Great stuff! One of today's poets Singing the poems of the greatest poet of the 20th and so far the 21st centuries. Dylan did deserve the Nobel in literature. All of todays best poets put their words to music. Poetry is art and art always evolves yet always remains relevant. Dylan and Vedder are 2 who have lasted along with Bono, Chris Cornell, and so many more. May god bless and keep them always!
As I read your comment, I thought of Cornell right away, and there he was in your comment. IMO, one of the best songwriters of my time. Thanks for a great comment.
Even if Eddie sings Happy birthday I'll cry... Now you could imagine how I am right now listening to this versions of Dylan' songs... What a voice! What a feeling!
Just saw him in Florence over the weekend and the love affair with his voice has returned. Thank you so much for uploading these treasures. The perfect birthday gift for my husband who is equally moved by Vedder's music, particularly his covers. He did Comfortably Numb on the organ in Florence. It was magical even if he swore he'd fuck it up.
I love Eddie because he's got a beautiful voice, just like you. I'll listen to almost to anything he sings because it reminds of the sound I miss everyday...the words don't always apply..sometimes they do...almost doesn't matter...like yours...doesn't mater what he says, it's like peace that just blankets my body when I hear it.
kafka jam Bob is still around. The most legendary living legend. Eddie pays homage to the Shakespeare of our time The most accomplished artist of our time.
Amazing song writer... my all time fav song writer bob dylan....there is even a local bob dylan here in north east India a man named Lou Majow from Shillong....
i love Pearl Jam- probably my favorite band, was a freshman in highschool when they release 10... Still, I think they should have disbanded years ago (after backspacer) and Eddie should have taken his acoustic guitar and just opened up a new chapter in his career. AARP card qualifiers have ZERO business penning, rehersing, producing and introducing the world to yet another mid tempo punk number/

Is there an Eddie version of "Mr. Tamborine Man"? I'd love it sooo much!
Just hit play, and am hoping by chance Masters of war is from tribute concert with him n Mike circa 92',93'? I got 23 other MOW on CDs with band or solo tour, still love the old one.Just my humble opinion, I'll take any forever young versions, beautiful man, tear jerker once live on solo tour, beers n music that hit home with him 20 ft in front of you can cause that reaction in a grown man.
I understand both of your comments. I'm 77 & discovered Dylan about 1964 & loved his music. But on flip side I'm a fan of Eddie Vedder & the power of his voice. Incredible vocals.
Bob was asked what he thought about Jimi covering his song and he said he wrote it for him. Do some research and think about that. I believe he meant that music is a living thing and Jimi was meant to cover that song.
Yes of course he did, or at least performed it superbly it is true; and Clapton wrote Knocking On Heaven's Door, Adele wrote Make You Feel My Love, and Miley Cyrus wrote You're Going to Make Me Lonesome When You Go, ... 'sounds like' lots of great performers cover the best songs they can find... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_artists_who_have_covered_Bob_Dylan_songs
as if eddies vocal fluctuations and timbre wasnt enough, the guitar solos for me makes this just the best rendition of all along the watch tower, and i have many favourites, dmb, devlin, jimi, but this is something else.

His voice feels like home to me.
That's a great way to describe it. His voice cuts right to the bone marrow, doesn't it?
Crystal, it absolutely does go to the deepest core of ones soul.
I agree with all the above! Love this man!
Well said, Brother Sparky.
I love that! Now that I think of it, to me it feels like a big warm hug.
He and Jack Johnson together sound SO calming.😍

Even if Eddie sings Happy birthday I'll cry... Now you could imagine how I am right now listening to this versions of Dylan' songs... What a voice! What a feeling!
One of the few who does justice to this classic, beautiful, powerful music.

Dylan en la voz de Eddie..
Nada más hermoso!!!! ❤❤ ❤❤
I just love Masters of War with the full band
Dylan wrote it. But it became a scary kind of magic, when Vedder made it one of the most definitive songs of multiple generations!
Blood on the tracks
My first listen...loved it so much!
Lovely compilation...thank you.

Would have been nice to add to the Acoustic Version of Masters of War from the Bob Birthday bash
Young Eddie was raise with covering Bob Dylan before he was on PJ.
Eldias Mahdi Sastra didn’t know that. Anywhere I can read up on that?

Can someone tell me what this version of Masters of War is from? Show/date?
At the end there is a bit of Simple Man by Lynyard Skinyard, is there anywhere some recordings like this one, when Eddie or pearl jam do lynyard's? :)
THANKS
wow.....
Eddie sing the song of Dylan "Wanted man" ?
dream...
Is there an “Eddie Sings Tom Petty” compilation?
dunno, but i'll start the setlist: I Won't Back Down, The Waiting...
Bill Lorand you could add Wildflowers and Room at the Top as well. Both great covers by Eddie
🙃💯
It aint Eddie Vedder singing 'I shall be released', it's Jack Johnson. Still good though
Vedder sings the third verse (and shares the choruses).
and in the same time he is doing back vocal
I shall be released is not Eddie Vedder, but some of the songs do sound like him.
shawn stipe, please see the comments above yours.
Eddie v

This is great but I prefer his 1992 cover of Masters of War, it’s so much more powerful
So are any better than Bobby D.?
Ah, the ol' can of worms opener... you do know that there are no wrong answers..
Released was good, Watchtower ok.
Please eddie sing rhoma irama, he is a rock star from Indonesian..
money.
Could you make a video like this for his Bob Dylan covers?
These are Bob Dylan covers...
Sad , even big artist “wanna be“. Ther IS Only one B.D.
Oh be quiet
I understand both of your comments. I'm 77 & discovered Dylan about 1964 & loved his music. But on flip side I'm a fan of Eddie Vedder & the power of his voice. Incredible vocals.
All Along the Watchtower is Jimmy Hendrick's song actually.
I don't know who this "Jimmy Hendrick" is. But I doubt he wrote the song for Bob Dylan to cover.
iPeppe1 dylan wrote all along the watchtower. It's on john Wesley harding.
um.......dude
Bob was asked what he thought about Jimi covering his song and he said he wrote it for him. Do some research and think about that. I believe he meant that music is a living thing and Jimi was meant to cover that song.

Just awful I’m gonna never listen to Pearl Jam again
I love Eddie but he screwed up these songs.
as if eddies vocal fluctuations and timbre wasnt enough, the guitar solos for me makes this just the best rendition of all along the watch tower, and i have many favourites, dmb, devlin, jimi, but this is something else.
great voice
