Yup... definitely something that singaporeans should be proud of. One of the few buildings in singapore that is not built by foreign workers. Well done.

How about the Engineers (M&E, Civil) and Architects who are instrumental in this project? Maybe CNA can consider making another video to interview these heroes too.
Short handed???? Gov just don't have enough places to isolate 400000 people... no choice let them spread among each other until they start to commit suicide...
Lily Shen Very few foreign workers have died directly from COVID19 yet in SG, because they are mostly young and healthy (which group, statistically, don’t get seriously ill from COVID19). Would you have preferred the government to allow them to continue circulating in the community and spreading the virus to the most vulnerable in our community (which would have made the death toll much higher than 27)? The government had no choice but to quarantine all of them till they had all tested negative for COVID19 before they could be released back into the wider community. That’s why it’s taking so long to clear the dorms (because there are some 300,000 FWs), but this will be accomplished by mid-August. This mass FW quarantine created a shortage of labour for construction, which affected the building of the Covid19 ward mentioned above. In quarantining the FWs, the government took care of all their basic needs (from meals and medical care to salary, wifi and entertainment). But people can kill themselves for reasons which might have nothing to do with being quarantined eg personal issues, etc. It’s unfortunate, but you cannot blame it on the government. They did what they had to do to protect everyone, and not just Singaporeans.
So proud of our Singapore!
