  • Jacques Pépin’s final cooking series will begin on October 8 at its San Francisco studios. Like his previous series, Jacques Pépin: Heart & Soul will feature Pépin teaching the skills necessary for success in the kitchen, sharing favorite recipes and demonstrating the timeless cooking techniques that make him a master. But it will also reveal more about Pépin to viewers than ever before. Pépin will reflect back to his earlier days in the kitchen and in front of the camera with never-before-seen footage from Pépin at home and favorite clips from his earlier series. The 26-episode series is set to broadcast on PBS stations in fall of 2015.

Jacques Pepin, erudite, witty, interesting, all-around master & guru. My favorite chef of all time. Thanks for this interview.

    Class can't be understated.
A few of my "Jacques books" are falling apart. It's a good thing I have many.
Thanks, JP, for a lifetime of life.

I think what we love most about Jacques Pepin is his simplicity and his down to earth character even though he has known across many countries. When I asked what his favourite wine is, he never goes into a specific year or brand, simply saying that he rarely spends more than 10 or $12 on a good bottle of wine. Unpretentious and authentic. That is what we love about Jacques!

Jacques Pépin is like a dog; whenever I feel stressed or down, my big dog flopping his body over my lap brings me solace, and in seconds, I feel good. Watching Jacques also, always, helps me to feel well. Thanks you kind sir. Loved, "Nella" the carrot's story!

Wow -- that Lin Yutang quotation! That'll stick with me.
Now, my favourite Jacques Pepin quotation, "A recipe is an expression of a particular moment in time."

After watching an arrogant blowhard like Gordon Ramsay it's always refreshing to see a humble, dignified man such as Jacques Pepin. Look forward to his new series.

Ramsay isn't fit to tie Jacques apron strings.

+Siwena govrom12 is correct. Ramsay is an arrogant blowhard without a humble bone in his body.

@@worldcitizeng6507 Jacques is my favorite cooking teacher, been a fan for decades. Follow his instructions and you can get a real meal on the table in 30 minutes. But there's a difference between TV and real life, and Ramsay's "Kitchen" shows are pure television nonsense. His restaurants, on the other hand, are sublime, with 7 Michelin stars at present and 16 awarded in total. Watch Ramsay's cooking shows, or better yet, Master Class series, and you'll see his genius.

The woman conducting this interview is just a mess and very distracting to the viewer. If it's not her hair, it's her notes. If it's not her notes, it's her fake nods in faux recognition of what Pepin has to say. She comes across so nervous and worst of all, she doesn't even seem like she is that interested to hear what one of the best chefs in the world has to say. Totally ruins for me what would have been a wonderful interview.

Hard to believe his net worth is only 20 million (est.) 63 years cooking, an internationaly accomplished chef, 27 books in print, various TV series, DVDs, teaching at prestigious schools, lecturing, etc. The man must have a really poor manager, if at all. A 22 year old punk assed junk bond trader can make more than that in just a few years. A top acter can make more that in one movie up front. Former presidents make in excess of 200,000 per speech. That freakin goone Bill O'Riely is worth 70 million.
