Is there a reason you changed the 4gpm pressure washer? was it the website?
Yeah, I saw several comments saying that they were sold out on the website. The one that I have the link is the exact same one that I started with and will do you just fine. Plus it’s a little cheaper.
@@AustinDavis24 I am on my wifes account but I have a bit bigger budget and questions about getting into the business because I am looking into vent hoods and ovens and dumpsters and I am wanting to know if i should buy hot water or start residential? Im not sure if you do 1 on 1 but I am nervous about the direction I want to take.
I got the same pressure washer and it was horrible and broke within a week
@@mail9637 then you clearly messed up the machine.
@@mail9637you clearly are a 5 year old who brakes things 😂
Realistically, you don't need majority of this to get started. This is a setup you should invest in once the business takes off. To start, you realistically only need a pressure washer which comes with different tips you need, a cheap surface cleaner attachment, a long garden hose, a long pressure washer hose. Once you get steady business and dollars rolling in, use that to re-invest in equipment like this. Great video to show the end-goal though as far as equipment!
For sure, that’s why the video is called pressure washing BUSINESS Starter kit. For once you get the business going.
@@AustinDavis24 I mean, you can have 0 clients and call it a business still, just wanted to clarify to start the business at ground zero all you need is a power washer and you'll get some happy clients @ a lower cost before you're established. Regardless, good video and good recs
Nah the way you said it in the video, it definitely sounded like you were saying that we have to have all this on day 1.
@@ballwizz23 if you’re not willing to invest in a business why should someone invest in your business? Why spend $1000 on junk just to have to spend the $3-5k anyways
@@drewburgess8097 It's not about my willingness. It's about not having the money. And when did I ask someone to invest in my business?
Guys if you buy a surface cleaner, make sure to get the proper nozzles for it based on your gallons per minute. If you are running a 4gpm machine, get 2.0 nozzles for both your nozzles. This will allow your washer to do a good job and maintain proper water pressure to the surface your cleaning.
What if I get a 2.3 gpm machine?
@@RTGaming28 I would get 1.25 nozzles. My thought is to not put back pressure on the washer. If I’m wrong, please help me out.
I've heard the ratio is 1:4 - For every 1 gallon per sec from your pump, your surface cleaner can widen 4 inches. So a 4 gpm would max out with a 16" cleaner.
Do you have a link to the correct tips on amazon?
Just buy from a reputable business, and ask them to match the correct nozzles to the machine
Thats actually insane. Was willing to drop up to 5k on equipment. You made life super easy. Thanks for the information.
Trash cans & big rig trailers are a gold mine.
Everything he has listed or mentioned. I can confirm is 100% worth it. What I didn’t have or didn’t know I needed I have ordered and began using. Flexzilla, quick attach, and surface cleaner is what I’d recommend getting first.
When doing these jobs do you use the customer water supply? Or do you have a water tank?
@@jamarljohnson7514 I use their water supply
@@jamarljohnson7514 I am fairly small atm. I’m not new but I am small. But I’ve been fairly successful at using it to my advantage. When talking to a customer. If you know you can produce quality results. State it with confidence and throw in. I can do the job a little more affordable than the surrounding companies due to the lack of equipment trailers meaning less machine time charges. Sinse I’m by myself there’s no need for additional man power hence a cheaper labor bill etc etc. When I’m reality it’s true but I’m typically cheaper by about $50-100 on your typical residential job.
@@Garry-fq6xg hey I’m trying to start pressure washing this summer, where should I start?
@@Garry-fq6xgSo how much did you charge customer’s starting out?
I work a full time job but have always wanted to have a powerwasing company!! My goal is to do it in the evenings when I get off in the evenings but as the time changes I will have more time to work it. I can work all day Saturday and Sunday!! Hopefully by this time next year I can move to 3 days per week at my full-time job, work 12's to keep my dental, vision and 401K. This way I can still work for the people who are so good to me and be making great money with my business!! One day it will be my full time gig!!
Thanks for the videos!!
You may have already covered this at some point but I know that there is great money in doing hoods on like Japanese restaurants bc I used to work at Hana, Shogun, Tokyo and Ichiban over the years!!
They had theirs done quarterly 5,000 to 7,000 at a time!! I know it takes a vacuum system to do it but this is something that I am interested in getting into this at some point!!
Is it worth it??
This is single handedly the best video I’ve seen on TH-cam for pressure washing and I’ve watched 100s. Especially explaining the injector part. Thank you.
Thinking of starting my own business doing pressure washing... clicked on your video and saw the ROTS poster behind you.... you now have my undivided attention.
Hahha big Star Wars fan here.
What we put out we get back 10 fold. You a Very Good man for doing this. Love your enthusiasm. Ball Valve is a MUST, along with the quick connects.

@@seamus70 thank you!!
Have now used this to clean house siding and it performed well th-cam.com/users/postUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX I also bought some wand extensions which enabled higher washing without needing a ladder. I recommend both. This unit arrived quickly, was easy to assemble (only had to attach the handle), and arrived in perfect condition. The only very slight downgrade from a perfect score is the design has a low handle and requires pulling from the side. My old washer was an upright model, while this one is more horizontal. Other than that, it's perfect for my needs. It has a great deal of pressure and more easily cleaned the house siding, porch rails and concrete than did my older model. The engine is a bit louder, as well, but the total time to clean was reduced by the more powerful spray. Did I mention it starts on the first or second pull every time?!! I am definitely happy with this model.
It looks cheap as all get out
I was laid off last week and found your videos. Planning to start a soft wash business because of your content - really appreciate all you do for the community!
Goodluck dude! Hopefully youve been able to gain some ground on your business
Yeah give us the update!!
Damn I was planning to have business like this in Philippines dude can someone help me where I can purchase dose machine?
I was planning to resign here in Dubai cuz my boss is so racist towards Filipino.
Carwash business kapatid !:-)👍👍👍
Did you start ?
Found your channel a few weeks ago and have gone through just about every video. Taking my leap this week to get my legal, GMB and CRM side of things done before this spring before I get my equipment. Wouldn't have felt so confident this could work if it wasn't for your videos and others like it. Good luck with everything you got going. We see you! And I promise this won't be the last time your hear of Michigan Wash Pros!
Let’s go kyle!
Wassup bro ive been thinking about going into this business i live in FL and i have a good feeling that i do good on it! Let me know how it goes in the future!
Question please
@@AustinDavis24 I hat downstream injector can I get for a 2.5 gpm??
So how has it been going so far?
Austin, I have been doing customer remodeling for 15 years. I joined the fire department have been looking for a more turn key business to make some money on the side. Pressure washing keeps making it to the top of my list and has become my top choice. Thank you for your transparency and just putting it all out there. Its been a huge encouragement and saved me a ton of time of learning the hard way. Although, I know the lessons will come you may have saved me some hardships. Thanks Pal!
Thank you for the comment, Doug!
Just started my own small business, thanks man helps out the little guy
Are you still enjoying the business? I’m interested in starting
I learned alot here today for the operation I have going. I had to start as cheaply as possible but this video puts it in perspective what kinda jobs i should be focusing on right now and what kinds of customers I should be targeting. Thank you.
Some great points for people starting out. I personally started with a 5gp 4000psi gx390 because the only upgrade from here is a gx690 with a boiler. It is great in it can do everything efficiently and 15lpm for me is what comes out the taps.
I have to say though that since i got the xjet, i wont be looking back to a venturi (downstream) injector. The reason is because the venturi is set to 5:1 ratio. So if your chemical is 12.5% concentration, then the best you could apply is 2.5% strength. Whereas xjet, you can insert proportioners that allows for a change in % from 2:1, 3:1, 4:1 onwards to 250:1.
This versatility far outweighs the fixed 2.5%. Also to note that when you get a honda, nake sure it has ceramic triplex plunger pump, something like a comet. Also it comes as direct drive, but ideally gearbox/belt driven is better for P.W. longevity. Everything else your have said is spot on though.
Would you be will to answer some questions?
Hi, I’m new to the game but I keep hearing people commenting on how the go with an xjet or downstream. I do know how everything is used with a downstream system but with an xjet I still don’t know how it gets set or even used
Haha omg just looking at some of these petty comments 😂. Seriously thanks Austin your videos have helped me learn so much as I get ready to launch my business. May blessings abound in your life.
Literally just bought everything that you had linked for the equipment 🤣excited for the journey this coming season 💪🏼💯. This video was my calling 😂
Damn you got everything from the links?!
How's it going?
Yeah I wanna know too lol
How’s it coming along
My buddy and I are on our way into jumping in on this profession. By trade I'm a concrete finisher and he a licensed mechanic but we want to supplement our incomes. We plan on just starting off doing driveways. We're building our own trailer to tow behind his new diesel truck to save money and as luck has it my little Sister is in the marketing/sales field. Not to mention she's a genius at it so we have a lot going for us. You video was incredibly helpful. We will be going with your recommendations. Greatly appreciated. 🇺🇲🤙
can we get a update?
Idk if I'll get into pressure washing. But what a great video.
Thank you!
I'm just a homeowner. I've rented a gas pressure washer before and recently I bought an electric pressure washer from Costco. I have to say that the pressure and the volume of water from the rented one cleans at a quicker pace. It ran at a higher pressure and it sprayed out more water. The electric one I bought can clean the same drive way and side walks but it takes quite a bit more time. Even when I'm looking at videos of someone using good professional gas pressure washers it's obvious the volume of water being sprayed out is quite a bit more than what an electric one does. I guess if one were to buy a 240v powered electric pressure washer it would speed up the cleaning. But the price increase will be at least 4 to 5 times higher.
Great video. I really want to start a pressure washing video. I liked that you spoke about other products besides the pressure washer itself
I'm just a weekend warrior homeowner, but your list was very helpful. Thank you! The BE washer might be a little overkill for me, but our house has nearly 5K sq. ft. of aggregate concrete between the driveway, walkway, and porches. So looks like I'll be taking the plunge...
This is a really comprehensive guide!
Just got a honda pressure washer for free from my uncle 3500 psi and 4gpm hopefully i can start soon
Hey really enjoyed this video, could you do a second video with a beginner softwash setup to move into roof washing, keep up the great work!
Yes I can do a video like this!
THANKS FOR SHARING MAY YOUR BUISNESS EXPAND DOUBLE GOD BLESS
thanks man! starting in Arizona so i’ll be purchasing small to get started as I build
Lets go!
im 13, im probably gonna try this in summer or even sooner, ill wait for this stuff and see if i can even find customers in a town of 800 people, if i do ill probably use my dad's electric pressure washer
Fixing to get into this business. Been working in the oil patch for a while and would like to try it out
I extremely like the video, man. Very helpful and informative. Thank you very much. It is presented so well too. Great, positive work.
What up dude just found your content this week!
Thanks Austin! Excellent freaking video!!!!!!!!!
All the fittings you say to order and nothing to connect the hose reel to the pressure washer intake. Nice.
You connect a whiplne from pressure washer to reel
Great video. Do you have one how to set this up in the back of a truck? The hose real, placement, etc?
I got about 5k to invest in my business, I haven’t bought anything yet but i plan on buying the best equipment that I can right out the gate. Fuck waiting around guys
Great video but all equipment was top quality kinda overwhelming for someone who is trying to get in the business. This total setup is about 3500 for everything listed. 👍🏾🤙🏾
No it’s 2200-2300
Thanks for putting this together and sharing.
Thank you for your detailed review of items. I have watched so many videos and they WILL NOT tell you what they use. I would like to hear your updated PW you recommend that has the pump you mentioned. Liked & subscribed. 5⭐️
Hey Austin I really appreciate this video it too will help me on this pressure washing business. Thank you !
Good video, good explanation on each item that is needed
2,388 is a good price to start a business you can make that up in a month it’s worth it. Thank you for this video I’m looking to start my business up soon but I thought I would need at least 10k. 😅
Appreciate it brother

Awesome Davis😁 Very helpful. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
great job on the video and all the valuable information for new comers
Would love to see a video about where to order bleach and any other chemicals. This is the biggest question mark for me starting this side hustle
great one boss man you are by far the best at coaching. And making sure that its broken down so well that everyone can get it! so if i may ask I wouldn't don't need a buffer tank? I can work from my skid from the back of the truck
You don’t need a buffer tank for this setup. You can plug the machine directly into the spigot
@@AustinDavis24 great so I can do up to 2oo feet of garden hose or will I lose pressure thanks in advance

Surface cleaner. I thought the formula is 4 inches per PSI.
I'm still learning. Spending lots of time on the forum researching.
Thanks for posting.
Yea yea people on TH-cam will say that buy I only used 20in with my 4GPM and it was perfect.
Thanks for the info. We have a pressure washer gx390 with comet 4040 pump.
Which surface cleaner would you recommend? I'm trying to find a good one in the $400 range. Some that's not crappy..
Thanks again.
@@05glisedan I would just get a BE wirl away
@Austin Davis I use the 20"with a 2.8gpm. Does great slower than a 4.0 but does get it done.
Not sure if you'll see this, but I'm convinced I want to start this business and make it work.
Could I do it with a much smaller budget of say $500?
Probably not very realistic.
Sure you can
Just bought my equipment and all that good stuff! Subbing to the pressure washers out there! I’ve uploaded my journey on TH-cam! Keep going! 🙌🏻🔥
With the equipments out of the way my major question is
If you pretreat with bleach do you still to surface cleaner with chemicals?
Do you use customers water?
Where is the water source for the places like the parking garage?
Hi. So you said its 1/10 mixing ration, what if I connect 3 of them inline and dip all 3 hoses in bottle, is this will increase ration by sucking from all 3 mixers
This is a fantastic video man!
Thank you!
Great info. Thanks for the free education.
You should do a video on a start up on a budget, say like 1,000 capital to start
All sounds great, now where to advertise?❤
bro, I just got a BigYao 3800PSI High Electric Pressure Washer.
It's working great. It's cheap from China or whatever.... but it's got more PSi than most the high end ones.
PSI Dosent really mean anything when it’s over 2700 PSI. It’s all about GPM
Can’t wait to see all the rigs for sale on marketplace 😊
Seriously.
Haha no kidding
Hey buddy thank you for this video.
I’m looking at starting out, and don’t have a truck to get those big rig setups. Can you let me know what to go get? I’ll be hauling everything in my jeep.
Thank you.
Hey man, thanks for the video. How’d you find and land the parking garages?
Thank you so much for the video! One question, how would you clean a person's house etc.. if they are concerned about using chemicals? Is there a more environmental way of cleaning??
Thx
Can you explain more about how you change between soaps and water using these equipments.. do I also need a water tanker to make a SH mix? I’m lost here
What about tanks? sizes you prefer? Could you possibly make a video on different types of chemicals and mixes? How much do you mix? What type do you use for certain surfaces. Then possibly on how ou figure a cost for the work? I really found your video super super helpful. I honestly mean that. I was thinking $10k startup. Any preference on heater for hot water?
Hey man, really loving your content. Finally pulled the trigger on buying all my equipment and getting started in this business. What size tanks would you recommend getting for water, SH, and surfactant? I’m using a 4gpm machine with a soft wash system all on a 5x8 trailer. I plan on just doing smaller residential jobs for now. Thank you!
You mention a General pump and not the AAA. How about CAT pumps? Also are people generally using the MTM DN10 Ball valve with pressure washers that work at 3500 to 4200?
can you please send me a link for the longer hose that goes from the pressure washer gun to the pressure washer? OR should I just use the one that comes with it???
I’ve been looking for something like this forever! Thank you! Liked & subscribed. Could you do one for soft wash system? Thanks!
Thanks! If you have the money I would get the Gen 2 softwash system!
Man I love your channel I really going for it
Thank you so much for your advice!!! Deeply appreciated
Hi Austin, I have a question about what size surface cleaner can I use with my pressure washer 4000psi - 3.5GPM with Honda GX270 Engine? Thank for your video.
Hello ! Loved the video could you maybe post the link to the original pressure washer with the Honda engine ?
Love your channel! Just got my LLC. About to order all my equipment within the next few days and get my new business going. Do you have a video on how to make my own rig until I can afford to buy a professional set up?
Do you need a water tank with all this beginner equipment? Where will the downstream injector pull any of the degreaser or any other chemicals from with this set up?
Hey Austin thank you very much for the great content, found your channel a few days ago and been watching pretty much all your videos and taking notes. I know you didn't mention a soft washing system set up up in this video but could you please do a video for it like this one, just for reference as well
I can put something together like that! Thanks for the comment
@@AustinDavis24 thank you very much, I look forward to seeing it. 🙌🏽
Love the video. How do I put all this together? Do I mount everything to a trailer or in a truck or just when everything around. You should show the whole beginner setup in another video or this video thanks for the great info though. I think I'm gonna try it this year. Also how much should I charge someone? How do I quote the job?
How can i get a protocol from you, Austin? step by step how you set up for a housewash+driveway and actually do the job. Thanks! Super helpful video
Great Video! Keep Up The Great Work!
What chemical do you use to pretreat/post treat concrete /sidewalks ? Can you post where to buy it and what is a good chemical for washing houses and aluminum siding ?
Thanks, just bought about 500 bucks worth of the stuff you linked. Hmm haven't heard of the whipline, hopefully it works lol. In this case I won't have to keep removing the pressure washer from the van if I understand correctly? As far as I understand with this setup I connect to the customers water with a hose then the whipline connects from the hose reel to the pressure washer so I won't have to move & remove the pressure washer everytime? Just not sure if only 100 ft of the pressure washing hose will suffice.
Hi Austin, Do you have a video on what chemicals and supplies to buy with this? I am very interest in doing this on side.
You reccomended the BE 4gpm pressure washer in an older video is this simpson powershot just a newer one you would reccomend NOW being that this videp is newer than the last?
The one in the video that I recommended is out of stock. The one that I now have linked is the exact one that I started with and will do you just fine starting out. This is a STARTER kit
@@AustinDavis24 appreciate the response! I'm going to be buying a washer here within the next few weeks I have about 1,200 to dedicate to a washer right now so I want to make sure I get the best bang for my buck, just so I'm not confused what one would you recommend? If you have time to drop a link or model number that would be awesome. I noticed you said about the AAA pumps not being the greatest and that linked PowerShot says it has one. Anyway i appreciate the knowledge man, cheers
@@TacticalDingus for $1200 your gonna have to deal with a AAA. It’s not the worst thing you’ll be just fine. If you want to spend $1500-1700 then I would get a 4GPM belt drive with a general or cat pump but the fact is I can’t record at in my video because it’s to expensive and you certainly DONT have to start with it. This is a STARTER kit. Not a advanced kit
@@AustinDavis24 sounds good man! I'm just learning about all these washers and pumps and I appreciate the videos and feedback it's helped a lot. Take care
Thank you for all your knowledge, you are a champ at what you do. I wanted to get the surface cleaner you recommended, but it is not available anymore. Do you have another recommendation? What commonly goes wrong with the surface cleaner? Should I get spare seals, are they all the same? 😊
You ROCK AUSTIN!!!
thanks, i am thinking about starting a pressure washing company here in japan. just seems like alot of moldy looking homes, not sure why but i feel like i could make a killing if i offered affordable prices.
Can you clean cedar plank privacy fence with a 4 gallons per minute pressure washer ?
Thanks for your video, very educative. Question, when you go to do a residential power washing cleaning, where do you get the water from, do you have a water tank set up or you use the owners water?
I've got the same question. Is it normal just to hook up to their water?
@@nonstickwater yes it’s normal to simply hook up to their water. It should be assumed you’re using their water. If there’s ever an issue let them know the options that you cannot do the job because of no water source. If it’s an issue with them let them know u simply can’t do it. Ofcourse in better words then this lol
Very helpful, thumbs up given!
Im just trying to figure out if its possible to do without a truck only a car.
Awesome video , i seen tanks on your rig do you use the customers waters source or are we suppose to provide our own ? been reading a lot of conflicting information. Hope to hear from you
You have to use the costumers water source. Otherwise you will run out of water in your tank. The tank help feeds the pressure washer.
@@AustinDavis24 thank you
great info, taking notes
The 4gpm one you linked states in the description that it has the triple AAA pump that advised against. But your video states it has a general pump.
Do you have a video of your set up and the different chemicals you use? Or have a missed it somewhere?
One thing witch is 5he biggest thing you didn't mention is the side of hoses and whips they make all the difference the bigger the better other than that your spot on but the size of hoses will make or break anyone's set up go big or go home I run 250 ft no issues on a 4 gpm I run the fattest hoses in can find
Hey great video! Also should I buy the same hose reel for my garden hose and pressure hose? Like does the garden hose hook up to the 5,000 psi “pressure” hose reel just fine?
Yes get the same hose reel! I wondered the same thing.
@@AustinDavis24 Thanks! What do I do if my garden hose is 5/8 and the pressure hose is 3/8 wouldn’t both “pressure” hose reels be 3/8 only?
