Prof. Carr's excitement when he talks is so engaging and exhilarating that it pulls you in and it makes you want to learn more! I can't get enough of the two of you. There is so much to learn here.

Every Saturday since pandemic times I have been watching from Toronto. As a slave descendant I am always interested History and Dr. Carr is a master griot. Thanks Dr. Karen keep up the good work.
Dr. Carr is a prime example of intellectual brillance...not just black intellectual brillance. I tune in weekly to learn more. Plus, my list of books has grown significantly.
Teacher, teacher! I’m here. Just FYI - since I’ve been learning from you, I’ve created a blog, written 7 articles, finished writing my book, which is going though editing as I type. Thanks for inspiring someone who almost gave up on my dreams. Keep leaving those breadcrumbs. Oh, and I’m also a graduate of Tennessee State University.😀😀😀😀

Thank You Ms. Hunter for your contributions in educating us!! I look forward to your "In Class with Dr. Carr" videos, I look forward to them. Keep up your excellent work...It's reaching more people than you think!!! P.S. I've also watched many more of your videos...Much Love and Respect!!!!
Karen I love, love what you are doing. I'm in class with you and Dr. Carr every week. I love to read but I'm so jealous of Dr. Carr's library. Now at age 70 I will never reach the number of books so I appreciate to be able to listen in and the emmence knowledge I'm gaining. I believe you are never too old to learn....I just have to write everything down now.🤣
I just saw the re-imagining a Fahrenheit 451 last night with Michael B Jordan. The underground rebels in that version memorized whole novels and literary works. It just reminded me of another session with Dr. Carr where he discussed the African history and knowledge keepers who felt that writing history down diminished the mind's capacity and the people's capacity for remembrance and understanding. Doctor Carr himself is a testament to the benefit and capacity of both recording knowledge and carrying it within. And Ms. Hunter, your mind is not too shabby either!

Living Spirit I had vivid dreams of my long gone grandmother, whom I was very close to, decades after she passed (when I was a pre teen). She appeared, still giving me knowledge... In fact... in one of the last clear dreams, she actually aged in the dream ..and I was taller than her - unlike our respective heights when she died. I don't hear her voice anymore, but my life became a living testament to her life
I have ancestral roots to Madagascar, they do rituals to the dead. I remember my grandmother going as I said before, Decoration day (Memorial Day) was our ritual to clean the graves of those who preceded us. I am like Karen, I do not believe they are there, but their spirit is always with us (even alive in the DNA) but it is like doing libations to honor the ancestors. Some people have alters for ancestors. I think it is good to remember what and where you came from. More books thanks.
Hi Karen Hunter. I love the question you posed about burial. As much as to honor the ancestors, I use visiting the gravesites for historical family purposes. I’m able to ask questions about family members that have transitioned before I was born...esp for those family members that did not have children to further that lineage.
This man is a living encyclopedia of knowledge and references. A Brilliant Brother!

I look forward to this every weekend like I used to look forward to Dr Medford’s class when I was at HU
Living Spirit
I had vivid dreams of my long gone grandmother, whom I was very close to,
decades after she passed (when I was a pre teen).
She appeared, still giving me knowledge...
In fact... in one of the last clear dreams, she actually aged in the dream
..and I was taller than her - unlike our respective heights when she died.
