Psychologically this advice turns into lifestyle and that turns into kids and family that are money hungry and greedy, this advice creates insecure kids (sometimes apathetic or very individualistic).
If you think giving a whole apple is bad you should see how much food is wasted in school cafeterias with "free" breakfast etc also lunch too. Kids take food and throw it straight into the garbage untouched.....!!!!
My family is Christian, but we always said my mom was the perfect Jewish mother. She was so proud of that, because Jewish moms are amazing, they really are. They know what’s what!
I miss my bubby and Zaydie. Such wisdom. Her last words to me in the hospital. “Always dress as nicely as you act and you will be ever successful”! That was 1979. She was right always.
My grandmum from NY said always wear clean underwater, you never know, you may go around a corner and meet the queen of England... But granmah she'll never know....ah, she said....you'll know!
I don’t know how the TH-cam algorithm brought this to my feed but I am glad it did. Grandma Dina is a doll and a treasure!!! Bring her back if you can!!!
This literally just saved me $129. I watched this video this morning and just now I went to Target and bought a comforter that was $129. I never ever check my receipts, but today I did because of this video. Sure enough, they charged me twice for the comforter. Thank you Grandma Dina! ❤
Not Jewish, but who cares. I love people with common sense like my parents. I can listen to grandma Dina all day long. A calm voice, is a wise voice. Thanks for sharing.
I am a Muslim and totally agree with grandma. This was grand wisdom. I think all our grand moms were full of wisdom. Home cooked meals, not over buying and not spoiling children with tons of toys. She is so right, if you want to develop your child’s focus, give him a few things to play with. I only introduced my child to a Tarzan book which we would read every night for months. We then went and watched the movie and he was thrilled because he knew all the characters, clothes are another complete waste of money. Hand me downs were the best thing. Those who fall into the advertising trap become literally hypnotized. They don’t understand that all they want is for you to think that what you already have is outdated, old and not good enough. This is the oldest way to lure. And then pay these influencers tons of money to promote their ridiculous products. We call all live so well with what we already have. Please listen to her
Our kids flood their kids with toys weekly, if not daily. A quick look, and the kids search for something else. You cannot buy love, you give it and receive it.
This is Grandmama Liu, a Chinese descendant from 🇹🇼 Taiwan. Thank you, Grandma Dina. What amazing similarities! I have done exactly the same things like you. Our children can immediately identify them. You really encouraged my heart. All my life I felt inferior living in this wealthy and materialistic country and under the pressure of not sharing the same values. I thank God for giving us the wisdom (common sense), courage and persistence. When that big Day comes, everyone is accountable to God.
Hey Dina, I remember my Irish Catholic mother taking me to Cafe for something to eat when I was a child and just having a cup ot tea herself. When I asked why she wasn't eating she said the same thing-she wasn't hungry. Hearing you say that brought me to tears. The sacrifices our mothers make-all colours and religions and that is why we love them. I bet your grandchildren love you 🙏
I've only watched 3:44 minutes of this and I'm already in love with this lady. She is sharing the wisdom she already paid for, and she's giving it to us for free!
Grandma’s recommendation to check your receipts is spot on. The food stores almost always have a mistake in their computer system, never in your favor. Some stores have a policy that if an item is wrung up incorrectly and you go to Customer Service to fix it, you get that item for free. I have saved hundreds and hundreds of dollars over the years. Just checking my receipts.
It’s hard to stand there and check your receipt when there’s a line of impatient people waiting to check out behind you. I’m not going to be that person to hold up the line. If it costs me a couple bucks, so be it.
People including family members thinking am doing to much by collecting and checking my receipt, don't care even if I am buying salt! I go further by keeping the receipts for at least for 1 month.
@@lessehead You don't check the receipt on the spot. You move away & check it. Then if there's a problem, you take it to the service counter. The cashier has often scanned an item twice when there was only one. At big supermarkets we also get that item for free. I much prefer to self serve & scan then pay for my own items.
This woman is a national treasure. Actually, most grandmothers are. She is almost a twin of my Cuban grandmother, who passed away five years ago. I miss her so... it was wonderful to hear this lovely grandmother sharing her advice. God bless her and keep her.
You are a smart person because it doesn't matter what your religion is. A wise person learns from everything that can improve his life. And the most important thing is to respect every person regardless of who they are, and to be satisfied and happy with what you have.
NYC Jewish older women are the coolest to be around. They are loud and talk a lot but such a sense of humor, kind and honest, always have advice and spice up any events. Also the Italian neighborhoods are a trip. They also have them in Jersey and Boston.
All these great advice reminds me of what my nana said when my brothers and I accidentally broke her vase. My mom was super apologetic for what we kids did and my nana said, "It's ok. Things are meant to be broken, but people are meant to be loved."
Grandma Dina is a national treasure. Growing up in New York I've been blessed with many Jewish friends---and an added bonus is inheriting their parents and grandparents too. Our elders (of all faiths/ethnicities) are full of wisdom that we must drink up. Thank you, Kosher Money! Such a great program.
Exactly! Younger people have no idea how valuable older folks are. Istead of being ageist against the elderly, kids today need to be made aware how valuable they are. They need to be listened to and held to the highest esteem! How do ya think they made it to that age? Not by winning a Darwin Award, that's for sure.
Grandma Dina is so authentic. I miss sitting around the dining room table with Nana Pauline and my mom and Aunt listening to Nana's stories and words of wisdom. She also learned to laugh a lot. She and Poppy escaped Russia and Poland to avoid WWII. They made it to the USA right before the war broke out. So, the wisdom and comedy we gained from them is invaluable. 💕💕 old Jewish wisdom is like salt on eggs. You don't realize how necessary it is until you've tasted it.
My family fled the USSR to Israel. Lovely Dina here highly resembles both of my grandmothers. It's crazy how unified the Jewish culture is; Jewish grandmas will always feel like Jewish grandmas, no matter where they live in the world, lmao.
My family are Jews from Spain and Morocco. Moved to France in the early 50's. Both Grandmas look like Dina( especially the Spanish one!!) Dina is Ashkenazi from Eastern and/or Central Europe, but still looks like a Hebrew Matriarch. Our Mothers/GrandMothers are gold. Bless them.
Love this woman she reminds me of my late darling Lebanese mother - I wish I had listened and taken in all of my mother’s wisdom - I vote for her as President :)

This is how I grew up in Morocco where resources were limited. We grew up to appreciate and use these resources carefully and efficiently...never threw food away! I think this beautiful grandma grew during hard times..
MyJewish Moroccan family moved to France in the 50s. Never went back. I heard all my childhood how they miss their lives there and always had a lot of Moroccan friends in France. I feel very Moroccan ( especially the food and the music), even if I have never been there yet. God bless the Maroc and its People.

I don’t know how old this lovely lady is, but we might be about the same age. I agree with her 199% on everything. Everything Grandma Dina said is how I lived my life. “Waste not, want not”. My fathers favorite expression was “All things in moderation. “
as a childcare provider, the point about the toys is SO ACCURATE!! all of the kids i take care of that have a plethora of toys can't even focus on one thing for more than a few minutes, and they don't seem happier for it
I am not Jewish but I am loving this!! I agree with her about toys...to add to her thoughts on the subject...kids who get too many toys don't appreciate them. Same thing when parents buy their kids new cars without making them pay for at least half. They don't take care of the car, and if they wreck it... parents buy a replacement. Kids don't understand the value or responsibility.❤
Sooo true. I'm glad your said that about toys. Her statement about wooden blocks made cry: that was such a beautiful thing, to just use one's imagination and to physically interact with the blocks. Anyhow, you're totally right about kids not appreciating toys if they have too many, and especially right about the car thing! Yes pay for half! As a kid who was spoiled myself, I can attest: I did not appreciate what it took to Buy this car, I did Not take good care of it - didn't even know How, really - and when it overheated and blew the head gasket, who paid to have it fixed? My poor, dear Dad who worked so hard in his life and deserved a much better daughter. So you see, if you don't manage to teach your children about responsibility and consequences, you just make yourself And them less happy. (It wasn't my dad who didn't discipline us. It was like living between two opposites.) Anyhow, what Gramma D. said: "And they were better off for it!" For the less-distracting number of toys. Etc. And borrowing? We used to borrow books from each other. I think people still do that.. Or kitchen tools, or ... You have to know your neighbors though. There's less of that now..
She is the grandma we all need. Love her!! Miss my grandparents so much, could listen to this wonderful lady’s advice and wisdom every day! PLEASE give her a channel of her own!!
I had a Jewish grandmother and she was fantastic! "Grammy" had a wealth of information and solid advice. She's been gone for 41 years, but, her words are still very clear, in my mind, today.
Loving all the comments from different religions, cultures, and people loving Grandma Dina. You can learn, love, and appreciate from others different than you. ❤
This is AWESOME!!! I feel like I'm listening to my parents. My parents came here from Italy with $500. My dad had a job lined up, and soon bought a car. My mom worked as a seamstress and cleaning lady. Later they bought a house, then they bought a two-flat for rental income. These are true pearls of wisdom that will never go out of style. Talking to your kids about these kind of things is so important. I think in most families today, there are no discussions about all of this, and beyond. Even when she said to check the receipts...I was told that all the time. My parents both passed in the last year, so this kind of brought tears to my eyes. I kept thinking of what they would say if they were watching this : )
Love this episode! I am Chinese, but my mom and this sweet grandma. My mom used to make her own and the kids' clothes. When friends sees them, they would ask where my mom bought it from, my mom would proudly tell them she made it, and friends would end up buying from her. We didn't take showers till I was a teenager. We only had a bucket of water and that's the only amount we can use to save money. Any extra money we had, mom would put it into a savings account, in different currencies to hedge against risk. We then put money into real estate, but more focused as my dad ran a factory and his theory was "things need to be made, so factory space is important part of society". As my parents were building their wealth, my dad became a huge watch enthusiast, but he always buys used and always find a diamond in the rough. And this grandma is right, finding a good bargain is fun! I remember I found a thin jacket for USD 6. I was wearing it one day and my dad saw it and asked me how much it was, I told him $6, and it turned into conversation of the day. I now teach my kids to buy used toys and share amongst themselves. She's right, we don't borrow anymore. When I was a kid, my friend and I would exchange toys and Nintendo games for a week.my sister would borrow friend's clothes. I got a bunch of hand me downs. We are blessed that we got a lot of hand me downs for my kids.
Sharing economy. I live in Yangjiang and whenever I need a scooter or air conditioner or TV or toaster oven I go to those second-hand stores with huge piles from hotels that went out of business. Whenever I need a new laptop or computer monitor it's all second-hand. And then whenever somebody needs something I give it to them. My motorcycles, my lighters, some trinket around my house, women just like to take them.

He is the Sacrificial Holy Lamb of God;

GOD IS LOVE, and He LOVES YOU and wants you to be saved.

How are you doing with saving money to buy your new home.
If she’s an example of a Jewish Grandma .. we ALL need one! This lady has a lot of wisdom! She should start her own podcast! ❤️🕊
Jewish grandmas are the best. Sharp in words and so loving inside.
Mine was a manipulative kvetch.

ALL Nanas have good advice… the living libraries in old Mamas!!!

Hi to my Jewish Brothers & Sisters, I am a UK muslim who is proud to have attended a Jewish Junior school, God Bless, Grandma Dina rocks ❤❤❤
What a lovely comment, god bless you.

Salam brother/ sister 👋🏻
Happy to have found a Muslim brotha/ sista
Respecting your elders isn’t just a polite practice. It encourages them to shower you with their gifts of wisdom.
She’s so right on the produce and sale item scanning at grocery stores. It’s why I always opt for self checkout lol
Couldn't care less about her religion (or anyone else's for that matter) she is just sharing straight up wisdom and truth.
You have a religion too...hope it helps you !
She's ethnically Jewish. More than just a religion
It’s also her ethnicity , which also happens to be the most hate crimes so it’s good to represent
*crimed
Wisdom from God, mind you.
I'm not Jewish but what a wise lady. We can learn so much form you. Thank you.
Psychologically this advice turns into lifestyle and that turns into kids and family that are money hungry and greedy, this advice creates insecure kids (sometimes apathetic or very individualistic).
Brilliant.
and funny
"Don't give them a whole apple to eat" needs to be on a sign in every kitchen.
Easier to eat cut up and they might finish it cut up. Kids are afraid of the seed and the core of the apple which is why they just have a few bites.
If you think giving a whole apple is bad you should see how much food is wasted in school cafeterias with "free" breakfast etc also lunch too. Kids take food and throw it straight into the garbage untouched.....!!!!
@@nunyabiz2117yes, it’s terrible.

I am a muslim and enjoyed the episode so much ❤
Welcome! 🤍

Please don't hate us 🇮🇱🙏
I'm not even slightly Jewish, but this is like listening to my own mother of Caribbean heritage ❤
Definitely but then again many in the states say that 🇯🇲 and Jewish community share some commonalities
Not Jewish myself, but I have a lot of respect for the lady, this is how my mother raised me
Not Jewish either, but she has some good tips. This is how my grandmother was. I learned a lot from her.
My mum too. Wise women indeed
🙏🏻💚🌺
Mine too. So, these days I don't live like most people, and don't have the problems they do either.
Its tips by a Jewish lady, you don't have to be Jewish nor a lady to get them, they're free
ALL WHITES ARE HEBREW JEW IS A RELIGION HEBREW IS THE RACE
Grandma should be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize
absolutely, and we need to see her to write something for our family!!!
For the Economy NP
Why? Nothing new to us, european
I was captivated by Grandma's reassuring stories and by her heartwarming character!🇯🇵
My family is Christian, but we always said my mom was the perfect Jewish mother. She was so proud of that, because Jewish moms are amazing, they really are. They know what’s what!
😊

Are Jewish girls allowed to marry out of Judaism!?😲
Not all are. But what was it that you all identified as a trait of “ Jewish mothers “ that you called your mom that?
Dina is an international treasure!! The Grandma no one knew they needed.
I miss my bubby and Zaydie. Such wisdom. Her last words to me in the hospital. “Always dress as nicely as you act and you will be ever successful”! That was 1979. She was right always.
Great advice. Am sure we both notice people who dress nice not necessarily rich will get attention.
My grandmum from NY said always wear clean underwater, you never know, you may go around a corner and meet the queen of England...
But granmah she'll never know....ah, she said....you'll know!
Now I pray for all of the Jewish people suffering this Nov. 7 2023. God has a special place for the Jewish people.
THIS VIDEO saved you $129? The screen at the checkout line saying $258 wasn't enough to tip you off?
My partner taught me to always go through the self-checkout for this reason. You can do it yourself, make sure it's right.
You didn’t realize that at the register???
@@smargo7884 maybe she bought lots of stuff, not just the comforter.

Please listen to her
reading is fundamental
You are right, we are trained into consumerism, it's like mindless game .....
Less is more😉
Our kids flood their kids with toys weekly, if not daily. A quick look, and the kids search for something else. You cannot buy love, you give it and receive it.
absolutely!
These ARE the values of older generations . The media including music has been used to push materialism and consumerism in the last few decades or so.
Hi Grandmama Liu, we are not all that way here! Sorry we did not meet, sounds like we have a lot in common. ;)
- from a grandmama aged friend
she have great sense of style, look at what she wearing, elegance, subtle but not dull.
Hey Dina,
I remember my Irish Catholic mother taking me to Cafe for something to eat when I was a child and just having a cup ot tea herself. When I asked why she wasn't eating she said the same thing-she wasn't hungry. Hearing you say that brought me to tears. The sacrifices our mothers make-all colours and religions and that is why we love them. I bet your grandchildren love you
🙏
Love your memories.
Brought back some memories similar nature.
Loved those Grandparent days.
Thank you.
I've only watched 3:44 minutes of this and I'm already in love with this lady. She is sharing the wisdom she already paid for, and she's giving it to us for free!
Me too
Me too
Her accent alone is already worth my time watching this video 😁♥️
As a Jew from way out of NY it actually hurts my brain.😢😅
I could listen to these seniors all day. They're wise people..
She reminds me of my wife -- who never told me she was Jewish. 😂 Grandma is perfectly right, of course. Refreshingly down-to-earth.
😂😂😂❤
Why didn’t she tell you she was Jewish?
I'm not Jewish but I like Grandma's wisdom.
she is more than amazing!!!!
Hugs to grandma Dina, she’s a star.
This woman is a national treasure. Actually, most grandmothers are. She is almost a twin of my Cuban grandmother, who passed away five years ago. I miss her so... it was wonderful to hear this lovely grandmother sharing her advice. God bless her and keep her.
I’m Muslim & grandma Dina is AMAZING!!
You are a smart person because it doesn't matter what your religion is. A wise person learns from everything that can improve his life. And the most important thing is to respect every person regardless of who they are, and to be satisfied and happy with what you have.
She is amazing!
❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@mw5556 you are 100% correct! My mom teaches the same things!
I’m happy there are still open minded people out here
She deserves her own TV programme, wise common sense and she is very likeable
NYC Jewish older women are the coolest to be around. They are loud and talk a lot but such a sense of humor, kind and honest, always have advice and spice up any events. Also the Italian neighborhoods are a trip. They also have them in Jersey and Boston.
Gosh, kids seem to look at wisdom as attempt to control them. I agree with you, it's a gift! Secrets to the good life for FREE!
She is amazing! All her advices are just perfect for today's generation...!
Dina, the whole country needs a Mother and Grandmother like you !! Bless you!!
All these great advice reminds me of what my nana said when my brothers and I accidentally broke her vase. My mom was super apologetic for what we kids did and my nana said, "It's ok. Things are meant to be broken, but people are meant to be loved."
Just love her❤!
Mrs Dina, I admire you. Thanks from Italy
This lady is giving out jewels grab what you can.
Elders with knowledge are irreplaceable.
Thank you for sharing wisdom ❤️🙏
Not Jewish (Hispanic) but luv grandma Dina! And the morals and ethics I find in many in these types of TH-cam’s!
Loved this! She IS spectacular
Both Grandmas look like Dina( especially the Spanish one!!) Dina is Ashkenazi from Eastern
and/or Central Europe, but still looks like a Hebrew Matriarch.
Our Mothers/GrandMothers are gold.
Bless them.
❤
My grandma had exactly the same ideas. She was German.
Love this woman she reminds me of my late darling Lebanese mother - I wish I had listened and taken in all of my mother’s wisdom - I vote for her as President :)
Grandma needs a TH-cam channel!!!
Hold on, not so fast 😂😂
Yeah sure😁
If you can, bring Grandma Dina on again. She is a wonderful person with a lot of wisdom. I could listen to her for hours. I appreciate you guys and your channel
I like Grandma Dina and her advice! 🥰
I simply demand that grandma Dina gets her own YT channel. I will ask her about absolutely everything!
And I am from Scandinavia , not jewish but need a grandma Dina❤❤
the whole world needs Grandma Dina
What a lovely lady and so wise! Very enjoyable.❤
I don’t know how old this lovely lady is, but we might be about the same age. I agree with her 199% on everything. Everything Grandma Dina said is how I lived my life. “Waste not, want not”. My fathers favorite expression was “All things in moderation. “
my parents & grandparents said the same.
Amen to your dad's quote.."...moderation"
"You think the more you give them, the happier they're gonna be... & it's not so at all"
Represent.
My mother and grandmother were and are very wise woman. I was saved so many heartaches and disappointments by listening to their wisdom.
Care to share any wise advice 😅😊
Can you teach me a thing or two?
as a childcare provider, the point about the toys is SO ACCURATE!! all of the kids i take care of that have a plethora of toys can't even focus on one thing for more than a few minutes, and they don't seem happier for it
I am not Jewish but I am loving this!!
It was like living between two opposites.)
Anyhow, what Gramma D. said: "And they were better off for it!" For the less-distracting number of toys. Etc.
And borrowing? We used to borrow books from each other. I think people still do that.. Or kitchen tools, or ... You have to know your neighbors though. There's less of that now..
God bless the Jews! I'm not a Jew but I appreciate them... and their King saved me.
Facts lol #meetoo
I love that we all agree that we love everything this woman is saying. Dina for president!!
Grandma Dina, I love you!!!!! I want you to be my Grandma!!!!!
She is the grandma we all need. Love her!! Miss my grandparents so much, could listen to this wonderful lady’s advice and wisdom every day! PLEASE give her a channel of her own!!
Grandmas are so wonderful. They have so much knowledge and they give some of the best advice.
Love her, "We don't work in coal mines" lol
I had a Jewish grandmother and she was fantastic!
"Grammy" had a wealth of information and solid advice.
She's been gone for 41 years, but, her words are still very clear, in my mind, today.
Grandma we love you so much! Thank you for the amazing advices from your wealth of wisdom.
I love this lady. Everything she says is pure gold.
Boy!! Is this gra’ma right on the money. Exactly as I was taught by my mother and grandmothers. God bless them! A penny saved is a penny earned👍🏻😃.
If the world had more grandmas like this lady, most of our problems would be solved. God bless her.
No because nobody is listening to old people anymore. The disrespect old people face in modern western society is terrible.
That's a fact. I fear being old in the US more than anything
I kept thinking of what they would say if they were watching this : )
As a New York Italian forced to live in the netherlands I love hearing her accent. It brings me home.
"forced"
We need to hear more from this grandma
I’m Muslim and I love Grandma Dina’s advice 💜 thank you 🙏🏾
Love this episode!
Grandma Dina is a find. She is so down to earth and wise. Way to go Grandma Dina
