Hard to tell, but if done properly it SHOULD be permanent. I do find the black tape to weaken over time in some pants. While using fusible hem tape is a quick alternative to sewing a hem in place, it is permanent and cannot be removed. There is no way to remove the adhesive once it has been fused (second half of the video with white fusing tape). Hope that helps!
