First, you did an excellent review, I was hoping the m300 would spank the 5200 but unfortunately it went the other way. Literally the best tests on the internet. Danny - you ROCK like a ROCKSTAR!! Listening to these in extreme settings - I think the older 5200 has it. I think BlueParrott might be cleaner but the noise cancelling does not seem to be as comprehensive. When you are not speaking, the 5200 just seems to cancel everything until it hears your voice. The BlueParrott seems to use conventional NC tech to reduce the noise. The poly method is to almost mute the mic until you speak and then try to just send your voice down the line. It results in an almost overprocessed version of your voice at the other end but it is intelligible and I have run many a meeting with it. The BlueParrott seems to be sending your actual voice down the line having reduced the background noise - hence the cleaner sound. However, the 5200 sounds louder and therefore clearer. @@CallOneInc I think you are right. I've seen several reviews comparing these two and every time, the Poly is materially better. I've had my 5200 UC for the last five years and it's one of my go to for loud environments. I also have the Plantronics Voyager 3200 which I use in my vehicle and the Aftershokz OpenComm whenever I'm on virtual meetings that are one to two plus hours in length.
Hi Manny, I also have aftershocks opencomm but I can’t connect it to my computer for Zoom calls! It’s always disconnected! Do you have any idea how to fix this? I tried their support but they are useless
Aesthetically, it's a very deliberate copy of the Poly 5200, but the demonstrations indicate its Noise Reduction performance is not even close. Hands down the 5200 is the superior headset, and the price differential is minimal.
I changed my mind buying M300-XT I'm gonna keep my 5200. If the battery of M300-XT last 14hrs but the microphone sucks you're just gonna punish the person you're talkin' with hearing you. I'd rather use the 5200 eventhough the battery only last less than 7 hours but the person you're talking with on the phone for sure comfortable and will hear you clearly. Yes M300-XT have bluetooth 5.1 and USB-C but is that enough for you to brag your product when your audio (mic & speaker) quality are way too cheap? I've wasted money buying small bluetooth blue parrot head set because the audio quality really sucks. But I appreciate those big blue parrot headset products but not those small one. Anyway, you're review to the products on this video were awesome! Thanks!
@@CallOneInc My experience so far is exactly what is seen in reviews -> headset doesnt have typical seal in ear, voice is clear but little more subtle. Also I feel like they will fall down from head any moment, but they hold :-).

Hi javan! Yes, Helicopter pilot revved up the engine more during BlueParrott. Both performed well in this extreme test. Personally, I have been a fan of the Poly Voyager 5200 for years. Great question we are asked frequently. Short answer: Yes. If your laptop supports Bluetooth, you can pair headset directly. You will lose some functionality if using UC platforms and applications like Teams and Zoom. For a example, you will not have Remote Call Control (RCC): Ability to answer/end calls from the headset. Some users have reported the inability to adjust volume or use mute from the headset. Depending on the Bluetooth Profiles supported by your laptop, you only have the option to “listen only” and not have transmit audio from the mic. Headset brands and PC manufacturers are working towards a dongle-less solution but it’s not here yet. Hope this helps. Contact us if you would like more help! Great testing videos! I bought the Poly Voyager but the noise cancelling stopped working after a few hours. My coworker could hear all my background noise. haha I tested on Microsoft Teams on iphone and regular call on iphone. Will try the BlueParrott. Thx!
Hi Aurelius, sorry to hear that. I have used the Poly (formerly Plantronics) Voyager 5200 for years now and it's been a solid performer. No headset mic blocks 100% of background noise but it should suppress enough so your voice is prominent. I would love to understand your use case and the source of noise. I have a question about this 1-ear-device. When you have telephone conversation in this noisy environment, are you able to hear the other party talking? I find I have trouble hearing clearly in the noisy environment. I have to block other ear canal to hear.
Hi, dabaox! Great question! In a noisy environment, hearing audio from a single speaker is challenging. Based on my tests, the Poly Voyager 5200 is louder than the BlueParrott M300-XT. However, I recently received the newer MX300-XT SE. I plan to compare it with the original. I have also been testing a newer version of the Yealink BH71, which has increased the speaker's volume, but I am still testing. To answer your question, plugging your open ear in extremely noisy environments like a helicopter or lawnmower will help improve the audio.
@@dabaox Yes, headsets with ANC speakers and solid NC mic are better options for noisy environments. Here's a link to page featuring ANC headsets from multiple vendors: calloneinc.com/active-noise-cancelling-headsets/
Ughh i Hate how undecisive I can be. I work from home and I need something that can cancel out. My little one in the background or the TV. I'm leaning towards the blue parrott. Thoughts??
Hi monacakes1! What are you pairing/connecting the headset to/with? Based on my tests, no headset mic blocks 100% of noise. Especially higher pitched sounds like barking dogs and crying/screaming children. However, when you have a good noise canceling mic in conjunction with Noise Suppression via platforms like Zoom, Teams, and Google Meet, the amount of noise suppressed improves. Based on my tests and long term use, I would select the Poly Voyager 5200 over the BlueParrott M300-XT. The more I know about your use case, the better. People watching in 2024, get the voyager 5200. The blueparrot one sucks like a vaccumcleaner. It was good initially, for my day long virtual training sessions. But down about 2 years and it has all but earned me a reputation of living "on the road" while on calls. My house's about half a kilometer away from any busy road. The listeners just keep complaining about lack of clarity and my voice sounding muffled . The BLUEPARROTP MXT has only gone down in performance and there's been no software updates since. Really bad for it's price.
Thank you so much for sharing your real world experience! BlueParrott sent me another stating they had made upgrades however, based on my tests, I didn’t hear an improvement. Their B450-XT is a solid performer but it’s a much larger form factor. Again, appreciate your candid feedback!

Could you try another similar test using some app voice call ? Such as WhatsApp voice call. Because when I use Voyager 5200 on WhatsApp call, my friend said she can listen my background noise including other peoples noise, baby crying etc...But when I switch to normal phone call, the noise dismissed...I am using Samsung Note 10+ with latest Android and latest 5200 firmware.

I bought the M300-XT and the app is buggy. When you connect the headset to two iPhones and you received a call from one of your iPhones, the headset will keep on saying "Your headset is connected". Hello again, ར乙ą𝑐! Yes, I wish all brands transitioned to USB-C charging. Some have started however, there are still models using micro-USB or proprietary charging cable (i.e. Shokz). Thanks for your comments!
First of all, I love your channel. Amazing! How is it even possible that you only have 7k subs. You deserve a hundred times as much. Following questions: I'm regularly working at the beach and I'd like to block out as much surrounding sounds as possible during Zoom/Meet sessions. Which headset would you prefer? Voyager 5200, Focus 2, Jabra or ...?
I've had 2 Voyager 5200's die on me in the last several years and it's really frustrating. It seems like I only get 2 years life out of them before people tell me they cannot hear or understand me anymore and I have to disconnect the headset and speak into my phone :-(
Thank you for watching and sharing your experience with the Voyager 5200. You sound like a power user. I’m interested in learning your average daily use. Some folks they are in calls all day but maybe only average 30 min-2hrs per day. Then there are those that are truly on all day averaging 6-8hrs + per day. There are so many factors that can impact overall life of a headset. Average lifespan for Bluetooth headsets is 1-3 years these days. Would love to learn more about your personal use case.
@@CallOneInc I would say I'm a power user, yeah. I commented using the wrong YT account. I should have used my business one. haha. Oh well. Anyway, I do spend several hours a day on the phone (not 6 though) and then I used my headsets of an evening to listen to podcasts and youtube videos and stuff. Usually I drained a charge every day. The audio would still work for ME but what happened with BOTH headsets (both voyagers) was other people told me they couldn't hear me, even in zero noise environments. Have you heard of this before?
@@D20Pub Thanks for sharing. I have not heard this. I will definitely share with our Poly Contacts to see if this is a known issue or isolated incident. Really do appreciate you sharing. It's great to hear from actual daily users of these products. Because I test so many products, it's challenging to do long-term tests. However, the Voyager 5200 UC was my default/go-to headset when I was traveling. It held up well for a few years and then travel stopped. You know, because of this whole global pandemic thing. I'll keep you posted if Poly shares any insight.
@@CallOneInc Thanks. I'm going to buy the Voyage UC 5200 and pay the protection plan through Amazon for 3 years to see if it holds up. I love the idea of being able to use it with my computer too. Hi Okinawa Nah! Over the ear headsets can an issue for people wearing prescription glasses or sunglasses depending on their ears. I used the Poly Voyager 5200 for years while wearing sunglasses and I didn't have a problem. That said, the thickness of the frames, shape of ear, gap between earlobe and head, and personal preferences all play a role in comfort. BlueParrott is junk especially compared to plantronics products. I mean plantronics is the oldest headset company in the world with majority of all headset patents. All call centers use plantronics, including agencies such as FAA, and NASA. There noise cancelling is 2nd to none. The only other brand that comes close to their quality and effectiveness is Jabra

@@Cryptopolice911 Just saw your comment now. Did you ever get it to work out? I've used them on Zoom, Teams, Meet, Webex with no problems.
Thanks!
Truly appreciate you watching and sharing your experience, thought process, and feedback, MY DAILY TECHNOLOGY! 😃

That's rite. My wife uses the voyager. She's loud and clear. 😆
😊 Thanks for sharing MR. B!
So EXTREME! Amazing job, Next video you should skydive on a zoom call, haha!

Thank you for your review. In the end I bought m300xt for calls in my car because in our country there is bigger difference in price.
Thank you for sharing! Keep us posted on your experience with it! 👍
@@CallOneInc My experience so far is exactly what is seen in reviews -> headset doesnt have typical seal in ear, voice is clear but little more subtle. Also I feel like they will fall down from head any moment, but they hold :-).

Holy snap I've been waiting for BlueParrott to come out with a new design!
@@CallOneInc Absolutely! Their headsets have been HUGE lol
looks like your decimal reader was around 10db higher when you were testing the blue parrot... they both did good though. I'm switching to this style soon, so i appreciate your work
Hi javan! Yes, Helicopter pilot revved up the engine more during BlueParrott. Both performed well in this extreme test. Personally, I have been a fan of the Poly Voyager 5200 for years. It was my headset of choice when I was traveling on business. It's discreet, portable, and solid performer regardless of where I was.
My customers is tired to hear my co-workers on a call. Sometimes the customer asks "Do your coworker sits on your lap?.." . And then - got 5200. Perfect 👌

@@CallOneInc I am a truck driver and I am needing one with good noise cancelling.
It's been ages now and by this comparison, plantronics is still the best. Not the best best but the audio quality is just there on top. Great review.
Can I connect the Voyager 5200 to a windows laptop without using its bluetooth usb dongle?

Mic placement is important and ensuring you have the latest firmware updates via Plantronics Hub desktop software or mobile app. I hope you find something that works well. Keep us updated!

@@CallOneInc thank you. in the end, ANC+a boom mic is the best? increasing sound volume damages hear.

It's good you return back to the office!
Where are you recording the audio from the headphones? When I use iPhone voice memos I can still hear background noise.
Hi Pauline H! Great question! The iPhone defaults to built in microphones when recording video or audio. I use an app called Recorder Plus that allows me to record using Bluetooth devices: itunes.apple.com/app/id502271511

Hi NCNU VINCENT! I will try. The challenge is capturing a recording from Whatsapp. I don't believe it has record feature. I'll see what we can do. Thanks for watching!
I bought the M300-XT and the app is buggy. When you connect the headset to two iPhones and you received a call from one of your iPhones, the headset will keep on saying "Your headset is connected". My firmware is updated to v1.06 and I believe this is the latest. Not sure if someone else is experiencing the same. Other than that, great headset and no complain.

Voyager 5200 is the best.
I use Google voice and record videos a lot and have to use a Plantronics USB headset. So one headset to replace both for phone and computer seems great
@@CallOneInc So I bought the Poly 5200 UC and it seems to be working well EXCEPT when trying to record using my screen capture program. There is crackle in the audio. Have you experienced this? Any suggested fixes?

For extra credit try it at an airport or aircraft carrier and live fire at the outdoor range 😎😎
When we first started this channel and when I traveled, I did film some videos from an airport terminal. An aircraft carrier may be tough but I won't rule out an outdoor range. 😁

Hi M C! Tell us what you really think! 😂 Appreciate you watching and sharing your feedback. We accept all feedback, the good, bad and the ugly. 😃
Thanks for sharing your feedback, Nick! Plantronics (now Poly) and Jabra are solid brands. Did you know Jabra GN owned BlueParrott? They acquired them back in 2016. See Press Release article here: www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/gn-audio-jabra-has-acquired-vxi-and-blueparrott-300344136.html
