We don't need Rooker from the A's, we need one of the new young pitchers they've been getting quality innings out of since the All-Star break. Trade Walker and Matz somewhere to get younger and better pitching that can step in RIGHT NOW. Try to get Corbin Burns or even Jack Flaherty in free agency (but Mozeliak must be gone for that to happen).
btw JD.... Walker and "speed" in the same sentence??? One reason he's so bad defensively in the outfield is because he's too SLOW and can't cover ground. He was "fast" as an 18 year old, JD. That hasn't been true at all now that he's bulked up. And no, the team is not comfortable with him in the outfield, they just recently replaced him in late innings of a game for defensive purposes.

The focus is on the symptoms and not the cause. The cause is the DeWitts all in on analytics by hiring people with no experience and the numbers will make up the difference. Since 2011 WS, all managers, coaches, scouting hired all had no mlb experience. The result is we're a patchwork team and not building around anyone. We don't have the coaching talent to get most out the players. It's going to be this way until the DeWitts sell or realize they have to hire front office, scouting, player development, club house management and let them use analytics as needed.

@@rayrussell6258 Jordan Walker is in the 78th percentile in the league for spring speed THIS YEAR... bad jumps doesn't mean his slow. baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/jordan-walker-691023?stats=statcast-r-hitting-mlb

@@LockedOnCardinalsMLB I don't care what savant says, I watch him day in and day out not able to get to the corner to hold runners to a double, they get triples, and in the gap he NEVER holds runners to a single unless he was already positioned in the gap. He dives on a lot of balls, when a decent outfielder with speed would make a running catch. He is too SLOW ..... AND gets bad jumps!
In the last game of the Toronto series, he badly misjudged a liner, and the only reason he caught it was he's 6'6" tall.
This season, so far, he has 22 singles and 9 walks. How many stolen bases does he have? ONE!
The Cardinals have been doing a lot of stolen base attempts this year, even with Burleson, who isn't exactly a blaze on the basepath. Walker isn't even getting the steal sign, the team knows his speed better than savant does.

@@rickp3131 The DeWitts are not baseball savvy, they are investors. They hired Mozeliak to be the baseball brain.
Root cause is Mozeliak (and Bloom, who drinks the same tea).
If the DeWitts finally realize their investment is losing value, fire those two, and hire Pujols to be POBO, things will get fixed.

The only fix at this point is to push Mo away from all decision making his last year, and Dewitt to commit to rebuilding the organization. The need a different approach to drafting, evaluating and developing talent. They need better coaching at every level, especially at the majors were they need an entire clean sweep. That's going to cost some money but it's absolutely essential for the organization to move forward. If Dewitt wants to gaslight the fans with the poor me act, then maybe it's time for him to cash out and put another billion in the bank. I don't care if he's not up to the task at hand but I don't want to hear this BS about we can't afford it. I am not holding my breath on Dewitt doing right by the team and fans, his ego wouldn't even let him admit a mistake and hold Mo accountable for his many blunders.

Fire Moziliak and Bloom, hire a new POBO and front office that has better advanced scouting and that pays player salaries that are consistent with other clubs, and our hitting will fix itself!
We need PITCHING, do not waste time on more position players. Our Manager and coaches are doing miracle work to keep this team at .500 this year. They deserve to be kept on, to do their job with better pitching talent, and without Mo's micromanagement, bad scouting and analytics.

STL blew it by trading Tyler O'Neill for nothing. Tommy Edman has hit five homers in the last four days, and is a switch hitter. Palacios Hit 10 homers last September and you want to pick up his backup. Two moves that the Cardinals should not have done is Picking up Contreras and trying to make him a catcher and Walker. Before them the birds were good. Flaherty, Hicks, Cabraer, all had good years getting away from STL. Skip should be the manager if he is let go. He would build a team on speed. Siani, Scott, Winn, should hit 8, 9, leadoff but
    Stl will trade one.

The problem with trying to make trades is you first must have players another team would want. I think the coaching staff should have at least had some major league experience. It’s one thing to tell someone to keep their eye on the ball but it’s quite another to experience a 100 mph fastball coming at you!
As far as trading with the A’s for their thumper, I would not be opposed to trading Arenado IF he would accept the trade; being from California he might be tempted to go. Love his defense and I think he’s a good guy, but I believe regression has begun. And if he wants to be on a contender, this ain’t gonna be the place to be for the foreseeable future. Maybe throw in Hererra too but hang on to those pitchers; we may need them all! ( unless they want Matz 😂)

    (Warning! Incoming rant bomb!)
    OMG!
“Ollie can only shuffle things around so much!”
    There you go again! Clueless!
Oli shuffles when and where he shouldn’t and doesn’t shuffle when and where he should! He’s absolute garbage at it!
Look how long he juggled around putting Winn in the lead off!! As if it was a thought so dirty… so unthinkable!
Look at how long he kept Goldy in the two or three hole despite the worst slump of his life! Think of all that potential momentum wasted! When Scott failed offensively to begin the season Winn should have been immediately inserted into the leadoff role! Immediately!!!
And Goldy should have been burried in the lineup immediately!
Oli wasted good to hot hitting Burelson behind flatline Aranado and Goldy the whole first half practically! Often when a player goes on a hot streak he’s rewarded with bench time because of past stats, righty lefty, or old trends!
has little to no sparks in the lineup and when players are called up to be just that they sit the bench!
I could go on and on! All freakin year!
Look at Brendon D! He’s hitting well lately! Why, other than when Winn gets a breather, has he been burried under Goldy and Aranado in the lineup lately? Why isn’t he batting 2nd right now?
Let’s keep throwing Gorman to the wolves when he can hit at all. As if he’s hurt or mentally checked out! How long did that go on before something was done about it?!
The way Oli sees it.. Goldy and Aranado’s career stats have earned them the meat of the lineup slots!
The way I see it.. their current performances have earned them back end slots!
I’m the realist! Oli is the dreamer! He sucks at this!
Winn needed a day off for like a week there.. but we had nobody! We gave Winn all that early time off when he didn’t need it! (Crawfish grounds into DP with bases loaded momentum killer) And when he needs a day off there’s nobody around! And this is a MLB team?? F me!! Oli is what? Praying? Hoping? I’d be on the damn phone or busting doors until I had a back up for my exhausted player!! It’s crazy this crap!!
Oli has done well with the pitching he’s been given! I’ll give you Oli lovers that! Good but not great.
But Oli has been nothing short of a complete disaster with the lineups! Utter and catastrophic disaster! This team has offensively underachieved more than any other Cardinals team I’ve seen. How dare you continue to stick up for this guy when taking about this team’s offense! He’s the leader of it! He’s the problem solver for it! He’s its orchestrator! He’s the captain of this wreck! You should be screaming from the heavens for him to be fired! All Cardinal fans should be!
Same with Moz! I get it! I get that!
The blame pie is big! And many .. MANY.. need to piggishly gorge themselves. Hope you’re hungry Oli!
    Hope you’re hungry Moz!
Eat up Goldy! Get a second helping!
You as well Aranado! Don’t be shy! Dig in! Stay a while!
And there’s plenty more for everyone!
Sheesh! Get real! Tear into Oli once in a while like he deserves! Let us all know you’re not a tongue tied and restricted corporate shill!
    (Fun rant over! Catharsis achieved!)

Holliday isnt here for a reason. Yadi isnt here for a reason.
They give up MOTY in Shildt and then Schumaker and replace them with Oli who has lost us 2 seasons in a row and gives him an extension.
We get rid of Alacantra. Turns into a stud. Arozarana = stud. Garcia = Stud. Wacha leaves = stud. Bader = performs better (not necesarrily a stud but always a beast). Get rid of Mongtomory. Wins world series. Maddox is the same deal. Ozuna = BEAST. Lane Thomas, Tyler O'Neil, Carlson, and so many others have thrived outside of STL.
Management is a huge shit stain on a city that needs sports to maintain its sanity. We HAVE to be competitive in STL we HAVE to have spirit here, especially after we lost the Rams. Our GM and FO is a complete joke.
This team deserves ALL OUT BUILD TO WIN A WORLD SERIES FROM DAY ONE. Fuck J Mo and fuck the Dewitts they screwed over this city long enough get the fuck out of St. Louis and ruin a different franchise. This place sucks enough as is at least gives us a decent team to watch and fill the stands in October.
Miles is a bottom 5. I say keep Fedde and Gray. Get Alcantara back if we can and SIGN A DECENT YOUNG starting pitcher. Get rid of Matz that dude can't stay healthy. We know he is a good pitcher, but he is too much of a liability. Herrera and Contreras are catcher. We got position players all throughout the line up in AAA. Sagesse is gonna make a push, Burley is locked in as is Wynn. Get Soto. Get us a franchise hitter. Probably need to find a place for Noot and maybe Siani. I am sure we can find some value in those players. Getting Tommy Edman back where he belongs is ideal. If Goldie leaves, we replace him with Burley. I say if we give Goldie a one year deal we better be DEAD set on fixing our rotation to its absolute most sustainable for the future. We HAVE to spend money NOW, or we will not fill a seat in October for a long time. We got to bite a bullet and make a splash.

Go with the kids get coaches that can fix them. Burleson/Baker, at first, will be better and cheaper than Goldschmidt at this point. I still believe a true number one pitcher is more important. I said at the beginning of this year that Matz, Mikolas, was a problem. It will be worse if they are in the starting rotation. A Corbin Burnes type over Gray, Fedde, Pallante, (Prospect like McGreevy or Hence, Graceffo) would be preferable to Matz or Mikolas. We had to hurry to get rid of O'Neill, why are we still planning on Matz? Unfortunately, with the budget threats even talking Arenado into a trade for pitching and replaced with Gorman, Walker, Suggesse, Prieto all are waiting to be everyday players at third. I would hate to do it, but good pitching still beats good hitting. Rooker would be a hitter to get, i wanted him last year.

Rooker has a 32% strike out rate but trading Nootbaar Herrera and Prieto maybe

He's also hitting .302 with 38 HRs 109 RBIs, 10 SBs, an OBP of .371, SLUG .585, an OPS of .956 and an OPS+ of 172... but sure, worry about his strikeout percentage if you must

Please do not bring goldy back. Next Fire the entire coaching staff and front office. Follow that with bringing in the fence because since they finished ball park village Busch has became a terrible place to hit. Hitting is so much about confidence so let's give a boost with that

Walker has been a terrible outfielder, and Burlyman has only been a little better. I would moove Walker to 1st and use Burly as DH, start Siani, Newt and Donovan in the Of, Arenado at 3rd, Wynn at ss, and Tommy Sags at 2b and trade Gorman for some pitching. If we get Scott rolling he can take over cf and Siani becomes the 4th of. Contreras and Herrera at catcher.
