Good info. I use Obenaufs LP and oil for my work boots, both are easy to apply and work well. The LP is better for water proofing and the oil is better for hydrating and softening the leather if they need to be broken in. How are you liking your Nicks?
The same thing happens when I use Obenauf's, though water resistance has never been an issue. Bar wax seems like a great way to keep them dry or less damp, but lighter coats of cream wax paired with a water repellent spray might work just as well if not better.
I might actually give that a shot, since I only put the cream wax on my Nick’s, and then I have some water repellent spray from Cobbler’s choice. Or would you recommend something like Grangers?
