Correction in the nozzle size it is 1.08 my 40 degree was missing part of the number, but the other nozzles are clearly stamped 1.08. This would be a 2.75 size nozzle. Also, several in the comments also are stating they don’t have these ramp up issues and JoshV did not as well. Could be a defect or my voltage, but 116/117 voltage is well within electrical code at the outlet so if it’s that then many could have this issue.
It's cool not many bloopers. I still love the posing for a thumbnail! Thanks for the review on this. Im getting tired of my ryobi. You definitely are helping in my decisions. Or just build one? 🤔 Thank you Keav!!
Thank you Keav for another awesome review video. I think I'm going to wait until you'll come out with your own pressure washer before I update mine. 💯💪
I bought one. Definitely a step up from last last pressure washer (that $150 Westinghouse model on Amazon that lasted a few years and didn't hold pressure after 1.5 years) This isn't the best bang for the buck but just buy it at 25% off and it's definitely competitive. I like that it's an AVA "rebrand" because I trust their engineering and products more than most other manufacturers because...well...they are mostly just average or have common downfalls. It's super quiet and the package from Adam's is perfect to pick up and start using right away. Plus the wall mount is a huge plus for me.
With the discount it is for sure way better than the cheaper ones and it’s a good unit durability wise as well. Plus very quiet. I think mine might be defective a bit. Others are saying they don’t have the ramp up I did.
I bought one with the 25% off. Not a huge fan of Adams but not a hater either. I bought the full kit due to being all tuned to be used together. I’ll be using it for the first time tomorrow. The unit is a very heavy and seems like it’s going to last a long time. I’m really hoping there is no ramp up issue.
I can't wait for AVA to bring over their other pressure washers. Also I wish Adams sold that little adapter separately so you could use it with the AVA.
I bet you could get one maybe calling customer service saying you lost yours. I know Active sells certain parts only via their support lines right now.
I’ve had mine for a couple weeks. 3 vehicles done with it so far. I don’t have that a ramp-up issue. Only thing it does do is every couple mins its like it kicks on then off if i am not using it. Not sure if thats normal or not. I plan on getting the 3.5 and 4.0 nozzles 25 and 40 degree.
Another banger video. Footprint is interesting but is a downgrade in every other way, triplex to whatever frankenstein pump they have now and worse performance compared to the original. To their credit the price did go down by like $200-300 but I'd still take an active 2.0 over this.
It’s interesting for sure and for this price I prefer triplex or Active 2.3. With the 25% off I would prefer the Active 2.0 or Big Boi Duo axial pump in that price range.
Great video Keav. Thanks for the review. I definitely feel it is over priced for the performance. For that price range, I’d rather get an Active 2.3. I’d sacrifice the noise to get a machine that performs much better.
In my testing there was no ramp up issue experienced. 1.67 gpm with MTM 3.0 at 1150 psi. Produces more cleaning units than my Active 2.0 at 1.95 gpm and 900 psi with 4.0 nozzle tip. Please make sense of that
There is for sure something different about my machine even Josh was pulling 14.6 amps with the 3.0 nozzle and I was getting low 13 amp. I myself don’t go by cleaning units I just want flow for the rinse. I only calculate cleaning units when it comes to pressure washing concrete and other things like that. I thought maybe it was my lower voltage, but that would cause a machine to do more amps and not less. Maybe it’s possessed. 🤣
13.8 amps on the Adams 3.0 nozzle and only 12.6 amps on the Active. Really like flow of Active for rinse but the Adam's PSI and quietness is better. Adam’s dialed it back way too much.
That would be another reason for me not to buy. I did try three different size hoses 1/4, 5/16 and 3/8 and they all did the same thing. All my hoses are steel braided or Kevlar. They sell it separate so they intend for you to use other products. JoshV didn’t have the issue, but he did use the Adam’s hose. Maybe I got a defective one. 🤷♂️
@@CarsWithKeav possible for sure. Josh did have good luck with the unit. true. so If i wish to use a flexible 40' house with good strength, which one would you recommend ? I'm currently using a 25' red uberflex. nice but slightly short. 40' would be nice.
@@edclaeys4749 They should care they are paying $600 for a pressure washer that is barely worth $400, but I know they don’t which is why Adam’s will continue to deliver rebranded hardware products over and over for 25+% more than they are worth. @@CarsWithKeav no way… go figure, right? I have the Active 2.0 just for personal car use. At times I wish it had a little more pressure, but it gets a car done. Active just seems to va little bit disjointed as a company. The fact that you have to jump through hoops to get some small parts, is annoying. Still, I’m interested in that foam cannon, that still seems to be a unicorn.
Another great review! I’m using a basic ryobi pressure washer 1.2 gpm 1900 psi. I’ve noticed after watching many videos I seem to go through more product quicker mjjc pro v2 foam cannon than the people using better pressure washer s with a higher gpm. This seems backwards to me, but maybe 1.2 doesn’t give me the coverage so I use more covering the area? If so maybe I should upgrade.
It has a lot to do with the orifice nozzle used as well, but higher GPM machines create better foam which covers much quicker especially on a wider fan spray.
Hey Keav. I bought one of these with the 25% off coupon and I don't have the strange ramp up issue that you are having. "Maybe" you got a bad machine OR the Voltage drop you are discussing is causing the issue? I get a solid 118V on my 20A circuit. I don't have the ramp up issue. I also get 970-1000 PSI with the 3.5 orifice nozzle with a 70-PSI water inlet pressure from the faucet. Anyway, great vid as usual!
I’m getting the same PSI with the 3.5. Could be voltage others have stated they don’t have the ramp issues as well. I’m at 116v to 117v so not that far off I would think unless the capacitor they used is at its limit just like the Big Boi Pro issue.
@@CarsWithKeav Maybe so. I wish I could give you a definite answer. I am just giving you what I have, I hope 10 other people can give you their results, maybe then there is an answer.
Either one is a good choice. I was mentioning 2.0 because this unit is always on discount for 20% to 25% so it’s closer in price. It all depends if you want the whole package for $650 or just the pressure washer. You could not up a 2.0 very nicely for $300.
Hey Keav, thx for the great video. Ive got a question for you. I picked up a cheap Karcher K5 compact last week. I also ordered a 1/4" uberflex hose and mtm short gun which came with 030 tips. I did a waterflow test into a sealed bucket. The specs say min flow 7.5 litres per min max 8.3. I got 6.4Litres using the supplied karcher hose and gun/wand. I have not tried a Karcher before, but those types of machines usually gain a good bit going up a size. I’m just assuming this is in Europe? I know in the U.S. these machines can’t do those kind of numbers and a 3.0 is the highest nozzle size you want to use here.
