workout.
Thanks Cory! I’m pretty pleased with the outcome.
Looks great! Can’t wait to see you weld the spoiler on back of the bed next!!! 😉😂
Why do you think I lowered the truck? I needed to be able to fit the Top Fuel wing out of the garage door 😂

@@CodyBuilds thanks 🙏
Just wondering… Why go to all that effort to shorten the bed? I would think that it would not be able to carry as much as a long bed. Carry on!

@@CodyBuilds Drag strip never crossed my mind. Take care!
