  • Tabletop overview of the 2013 SGL31-68 SAIGA. This is my primary rifle so it gets a lot of love. Out of over 1200 rounds absolutely zero issues minus the 2/3 malfunctions I had tuning the gas piston. Once I close the adjustable gas off (with no suppressor) she runs like a sewing machine. One thing I didn’t mention is the Kalashnikov Concern AK-12 magazine. She’s authentic. Everything else is listed in the video. Enjoy!
    PS: Rear of the Klesch 1 Gen 2 light was loose the screws had backed out some at some point. Tightened em back down good to go now!

    She is enthralling homes... I also have 31-68 from 2013 #813, and just like you, my rifle went through a metamorphosis to end up with a similar set up as your. IMO there is something very special about the 2013 Saiga series, the craftsmanship & fidelity appear to me as superior than other AK SGL series.Excellent detailed review!

      Last year of production as well before the merge to what is now Kalashnikov Concern. So technically we got the last real IZHMASH SAIGA’s. Let me know what you think of the IWI GALIL ACE SAR 8.3” SBR I’ll do an overview later. 5.45x39. 117/545 imported. Thanks for watching and thank you for the kind words.

    Greetings from Russia!
    Super gun!
    It is with such a set that our Special Operations Forces and other specialists are fighting!
    All this has been tested in battles, and this is the best guarantee!
    I have such a kit for the citizen AKM of 1965 (original, auto file deleted), only the rifle butt is different (not folding due to laws)
    Good luck to you! keep doing the right reviews .

    Beautiful, beautiful build. I love these AK modernization builds. IMO, from this build, I would only change the handguard, use a longer one, covering the entire gas tube, to give me more holding and attachments options and also for safety. Dont want to risk puting my fingers where it shouldnt be.

    • @gnomereviews
      @gnomereviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On this particular example I like the shorter hand guards. For functionality and aesthetics. If it were an AK-105 style SBR I’d definitely go with the leader kit. Longer hand guards. Thanks for watching! Check out the 1/1 KR-103SFS lmk what you think. AK-103 with the correct IZHMASH furniture and internals.

    Nice set up. I have literally the identical set up but I’m running MePro reflex with magnifier and on an SLR 104 fr I’ve got over 20,000 rounds through mine. I’d beat it to hell with the weight and the adjustable piston along with the AKT trigger you can get a lot of shots on target so fast.

      You are absolutely right. Check my most recent short with the 74 ALPHA. She’s braced up. Not many views. 15 rounds burst fired. KNS piston closed. Little over 1200 rounds as of now. 2013 IZHMASH SGL31-68 SAIGA.

    Great looking rifle & set up!
    I use both 7.62 & 5.45 x39, but 5.45 is my favorite.
    Your BFG sling - is that one of their custom slings or did you get the hardware separately and set it up that way?
    Thank you for the shout-out to BFG! 👍

    • @gnomereviews
      @gnomereviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Blue Force Gear Vickers Padded sling. Stay tuned for my next video. Colt Law Enforcement Carbine. Same sling. Only thing I’m waiting on as of now is the Fortis RAP Picatinny rail attachment point w QD sling swivel. Magpul QD is too wide for the Knights MRE rail and the adapter for it would have to be backwards to be on the left side I need so I ordered the Fortis as well. Back to your original question. BFG used to sell this model sling with different hardware options. When I bought my most recent sling the hardware options weren’t the same. So they have changed things a little bit at least at BFG.

    Man thats a great looking gun. I wish so bad there were no import bans and we could have more access to AK's and other guns. I have a 922r compliant Type 56 Norinco, It's my only one and I love it but I'm wanting more AK's. I seriously think I have 8-10 AR-15's in the safe but I'm wanting to start up with more AK's but they make it so hard with all the damn laws.

      I plan to buy another IZHMASH SGL31-68 SAIGA like the one pictured asap. I have a 1980’s NOS IZHMASH plum stock set. Even a plum Russian rubber pad for the stock. Two plum IZHMASH mags. All I need is another Russian AK74 muzzle brake. I’ll get the second SAIGA asap. I recommend getting a SAIGA SGL21 or SGL31 and if those are out of your budget get an Arsenal SLR 104FR Bulgarian copy of the SGL31-94.

      @@gnomereviews What I want so bad is the Arsenal AK-74 104FR. T. Rex Arms has a great youtube on one of them but a) good luck finding one and b) good luck finding ammo for it. • @gnomereviews

      Absolutely. Questions are always welcomed. Only issue is now you will pay a premium due to import restrictions and the Ukraine war. All of this was bought long before the war began. There are a couple of websites state side that carry this furniture. Also you can still order directly from Russian distributors. You just have to pay for “discreet shipping”. Hope this helps.

Well over 1K rounds now (keeping the round count lower for my son) never had a single malfunction of any sort. Not even a stove pipe. It’s had multiple stock sets. Came with cracked Bulgy furniture. First owner put 200 through her. Never shoot 7n6 or anything corrosive 7n6 for emergencies only. Silver Bear is my primary defense load in 5.45x39 being it tumbles earliest in gel. Follow my on IG I post a lot pics and videos there. Lmk what you think of the Gen 1 Galil ACE 117/545. Well over 1K rounds zero issues of any kind. Have a nice day. Your going off Larry Vickers American parts for a Russian rifle. Regarding modernizing the Kalashnikov ZenitCo is the only way. Otherwise it’s classic AK-100 series furniture for me. I have a 1980’s IZHMASH NOS plum set with the correct cleaning kit in the stock and plum rubber pad.
