I love your hair! I think we’ve all had a moment when we weren’t feeling our locs/hair but it definitely teaches us to love ourselves regardless of appearance.
Confession… I never paid much attention to loc’s until your video was in my TH-cam list’ I didn’t care much for loc’s until I saw how beautiful your hair is’ just beautiful. Note to myself; pay attention before I say I don’t “care much for” something. God’s best to you always.
Thank you. You can do it. Wear earrings, headbands, put on lipstick or makeup; whatever makes you feel beautiful while your hair is loc’ing. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you this was very inspiring I am doing research now as to which method to DIY my on microlocs since I can not afford $1200-1600 which was quoted in my area even though I have short hair thin hair.
I’m sorry but you are absolutely adorable. I love your hair but most importantly your voice over was hilarious! I love your personality. I just started my braid locs and I’m only on week two but videos like this give me so much inspiration! ❤️
I just saw your video and I am even more excited about my braidlocs journey. After being natural 11 years, I finally decided to loc my hair. I have shared this information with only the few people I trust and active in my life. My starter braidlocs were installed Dec 2, 2020 and my hair looks exactly like yours at the start of your journey. I am embracing that I cannot do any styles at this stage except for buns and I am okay with that. Luckily, I am an introvert that works remote (at home) so I only go out for essential shopping or family emergencies. I figured by the time this pandemic is over, my hair will be thick, luscious, and ready for the world!! Thank you for posting!
Girl! Your hair is gorgeous! I've been thinking about doing my own locs because I want them right now and I can't afford to pay someone to do sisterlocs which is what I really want. I have really thick hair so I'm super excited to see what my hair will look like 1-2-3 years from now!
Just wanted to tell you that I began today only knowing that I was starting my loc journey. I ended today starting my locs this way because of your beautiful mane and this wonderful example. I will keep a log just as you do ! Super proud of you lol 😍
I love seeing your journey. Your hair is absolutely beautiful and I love your calming energy ☺️!!! I just started with braid locs (not micro) and I haven’t seen many videos out with braid locs that are not micro locs. I have 50 braids on very fine hair so I’m hoping my hair will thick up and loc up as well. It seems like your hair loc’d up really fast 🤩
Just wanted to ask how are u doing on your braid locs I did same thing about 60 braids in my hair and I'm two months in ...let me know how u doing thanks
Beautiful! Inspiring! Your hair is gorgeous! Thank you for sharing Questions: please explain braid locs, how long do you leave your braids in for your braid out? Can you talk about maintenance, how often you have to go get the locs rebraided/twisted.
Your hair really does look good in all the clips / pictures ! I think your confidence is what made it work. I love how you say “I didn’t know my hair was so thin” I love this because I tried some self microlocs and immediately disliked the thinness of my hair! Lol but if I could hold tight I know the late results would be awesome. I wish I thought mine looked good in the short, thin stage it’s in lol
Thank you. I'm sure your hair looks great. You can always put on makeup, earrings, or a headband to make yourself feel better. Good luck on your journey. If you have any questions that I can assist with, let me know.
Omg you and your locs are stunning!!!! I just started my loc journey 3 weeks ago and you are an inspiration for not only my locs but for getting back in the gym as well🔥💪🏾🤩
Thank you. I just braided my locs, allowed them to dry, and took them down for my braid out. I have a video in my loc playlist that shows how I do a braid out.
Let me know what questions you have and I’ll do a quick video to answer them. I can’t wait until I can do a live video, so we can have some real conversation. I need more followers before TH-cam will let me do a live video, but I’m working on it.
Wow. Such a Lovely you and your hair. That's an inspiring journey. Thanks for sharing. I'm a newbie and very excited. Looking forward to the years ahead. What was your regimen like when you started?
So beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing!💕 I would love to have my hair in braid locs. I needed to learn more about diy braid locs/braid out.Any advice you provide would be most appreciated 🥰
Thank you so much. I have a loc playlist on this channel as well. Please feel free to review. I answer many questions including how I care for and maintain my hair.
Thank you. I think my locs would be considered small. They were micro when I first installed them, and I didn't like that look on me. I went from 500 to 278.
I love your locs! They are so beautiful and full and I love the shape of the cut. When you do your braid out how long does it take to set style (drying/setting time).
Thank you. Because I hate sleeping with braids or any other type of restricted style in my hair, I use a bonnet hair dryer, and it takes a little under 2 hours to dry completely. I just put on a movie, and the time flies. I don't like walking around with braids in my hair, nor do I like walking around with wet hair.
Hi, your locks are absolutely lovely ! At the beginning did you braid and band to wash your locks? I'm wondering if braiding and banding stop the locks to flourishing more, your locks had an amazing journey. (sorry if I made some mistakes I'm French)
Thank you! Yes, I did braid and band my hair for the first few months. I stopped far to soon and had some bunching on the ends that I had to correct. I’d suggest doing it until you are almost locked. It’s a headache to do, and I hated doing it, but it really helps with the slippage and bunching. I’m doing a video about that topic this week. Good luck on your loc journey.
I love your journey. Thank you for sharing I have a question. You have have answered in a different video. This is the 1st one I'm seeing. I am considering starting my braidloc journey. How do you retighten them and how often? What methods do you use? I've seen the interloc method on braidlocs. I've also see many braidloc videos where many say the formation with braids takes longer. I'm just getting confused at this moment. What do you recommend?
I'm sorry, I'm just seeing this. Braids when braided tightly will last a long time before the pattern goes away. I now interloc using the 3 point rotation every 3 - 4 months. When I was first loc'ed, I interloced ever 4 - 6 weeks depending on how fast my hair grew.
Do you interlock or retwist your locs? While you were going through your loc journey how often did you refresh your roots? I am having such a hard decision with either starting with braids or two strand twists and interlocking. Many who interlock talk about thinning and damaged roots. Any advice will be helpful.
I interloc every 3 - 4 months. I have no issue at all with thinning, but with anything, if you interloc too tight, or twist too tight, you may risk tension alopecia. I like the full look, so I never interlock tightly. If you braid, braid loosely, or you will have that pattern for a long period of time.
Hello. I'm installing my braidlocs today. I want them to look healthy and shiny like yours OMG. Could I ask you for some tips? I know you said you used Paul Mitchell The Conditioner on your starter locs, but 1. How often did you wash and condition your starter locs? 2. What was your daily loc routine (moisturizing etc.) for your starters?
At the beginning of my loc journey, I washed my hair weekly, as I wanted them to loc as soon as possible. I didn’t start to condition until my hair was loc’ed, about 10 months later. Let me know if you have additional questions. As far as my daily routine at the beginning, I just sprayed my hair with water, so my locs could lay flat, and that’s it. I’ll do a video about the beginning stages of my loc journey soon.
@@LivinDivine Thanks so much for taking the time to give me advice. Could you tell me which shampoo that was? Also, do you think switching water out for aloe vera juice is a good idea?
The first couple month (while it was thin), how did you maintain it? How often did you wash and shampoo? Did you join any of your locs during the early stages? I just did mine and its super thin like yours, but your video gave hope lol Thanks for sharing as always
I maintained my hair by interlocking with the 4 point rotation at that time. My hair stayed in braideouts, and headbands were my friend. It gave me a fuller look. I washed weekly to speed up the locing process. I also did combine many of my locs. I started with almost 500 locs, and I ended up with 278 locs after I combined them.
@@LivinDivine Thanks for that. Did you combine the locs yourself? (through interlocking) and how much did you wait to combine them once you started your braidlocs?
@@ClassicalDelight I was about 6 months in when I combined, so my hair was not fully loc'ed yet. Yes, I combined them myself. I just twisted them tightly together, and interloc'ed the roots. They merged into one loc with little effort, as I still had a lot of frizz on my locs.
@@LivinDivine I hope you are still responding 😂. I have just 60 braids and I still feel it’s thin. Although this is my second set of locs and a different method. I do not plan on interlocking cos I don’t like the method. My last set of dreads dreaded just using water and rolling them weekly. So I have this gut feeling that in the long run my locs would look like Johnny bravo. 😂 What do you think?
Hello! Loooove your hair😍 I wanted to ask what do you consider your hair type to be? I have mostly 4a with some 3c near edges and 4b near crown and back of hair and am looking to start my 3rd set of locs and this is the look I'm trying to achieve. Started my 1st 2 sets with back-combed coils, twisted and palm-rolled weekly and they were manicured and tight. I want them smaller and fuller this time. I am trying to decide between comb coils, braids and twists to start them this time and want to keep it as full and fluffy as possible, and with the curly ends. I know you say not to braid too tight so that the hair can fill out and I would like about 250 microlocs as well. Any suggestions on starting method?
Your hair type sounds a lot like mine. The best advice I can give you is to not braid too tight, resist putting products that build up in your locs, and treat your locs with the same care as you would treat your loose natural hair. I'm actually doing a quick video on that.
@@LivinDivine thank you so much for responding!! I'm considering installing locs but I'm really afraid of the weight so this is comforting because my hair isn't very thick. Stay sweet!😘😘😘😘😘
