    Arthur Morgan's redemption story is so strong. He's so loyal to his gang that he will do anything no matter how cruel to help them or protect them. From the start if the game you can see the kindness Arthur has, how he tries to hide it so he can be who he needs to be for the gang, but as the game goes on and he sees how useless sticking with Dutch is, he starts to let his kindness out more, help people, be kind to them, give them a chance and choice. Then he gets sick and he completely changed. He's a man poisoned by the loyalty he had for Dutch, who in the end just wanted to do the right thing, regardless of himself.

    • @theclown2664
      @theclown2664 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      I kinda have to disagree that Arthur good from the start. No, Arthur was a bad man from the start he was like the rest of the gang because that's how he grew up with Dutch and Hosea. His redemption ark started when he found out he has a TB Arthur was like "fuck it, I'm gonna die so I should at least do something good for this world" it is truth because once someone knows he's gonna 100% die he starts to see world differently. Everything is so much better, beautiful and you start to enjoy even the most minor things which you took for granted. Arthur was like that and that's why he changed into a man who he wanted to be. I love Arthur but please Arthur fans, don't say that he was the best man or good man from the start, clearly he wasn't, beating up an old man with TB for few bucks is messed up and Arthur said it at the Train Station with sister Calderon

    • @crios8307
      @crios8307 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +14

      @@theclown2664I think the truth lies in the middle: yes, Arthur is not and will never be the best man on Earth, not even close. Hell, we'd probably hate him if we were to play with him as an orphan, because he would probably be sour, frowning and an ass to everyone.
      The 36 yo Arthur however grew up from it, loved, had a family, lost it tragically, and is implied to have never been a sadist nor excessively cruel (in the high honor gameplay, which is the canon one) to those innocent (Mr. Downes aside, but Arthur realizes "he deserved it").
      He didn't start doing good things just when he got TB, in fact he can show compassion with the old veterans and is all in all an ironic, calm, disillusioned man whom would probably reset his mistakes if he could. But he is still loyal to the gang, however I always read it as in the people in it and the freedom it gives rather than for the adrenaline it gives: his kindness is shown in giving Jack a book, a necklace to Tilly or a playful banter to Kieran, so it's bound to the gang but still present.
      But, it's true that he only started doing good outside the gang when he got TB: but again, not because he believes in a pseudo-salvation, but because it's in his nature to look out after others, and now he has nothing to lose (aka the gang, whom is dismantling, and his life) to reach others and help them in what little ways he could.

    It’s really painful to hear Arthur say, “All dem goddamn years.” Makes it even more painful that Arthur’s probably the most loyal member out of Dutch’s gang. I mean, he and Hosea were the first to work with him. And yet Dutch listened to a rat who has only been with them for less than a year.

    • @unfortunately_fortunate2000
      @unfortunately_fortunate2000 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      I think Hosea pretty much knew that the gang was done during chapter 3, he says to Arthur that he has doubts about either family having a fortune of gold, after admitting the shitshow in the Rhodes saloon was almost certainly Mrs.Braithwaite setting them up.
      His conversation with Lenny earlier in the game about how they both feel the gang has lost it's way is confirmed by the end of chapter 3, leading him to only want to hit the bank and then leave, instead Arthur, Dutch and Lenny walked right into Bronte's trap and signalled to every law enforcement agency that they were still operating in the south.
      I don't think it'd of made much difference if he survived beyond Chapter 4 tbh, it rather seems like either Dutch or Micah would've ended up killing him regardless, Dutch was not pleased with his and Arthur's loud and legitimate criticisms in regards to getting revenge on Bronte.

      I believe Dutch was always acting in his own gain, deep inside. He only helped and did things when it was ultimately convenient to him. That's why I hate him so much, he was a master manipulator of all of them for the longest time... it only took for things to start falling apart for Dutch to be unable to hide his true colors. Micah just happened to take advantage of that. That's why even though Micah is an idiot and a scumbag to me the ultimate villain here is Dutch.

    Arthur was one of the best protagonists that I have ever played in a game. From beginning to end, playing RDR 2 felt like a journey. I also think that it was a really interesting & unique idea to have the antagonist of the game be part of the gang from the beginning that you just have to tolerate & watch as he manipulates everyone around you. It made the final part of the epilogue that much more satisfying.
