Thank you! A very well made tutorial that has given me the courage to try this. I am short so every pair of pants I buy have to be hemmed and I am tired of paying someone and am ready to give it a go myself.
I want to thank you. A few years ago I moved away from my home town. My mother used to do all my hemming for me, but as I no longer live near her, I decided to take on the task myself. Watching your video has shown me exactly what I need to do to hem my new pants that I got for Christmas..
They are too busy confusing the genders to teach useful skills. I learned to type,drive and do my own car maintenance in high school, life skills come in handy.
This video helped me learn to hem pants for the first time. Thank you for posting it! For future vids, I’d recommend a bit more close ups and lighting because some of your work was a bit hard to see. Luckily your verbal instructions were clear so I caught on fast. Also, a similar video on hemming suit sleeves would be a lifesaver!
I've never sewn before and always felt useless when a hem needed fixing. I know if I asked my aunt to show me how she'd do the job for me which I appreciate her doing, but it shouldn't be her job! Now I can show her my new skill and she'll be proud. Thank you for your video.

I’m trying to recycle my clothes to get new pieces out of them rather than throw them out and spend money buying more. I literally spend twenty minutes searching TH-cam for videos on how to sew a hem before I found this! Every other video moves too quickly and bombards you with fancy techniques. Awesome! I recently bought 10 dress pants for 1.40 per pop and they were unfortunately too long but had the right waist size. After watching your video and hemming my pants, they were as good as new. Probably even better than ones I use to buy in department stores.

Needed to hem up some grey dress pants that the hem had come out of. Watched your knot tying video - something I never got right and then got down to business. Catching the one or two threads is the key! Did it with white thread and nothing came through. My wife was impressed with my work. Thanks for the informative video. It's been over 20 years since I turned up a my own trousers (I'm a man) but this is exactly what my mother taught me. I'm going to go back to hemming my own clothes because in the UK in 2018, it costs me £8 to have a newly purchased jeans turned up. Thank you

Thank goodness you're a lefty. I've not done a hand sewen hem since 4H. That's 50 years! Very nice refresher and beginning tutorial. My only suggestion is when beginning one tends to pull to tight and work tends to shift. You'll get pricked but more pins by the hem edge. Happy sewing. Hand sewing is a lost craft.

I finally got my son 2 suits from my favorite men store, but th pants are not hemmed at all. I've been sewing about 1yr but I wanted to be on point for these special suits. This video helped me so much and the suits turned out perfect. My son was happy💜
