I use it with my phone over BT and computer with the dongle. I have 2 kids, 5 and 3, and I teach ESL remotely. This mic is amazing! I've talked to my sister over FB messenger(via BT) with this headset and vacuumed. She had no idea I was vacuuming and can't hear my kids talking to me unless they are in my face. My classes are on Zoom(dongle) or phone conversation practice(BT). I have a Zoom class on weekend mornings so I take my kids to an indoor play area while I have my class. The other weekend, there was a toddler having a meltdown behind me, less than 10 feet away. I asked my student if they could hear it and he had zero idea! I really love this mic. The only main downside is my ears are quite small so the headset needs to be adjusted often and it falls off easily if not placed correctly. I wish someone made an accessory to make this more like a traditional headphone. My 5200 is still going strong so I don't need to update it. It will definitely last you years and well worth the investment.

Great review David. I recently switched from the Leitner LH380 to this unit and its awesome because it's fully functional with Microsoft Teams unlike the Leitner unit. I only have a couple of cons. The first one being that I get no where near 7 hours of talk time. I would say I get half that before having to charge. The other con is the range. I wish the range was further. Other than those two things I love this headset as it comfortable and I could wear it all day.

I purchased the Plantronics Voyager legend and while it works great with my android phone, the mic doesn't work well with MS Team meetings. The mic was distorted and my voice sounded like I was talking from a tin can. I would not recommend these for those who work from home and attend MS meetings from laptop or PC.

Neither the video nor the instruction booklet clarify that when changing out the rubber ear pieces, its not enough to just turn it and pull out as insinuated by directions. when you turn the piece you must simultaneously "PUSH IN". after you complete turn while pushing in, THEN the rubber ear bud comes out. I tore mine. Lucky I can use the mediums. Another thing not clear is whether or not I can charge this with my Samsung charger? or ONLY with USB port on my computer (using the little pigtail that come with it). It doesn't come with ANY charging unit.

The Evolve 20 would probably have a better microphone as it rests closer to your mouth, and both options are designed for two different kinds of needs.
A question - I am not getting the same results as you are for the noise cancellation. The other person can hear everything in terms of wind, cars or grinder at home. I bought a pair because of the noise cancellation but did I just get a lemon or is there a setting I'm missing?
Uhhhgg, my company just ditched Cisco phones for computer phones using Jabber. My Plantronics Savi 740 only works if I am at my desk and mouse clik to answer the phone. Do you know if there is a way to enable headset clik to answer a call? I know its an older unit but I love it.
The good news is the headset you have wll work with Cisco Jabber to enable the remote answering feature. That being said, you most likely need to download the Plantronics Hub to enable that feature www.poly.com/us/en/support/downloads-apps/hub-desktop

i bought one in malaysia recently. but when i used it to record video by using my phone, the mic does not have any noise cancelling effect. when i checked with the vendor, they told me video recording will use phone mic, to me this just does not make any sense.
Hi Nie, that's normal for the headset as it's not designed to record on the mobile phone. I know it sounds crazy but we've tried the same with the same result! You would need to get an adapter with a lightning plug to USB-A female on the other end. From there you connect the BT600 USB Dongle and it would work.

Airpods don't even come close. These are premium level ear pieces. Airpods are more designed for listening to music. These are for drivers, professional drivers and those that do more business on the phone.

Does this headset have a physical mute button when connected to the computer? I know there're some headsets that have the physical mute button when connected to the cell phone. But one of my scenarios is that I have to take care of my kids while WFH, and I need to unmute the mic to response without going back to my laptop.

@@HarshSingh-cd6nw okay from what I see to know that your phone will announce your callers by name is to simply allow a phone with caller recognition to access your contacts, it will once you have that person saved under your list. Announce accordingly (and not read out the number). If that helps, because it did me. Go to settings once the phone is paired with device find it and select in someway to allow access to your contacts. That's it.

Yes depending on your mobile phone. For example, on the Iphone just like without the headset, you would say "Hey Siri, call Headset Advisor" and the command would be picked up from the headset mic. Does that answer your question?

My Voyager 5200 UC mic volume is low when I talk over calls. Its as if I’m far away from the phone. The problem comes and gos. Can anyone help on this?
What about connecting to a mobile phone? This headset is supposed to do both simultaneously. Us mobile road warriors do A LOT more than just talk over the computer. This video only cover half of the review. Now I need to go look for someone else's review to fill in the missing pieces.

About how long have you had the headset for? Over time the battery will degrade and give you less battery life. Also, customers have reported a similar issue, the charge will show 5hrs but only give you about 3hrs as mentioned.

My pos moto g7 supra cannot pick up a blue tooth signal from this thing.. been at it for an hour and have had no prob with the other dozen I've used.. so frustrating!

IF you need cell phone only connectivity and your main concern is mic noise cancellation, the C300XT is the way to go. But, if you need a mix of connectivity to cell phone and your computer, the 5200 UC is a better option. Both are very good and high quality.
This headset is terrible. I've used the Plantronics PLT for years in the field and after retirement doing Lyft. I switched to this headset and the battery life very short, disconnects frequently so it's a big downgrade from the PLT. Poblem with PLT is life expectancy is about 3 years. Have to confess tho that I was a very heavy user. Also tried different headsets and always came vack to the PLT. I've had about 5 PLTs throughout my careers. Will go back after this one dies.

Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) refers to the speakers. So this headset does have a noise canceling microphone but does not have ANC in the speaker.
So while your talking, the noise cancellation isn’t working? As long as your just listening, noise cancellation works fine… Right?

You can charge the headset with the micro USB cable. The box is not required.
I currently have a Jabra evolve 20. Since it is a low end headset, how does the 5200 compare in terms of mic quality as i use Ring central for soft phone calls
The Evolve 20 would probably have a better microphone as it rests closer to your mouth, and both options are designed for two different kinds of needs.
A question - I am not getting the same results as you are for the noise cancellation. The other person can hear everything in terms of wind, cars or grinder at home. I bought a pair because of the noise cancellation but did I just get a lemon or is there a setting I'm missing?

Uhhhgg, my company just ditched Cisco phones for computer phones using Jabber. My Plantronics Savi 740 only works if I am at my desk and mouse clik to answer the phone. Do you know if there is a way to enable headset clik to answer a call? I know its an older unit but I love it.
The good news is the headset you have wll work with Cisco Jabber to enable the remote answering feature. That being said, you most likely need to download the Plantronics Hub to enable that feature www.poly.com/us/en/support/downloads-apps/hub-desktop

i bought one in malaysia recently. but when i used it to record video by using my phone, the mic does not have any noise cancelling effect. when i checked with the vendor, they told me video recording will use phone mic, to me this just does not make any sense.
Hi Nie, that's normal for the headset as it's not designed to record on the mobile phone. I know it sounds crazy but we've tried the same with the same result! You would need to get an adapter with a lightning plug to USB-A female on the other end. From there you connect the BT600 USB Dongle and it would work.

The USB Dongle doesn't require you to pair to the computer via Bluetooth so it should work. It's like connecting a wireless mouse.

Does this headset have a physical mute button when connected to the computer? I know there're some headsets that have the physical mute button when connected to the cell phone. @@HarshSingh-cd6nw okay from what I see to know that your phone will announce your callers by name is to simply allow a phone with caller recognition to access your contacts, it will once you have that person saved under your list. Announce accordingly (and not read out the number). If that helps, because it did me. Go to settings once the phone is paired with device find it and select in someway to allow access to your contacts. That's it.
Is this one better than the Legend model?
Hi Zekram, the 5200 UC is the replacement to the Legend so we'd say it's an upgrade over the Legend, but both are very similar.

I bought one of these but it seems that the noise cancelling is not as great as shown in the video. I was playing music in the car (not very loud), the background music could be heard very clearly in my recording through this headset recorded on my iPhone 11 Pro
The mic noise cancellation for the recording app may not work the same as when on a phone call, but we have to confirm that for sure.

Using the headset, can it actually dial by name?
Yes depending on your mobile phone. For example, on the Iphone just like without the headset, you would say "Hey Siri, call Headset Advisor" and the command would be picked up from the headset mic. Does that answer your question?
According to Poly/Plantronics it's just supporting Bluetooth v4.1 , not 5
It looks like there's conflicting information because if you look on the Poly 5200 data sheet it shows supporting Bluetooth 5.0 🤔

Am using it but battery I am getting is just 3 hrs and every 10min call the duration shows 20mins... so full charge shows 5hr and I get 3hrs ....
About how long have you had the headset for? Over time the battery will degrade and give you less battery life. Also, customers have reported a similar issue, the charge will show 5hrs but only give you about 3hrs as mentioned.

IF you need cell phone only connectivity and your main concern is mic noise cancellation, the C300XT is the way to go. But, if you need a mix of connectivity to cell phone and your computer, the 5200 UC is a better option. Both are very good and high quality.

This headset is terrible. I've used the Plantronics PLT for years in the field and after retirement doing Lyft. I switched to this headset and the battery life very short, disconnects frequently so it's a big downgrade from the PLT. Poblem with PLT is life expectancy is about 3 years. Have to confess tho that I was a very heavy user. Also tried different headsets and always came vack to the PLT. I've had about 5 PLTs throughout my careers. Will go back after this one dies.
