@@Brianycus Xion’s Data Fight is one of my faves, she forces you to master timing your blocks and reprisals and the vector to the heavens fits really well and sets the tone of fight. Data Zexion is my fave in KH2.
Seriously he knows about Final Mix thing and suddenly forgets that those always expanded on story (especially BBS FM which even added Fragmentary Passage epilogue) - there are no spinoffs or non important DLCs or expanded re-releases - we had 18 years to learn it the hard way.

In SGB's Kingdom Hearts playthrough, it became a running gag that Pooh was the Hundred Acre Wood's evil dictator and that everyone else feared his horrible retribution should they cross him. She was up against monsters. I doubt that at her level she would even be able to land a hit on any of the versions of Xehanort, let alone damage them. It sucks that she didn't get to show her strength, but what could she have even done? Old man Xehanort, who wasn't even the strongest member, was able to counter a keyblade master's ultima spell. What could she have even done? Sora doesn't even scale to Xehanort.

I hear people saying they’ll just watch the cutscenes on TH-cam, but honestly, you don’t even need to do THAT. The only story the game has is at the end, and barely anything of note actually happens. Edit: I should note that the game is actually quite good if you’re into rhythm games (like me), but $60 is still a bit much.
I tried it not so long ago and my depth perception went to the f*cking floor on my first 2 tries, and I love rhythm games! Now I'm even more sad knowing there's not PoTC music... so yeah, it better have DLC.
I gotta wonder though, what would make a rhythm game worth $60? I feel like rhythm games, by default, are seen as lesser than other game genres. But so far, I've been really enjoying the game and have put more time into it than some other AAA games at the same price. So it's not like I can say I regret my purchase.
@@PKGamingOmega I'd say the amount of content is what makes a rhythm game worth $60. This has 140 songs and three tracks for each, local co-op, and offline/online versus; so depending on the opinion it could be worth the $60.
9:30 speaking of missed opportunities we have a game called “Melody of Memories” yet no appearance of Naminé. The girl who originated in Chain of Memories, is Kairi’s nobody, and has the power to alter MEMORIES. When the game was first announced I figured she’d be a big part of the story but... nope. It seems the team pretty much forgot about her after Days
Naminé is such a non entity unfortunately. I really have no idea where she fits into the future of the series. She has no combat skills, no real powers and no wisdom beyond manipulating Sora’s memory and occasionally talking to others through memory. And who knows, now that she’s her own person she might not even have those powers anymore. People say Kairi’s in need of development but if anything it’s Naminé.
@@victorhugocosta1127 Yep in the base game she only had one scene prior to the ending. Which until the Re:Mind update was completely skipable. And unless she’s apart of the “Twilight Town gang” she doesn’t seem to be doing anything to help find Sora.

Like zootopia, the incredibles, heck even Star Wars & Marvel. It’s even possible original worlds like The World That Never Was originated from this other dimension. Not to mention cloud & sephiroth, neku, & the characters from Tron legacy.
My problem is that Final Fantasy has NEVER been represented well in the series. The characters are all bastardized versions of themselves at best, or literally not even the same character at worst (like Seifer and Setzer). Plus, it's really lame how Nomura is so biased towards characters that he designed, with only one or two characters from games other than that. It really feels like we're in the bad timeline when they picked him of all people to direct the FFVII Remake, considering his complete lack of understanding of the franchise...
@@israelgajardo3928 actually I heard that was false. Nomura himself was the one who turned down the idea. Disney didn’t have anything to do with it. In Fact, a KH rhythm game was also proposed to Nomura years ago. But he denied it. It was only in recent years where he finally decided to go along with the idea.
I've been telling people who have no experience with the series that this game is a great primer if they wanna know the bare bones of the story so far. The story's told in a kinda weird way, but it honestly makes it funnier this way too--I was cracking up at the Re:coded recap scene thinking of how much utter nonsense this would sound like to a newcomer.

Dude! You should definitely give remind a shot! You get new combo modifiers, and oathkeeper and oblivion for free. For 30 bucks you get three dlc episodes, one for more story and an explorable Scala, one for 13 harder organization battles, and one for a secret episode! This is definitely a bang for your buck! Try it out sometime!
Oathkeeper and Oblivion is free on a patch,you only have to complete Critical for the latter and complete all the Lucky Emblems for Oathkeeper. The new combo modifiers are also free. But yeah I agree he should play ReMind for those bosses.
Ehh, dunno if I'd say Re:Mind is "bang for your buck" unless you're _really_ into those extra fights. The story is largely just the final act of the game again with some extra tidbits peppered in and Scala isn't much more than another open area filled with enemies and a "find the things" puzzle, the primary value in the DLC comes from it giving the game an actual postgame and that's not something everyone will be interested in, and even those that are interested are facing a pretty hefty price just for that.
I mean, I wish it was all free, but in all honesty, I love this game even the base game. However, I'll admit there are a lot of flaws even with purchasing remind, but I would willingly buy 20 copies of this game and dlc lol
I love rhythm games and I love Kingdom Hearts. I only played the demo for Melody of Memory, and I felt like I had gotten everything I wanted out of a Kingdom Hearts themed rhythm game.

Johnny Nomura has stated not to expect much story in this game to begin with. It's just a recap game with a couple new cutscenes to explain what's going on. All new stuff is saved for the next game onward

While story mode is short there's a ton of things to collect, lots of post game content to play besides replaying the world tour and there's local and online multiplayer. So while there isn't much story there's a lot of content which makes the price pass
Hey Kingdom Hearts fans out there, you guys should make a fan-made Kingdom Hearts CGI-animated spin-off series call: The Kairi And Aqua Adventure Experience that takes place right after the events of Melody Of Memory and the quality of The Kairi And Aqua Adventure Experience needs to be so breath-taking amazing to behold than your typical low-budgeted fan-made projects these days, it'll genuinely make you feel like you're actually watching a official Kingdom Hearts CGI-animated spin-off series made by both Disney and Square Enix themselves!
Of course Kairi can't do anything on her own. The shonen anime hero power fantasy would implode on itself if the love interest(s) had any self-determination outside of gushing about how amazing the perspective insert character is or focusing completely on bringing him back during the arc where the perspective character is absent, because being So Amazing They Won't Stop Talking About You(tm) is part of the fantasy. Even if the love interest is alleged to be as capable a fighter as the lead, she is only allowed a minimum opportunity to show this off and her strength can only otherwise be portrayed as something to be admired by the perspective character and/or an adoring fanbase within the supporting cast. Otherwise the target audience wouldn't feel like their perspective character was the most amazing thing in the world, which is what they're assumed to want by the writers/editors/producters/etc. Never mind that in Kingdom Hearts, Sora went off on an adventure and saved the known multiverse with basically no training to speak of beyond a few play-swordfights with kids around his dinky little tropical island home; they're going to stretch out this "Kairi needs to TRAAAAAAIIIIN first" plotline for as long as they can, and Kairi's entire role is going to be to facilitate the glorious return of Perspective Character(tm) and Cool Shonen Rival Character(tm) as a Dynamic Shonen Duo(tm) while Kairi herself fades back into a demure, smiling, background support role. Mark my words. Bah, well at least we'll always have Aqua. Who may still be kind of lacking in personal agency, but it is still amusing to think that her entire role in Birth By Sleep was cleaning up after the fuck-ups of the other two playable characters because she was the only one with her brain screwed in straight. Still kind of tropey, but a marginally less annoying trope that at least lets me play as a character I like.

You know how the female lead in a shonen anime usually gets "that one battle" before going back to being useless? Think Kaoru from Rurouni Kenshin, or Sakura from Naruto. Like that.

It doesn’t matter that she attacked... whatever the hell that Xehanort was supposed to be. ...but hey, at least she finally learned to let go of her Keyblade and pretty much admitted that she sucks. I am CONVINCED that Nomura has something against her.
Gaps for spoiler warning Honestly, I find that they had Sora literally replacing Kairi absolutely disgusting. If they wanted to show the connection between Sora and Kairi and that Kairi gets her strengh from Sora, they could of had an apperation appear behind her like when Micky was shooting that giant keyhole in KH re-mind DLC, but no, they literally robbed Kairi of a chance to develop as a charicter and face her fears head on And I'm not saying Kairi could beat Xehanort alone. In my scenario she is still relying on support from Sora, just in a much less disrespectful manner. I also think it's worth noting that while Sora did do most of the work, Kairi was able to put up a good fight in Re:mind against goat armour Xehanort, a foe stronger than any other seekers of darkness that the gaurdians of light struggled against. So she can definitely fight pretty well
Pretty sure Nomur stated this isn’t “Kairi’s game”. Yes she’s heavily featured on the box cover but we’re all gonna ignore she’s literally asleep aren’t we? The box covers of Sora on the remakes start with him sitting, standing and then walking to show his progression. Look at the 1.5/2.5/2.8 covers. Kairi is sleeping on this cover which means her powers have yet to awoken. It was pretty obvious Kairi wasn’t suddenly going to beat one of the strongest keyblade masters of all time with little to no training.

It was a nice nod, and a beautiful metaphor that still allowed Kairi to finish the job herself while reminding us that she's not alone. But... right after that Sora just possesses her and does it himself. Great work guys

The game is told in her POV, and the last boss is a manisfestation of HER memories in HER head. I'm pretty sure it qualifies her as a protagonist in this case. Also, nobody expected she would handle Xehanort alone, but what I expected was something more tasteful, like when Mickey beamed the keyhole in Remind. Also, what's the problem with her beating Fake Xehanort? It's just a memory and the series has already bent its rules many times to change outcomes in battles. It could've been a nice character moment for Kairi, regardless of rules broken

This game and the Remind DLC, in a nutshell: Nomura: waaaaaaaaaah!!! I couldn't finish a game after 7 years and they took it away from me!!!! Time to force it into Kingdom Hearts
Pretty much, he's trying to turn KH into Vs 13 2.0 and I hate that, might explain why everyone but Sora got the shaft in KH3 and no charicter development after Sora went missing they threw away several perfect opportunites to actually move forwards with the charicters here and develop their bonds of friendship... I know they said there wouldn't be much story in MoM, but it would of been nIce to have had a cutscene after the recap of each game showing what the chairicters had been up to and how their relationships developed during the year Kairi was asleep, Especially the sea salt and wayfinder trio's who have been seperated apart for so long, I'd of loved to see if they had managed to reconnect and how their friendship developed as they searched for Sora. as well show and expand on their own attempts to find Sora opposed to the fairy god mother just coming in with a Deus ex machina exposition dump at the end about where Sora is and what they need to do. Rendering MDG's trips though the Disney worlds and TVA's trip though the realm of darkness a completly pointless waste of time and sad waste of potental to develop their bonds of friendship and basically kick them out of the plot again... The team should of put more effort into KH3 and ending the series there with MoM acting as a musical journey to round of the series, they should of just dropped the the fortellers, book of prophecies and MoM and kept them relevant to union X and dark road only. And instead just moved on to the FF Vs 13 2.0 they seem to desperately want to make instead instead of trying to turn kingdom hearts into Vs 13 2.0

Not even that, the RPG stuff adds literally nothing. Theatrhythm had not only actual party customization, *the party actually mattered.* The stats weren't worthless because the songs don't involve one-shotting enemies timed to the song, the notes were just *video game notes* that simply did damage to enemies for battle songs. The stats mattered because they did more than keep your HP slightly higher, they damage enemies more and make you find items easier. Items that simply aided you during songs and weren't *SYNTH MATERIALS, WHY.* Character-specific skills are also actually a thing when KH, a game that has Abilities, left them out entirely. Basically, KH MoM took everything about the RPG aspect of TFF and threw it all in the trash.
From what I heard so correct me if I’m wrong. Nomura said there’s two games before KH4. So Melody of Memory is one and the next game will be about Quadratum getting Sora back in time for KH4. I do hope the next game is heavily based on Square material, Final Fantasy and The World Ends with You since KH3 is more Disney than Square
Sadly, KH as a whole has always been more Disney than Square. ....Or, more accurately, more Disney and Nomura's bland OCs than Square. Here's hoping Final Fantasy will actually get its due, soon.

Might not be worth it at full price, but on sale a KH game centered around the music has also been something that seemed like a no brainer to me. The story and characters have, and mostly will be, riffed on by people who like and dislike the games, but the music has almost always been praised. Kinda makes me wonder why Sega hasn’t made a Sonic rhythm game.
They could have given Kairi something resembling a character by showing her perspective on all of these events. A biased interpretation here, a quip there. Nope. She's just there to provide a void that a personality should occupy. Nobodies have nothing on Kairi.
If the next Kingdom Hearts saga does lean more toward the Square side than the Disney side, I'm hoping that Nomura doesn't just limit it to Final Fantasy, or more specifically, Final Fantasy games he personally worked on. Brave Fencer Musashi world, anyone?
kairi just reminds me of Sakura Haruno. so much promise of growth yet ultimately falling flat on its face. such is the writing of shonen female characters.
Let's look at the bright side: at least Kairi didn't chase the one man who clearly wasn't interested in her and instead went with someone who legit show to love her.

@@pascalsimioli6777 Vanitus was slowly getting stronger than her, Vanitus also beat sora in monsteroplis, who would've lost if sully didnt yeet him. she's still one of the strongest keyblade wielders. You also have to factor in that she spent the longest in the dark realm, and didnt even get corrupted till her last week there, Terra wouldn't be able to do that, and niether would rikku or ventus.
I’m hoping for the next Kingdom Hearts game that they add the worlds of Treasure Planet, Atlantis and Brother Bear. I would love to explore Montressor in the Treasure Planet world.

While I did thoroughly enjoy MOM, it straight baffles me how a world specifically based around music failed to be included...is it a legality thing? Something to do with the rights to the compositions? I dunno, but for as amazing a job this game does at including a vast number of pieces of music from across each of the games in the series, I just don't get why nothing from Fantasia was included. Well, almost nothing...at least we got The Mysterious Tower!
Fun fact: if you have a Melody of Memory save on your switch, you get a song for Smash Ultimate’s Hollow Bastion stage from the DLC adding Sora to the game. Literally the only way to get the song.
Yeah... I knew from the start that I wasn't going to get this and jumped straight into youtube for the cutscenes. I did it when I didn't want to get Re:Coded's secret ending, and that was a game I bought and actually enjoyed to some extent.

I love me some edgy animu bullshit, but I personally think these games play it way straighter than they should. @@BobbyTheGamerOfJUSTICE You need to realize that the series is not everyone’s cup of tea and is completely understandable. I didn’t grow up with it, but I don’t mind it to an extent. The gameplay can be lots of fun, depending which game in the series it is (I dropped Re:Chain of Memories due to the chaotic card mechanic.). However, story telling has never been the series’ strongest point. It was only tolerable in the first game. In every other entry afterwards, It can be laughable at times with how series they want us to take it seriously and I can’t get around it - even as an anime fan. If I want good, tolerable story telling, then I’ll just go back to whatever Final Fantasy game to suit my fancy. The way I view KH is that it’s mindless fun when you only there for its gameplay and fan service.
I really hate Kingdom Hearts tendency to only tell significant parts of the story at the beginning and very end of the game. They need to cut that shit out and actually try telling a cohesive story from beginning, Middle and end. Enough with the filler content make gameplay experiences that actually have significance to the overall plot and characters throughout.

Just because a lot of the Disney worlds mainly made us hang out with the Disney characters doesn’t mean there weren’t important moments in them. Toy box for instance young xehanort conducted experiments which resulted in the creation of dark Riku & Xion. Vanitas attempted to fuse with Ven in monstroplis, & its revealed to sora Ven is inside his heart. Corona had us encounter marluxia, who reveals to sora to hurry up in gathering the 7 lights or wise they’d target the new 7 hearts and use them as replacements. The Caribbean Luxord seeks out the black box. & big hero 6 we encounter dark Riku who reveals more about xehanort time Travel plan. You also forget this is a Disney crossover. Of course we’d be hanging out with Disney characters and such.
@@BobbyTheGamerOfJUSTICE Just because they add one piece of information to ever 5-10 hour world doesn't mean the story in that world is actually important. Hanging out with the Disney characters is fine so long as their role is more significant to the story than simply being a recreation of whatever movie they're from. Toy Story was a step in the right direction, with it being an original story, but it's still pretty insignificant especially since the plot points you mentioned are barely given any focus compared to the story of that particular world when they should be one and the same.

One thing that has been brought up by a few channels at times is that Disney is the cause for a lot of the time taken to make the KH games, plus KH3 was 90% a Disney focused game in terms of worlds, so i can see the idea of KH4 being a Square focused adventure.

If Kingdom Hearts is fiction to us, then we would be fiction to people in Kingdom Hearts. To them our world in an unreality. Thereby the place Sora is stuck in is our world, that's why it looks like a real world city.
I don't understand the whole "KH is convoluted" idea that people have been saying for so long. I'd say it's way too simple, honestly, using flashy character designs and visuals to cover up the fact that there's nothing of substance in any of the stories. Basically, it's a combination of all of the most generic shonen anime, in video game form.

While I agree that the game isn’t worth $60, I picked it up at launch and had a blast with it from a start to end. It was a joy hearing all of the music I had grown so attached to. I cheered for Kairi in the story segments because she was being a badass. And as a musically inclined person, this was wonderful from start to end for me. I know it’s not for everyone, but I certainly think it’s worth picking up.
Just letting you know that the secret boss in Remind, even with Ultima, would make you want to die. I'm surprised I've beaten the guy with an almost fully upgraded Kingdom Key.

Xion’s Data Fight is one of my faves, she forces you to master timing your blocks and reprisals and the vector to the heavens fits really well and sets the tone of fight. Data Zexion is my fave in KH2.

She was up against monsters. I doubt that at her level she would even be able to land a hit on any of the versions of Xehanort, let alone damage them. It sucks that she didn't get to show her strength, but what could she have even done? Old man Xehanort, who wasn't even the strongest member, was able to counter a keyblade master's ultima spell. What could she have even done? Sora doesn't even scale to Xehanort.

I hear people saying they’ll just watch the cutscenes on TH-cam, but honestly, you don’t even need to do THAT. The only story the game has is at the end, and barely anything of note actually happens.

But so far, I've been really enjoying the game and have put more time into it than some other AAA games at the same price. So it's not like I can say I regret my purchase.

Naminé is such a non entity unfortunately. I really have no idea where she fits into the future of the series. She has no combat skills, no real powers and no wisdom beyond manipulating Sora’s memory and occasionally talking to others through memory.
And who knows, now that she’s her own person she might not even have those powers anymore.

Like zootopia, the incredibles, heck even Star Wars & Marvel. It’s even possible original worlds like The World That Never Was originated from this other dimension. Not to mention cloud & sephiroth, neku, & the characters from Tron legacy.
My problem is that Final Fantasy has NEVER been represented well in the series. The characters are all bastardized versions of themselves at best, or literally not even the same character at worst (like Seifer and Setzer). Plus, it's really lame how Nomura is so biased towards characters that he designed, with only one or two characters from games other than that. It really feels like we're in the bad timeline when they picked him of all people to direct the FFVII Remake, considering his complete lack of understanding of the franchise...

I've been telling people who have no experience with the series that this game is a great primer if they wanna know the bare bones of the story so far. The story's told in a kinda weird way, but it honestly makes it funnier this way too--I was cracking up at the Re:coded recap scene thinking of how much utter nonsense this would sound like to a newcomer.

Dude! You should definitely give remind a shot! You get new combo modifiers, and oathkeeper and oblivion for free. For 30 bucks you get three dlc episodes, one for more story and an explorable Scala, one for 13 harder organization battles, and one for a secret episode! This is definitely a bang for your buck! Try it out sometime!
Oathkeeper and Oblivion is free on a patch,you only have to complete Critical for the latter and complete all the Lucky Emblems for Oathkeeper. The new combo modifiers are also free. But yeah I agree he should play ReMind for those bosses.
Ehh, dunno if I'd say Re:Mind is "bang for your buck" unless you're _really_ into those extra fights. The story is largely just the final act of the game again with some extra tidbits peppered in and Scala isn't much more than another open area filled with enemies and a "find the things" puzzle, the primary value in the DLC comes from it giving the game an actual postgame and that's not something everyone will be interested in, and even those that are interested are facing a pretty hefty price just for that.

I love rhythm games and I love Kingdom Hearts. I only played the demo for Melody of Memory, and I felt like I had gotten everything I wanted out of a Kingdom Hearts themed rhythm game.

Johnny Nomura has stated not to expect much story in this game to begin with. It's just a recap game with a couple new cutscenes to explain what's going on. All new stuff is saved for the next game onward

While story mode is short there's a ton of things to collect, lots of post game content to play besides replaying the world tour and there's local and online multiplayer. So while there isn't much story there's a lot of content which makes the price pass

Hey Kingdom Hearts fans out there, you guys should make a fan-made Kingdom Hearts CGI-animated spin-off series call: The Kairi And Aqua Adventure Experience that takes place right after the events of Melody Of Memory and the quality of The Kairi And Aqua Adventure Experience needs to be so breath-taking amazing to behold than your typical low-budgeted fan-made projects these days, it'll genuinely make you feel like you're actually watching a official Kingdom Hearts CGI-animated spin-off series made by both Disney and Square Enix themselves!
Of course Kairi can't do anything on her own. The shonen anime hero power fantasy would implode on itself if the love interest(s) had any self-determination outside of gushing about how amazing the perspective insert character is or focusing completely on bringing him back during the arc where the perspective character is absent, because being So Amazing They Won't Stop Talking About You(tm) is part of the fantasy. Even if the love interest is alleged to be as capable a fighter as the lead, she is only allowed a minimum opportunity to show this off and her strength can only otherwise be portrayed as something to be admired by the perspective character and/or an adoring fanbase within the supporting cast. Otherwise the target audience wouldn't feel like their perspective character was the most amazing thing in the world, which is what they're assumed to want by the writers/editors/producters/etc.
Never mind that in Kingdom Hearts, Sora went off on an adventure and saved the known multiverse with basically no training to speak of beyond a few play-swordfights with kids around his dinky little tropical island home; they're going to stretch out this "Kairi needs to TRAAAAAAIIIIN first" plotline for as long as they can, and Kairi's entire role is going to be to facilitate the glorious return of Perspective Character(tm) and Cool Shonen Rival Character(tm) as a Dynamic Shonen Duo(tm) while Kairi herself fades back into a demure, smiling, background support role. Mark my words.
Bah, well at least we'll always have Aqua. Who may still be kind of lacking in personal agency, but it is still amusing to think that her entire role in Birth By Sleep was cleaning up after the fuck-ups of the other two playable characters because she was the only one with her brain screwed in straight. Still kind of tropey, but a marginally less annoying trope that at least lets me play as a character I like.

You know how the female lead in a shonen anime usually gets "that one battle" before going back to being useless? Think Kaoru from Rurouni Kenshin, or Sakura from Naruto. Like that.
And might I add in it's disgusting how they've been baiting us with promises that Kairi will be a fighter since KH 2 and then shafting her every single time, and using the same lie to hype up every new release

Honestly, I find that they had Sora literally replacing Kairi absolutely disgusting. If they wanted to show the connection between Sora and Kairi and that Kairi gets her strengh from Sora, they could of had an apperation appear behind her like when Micky was shooting that giant keyhole in KH re-mind DLC, but no, they literally robbed Kairi of a chance to develop as a charicter and face her fears head on
And I'm not saying Kairi could beat Xehanort alone. In my scenario she is still relying on support from Sora, just in a much less disrespectful manner. I also think it's worth noting that while Sora did do most of the work, Kairi was able to put up a good fight in Re:mind against goat armour Xehanort, a foe stronger than any other seekers of darkness that the gaurdians of light struggled against. So she can definitely fight pretty well
Pretty sure Nomur stated this isn’t “Kairi’s game”. Yes she’s heavily featured on the box cover but we’re all gonna ignore she’s literally asleep aren’t we?
The box covers of Sora on the remakes start with him sitting, standing and then walking to show his progression. Look at the 1.5/2.5/2.8 covers.
Kairi is sleeping on this cover which means her powers have yet to awoken. It was pretty obvious Kairi wasn’t suddenly going to beat one of the strongest keyblade masters of all time with little to no training.

@@Gamelover254 Like it or not, she was the central character in front of every trailer and promotional material. The game is told in her POV, and the last boss is a manisfestation of HER memories in HER head. I'm pretty sure it qualifies her as a protagonist in this case.

Also, what's the problem with her beating Fake Xehanort? It's just a memory and the series has already bent its rules many times to change outcomes in battles. It could've been a nice character moment for Kairi, regardless of rules broken

This game and the Remind DLC, in a nutshell:
Nomura: waaaaaaaaaah!!! I couldn't finish a game after 7 years and they took it away from me!!!! Time to force it into Kingdom Hearts
Pretty much, he's trying to turn KH into Vs 13 2.0 and I hate that, might explain why everyone but Sora got the shaft in KH3 and no charicter development after Sora went missing
they threw away several perfect opportunites to actually move forwards with the charicters here and develop their bonds of friendship...
I know they said there wouldn't be much story in MoM, but it would of been nIce to have had a cutscene after the recap of each game showing what the chairicters had been up to and how their relationships developed during the year Kairi was asleep, Especially the sea salt and wayfinder trio's who have been seperated apart for so long, I'd of loved to see if they had managed to reconnect and how their friendship developed as they searched for Sora. as well show and expand on their own attempts to find Sora opposed to the fairy god mother just coming in with a Deus ex machina exposition dump at the end about where Sora is and what they need to do. Rendering MDG's trips though the Disney worlds and TVA's trip though the realm of darkness a completly pointless waste of time and sad waste of potental to develop their bonds of friendship and basically kick them out of the plot again...
The team should of put more effort into KH3 and ending the series there with MoM acting as a musical journey to round of the series, they should of just dropped the the fortellers, book of prophecies and MoM and kept them relevant to union X and dark road only. And instead just moved on to the FF Vs 13 2.0 they seem to desperately want to make instead instead of trying to turn kingdom hearts into Vs 13 2.0

Honestly, Melody of Memory is a game I've really enjoyed so far, but I feel like they could have done more with it. Like, team customization maybe?
I wish they also had Don't Think Twice from KH3.

Not even that, the RPG stuff adds literally nothing. Theatrhythm had not only actual party customization, *the party actually mattered.* The stats weren't worthless because the songs don't involve one-shotting enemies timed to the song, the notes were just *video game notes* that simply did damage to enemies for battle songs.
The stats mattered because they did more than keep your HP slightly higher, they damage enemies more and make you find items easier. Items that simply aided you during songs and weren't *SYNTH MATERIALS, WHY.* Character-specific skills are also actually a thing when KH, a game that has Abilities, left them out entirely.
Basically, KH MoM took everything about the RPG aspect of TFF and threw it all in the trash.

From what I heard so correct me if I’m wrong. Nomura said there’s two games before KH4. So Melody of Memory is one and the next game will be about Quadratum getting Sora back in time for KH4. I do hope the next game is heavily based on Square material, Final Fantasy and The World Ends with You since KH3 is more Disney than Square
I feel like KH4 will be where we save Sora, while the other game will be an actual Verum Rex.
Sadly, KH as a whole has always been more Disney than Square. ....Or, more accurately, more Disney and Nomura's bland OCs than Square. Here's hoping Final Fantasy will actually get its due, soon.

Thank you Johnny for pointing out Symphony Of Sorcery's omission! While I did thoroughly enjoy MOM, it straight baffles me how a world specifically based around music failed to be included...is it a legality thing? Something to do with the rights to the compositions? I dunno, but for as amazing a job this game does at including a vast number of pieces of music from across each of the games in the series, I just don't get why nothing from Fantasia was included. Well, almost nothing...at least we got The Mysterious Tower!
Fun fact: if you have a Melody of Memory save on your switch, you get a song for Smash Ultimate’s Hollow Bastion stage from the DLC adding Sora to the game. Literally the only way to get the song.
Yeah... I knew from the start that I wasn't going to get this and jumped straight into youtube for the cutscenes. I did it when I didn't want to get Re:Coded's secret ending, and that was a game I bought and actually enjoyed to some extent.

I didn’t grow up with it, but I don’t mind it to an extent. The gameplay can be lots of fun, depending which game in the series it is (I dropped Re:Chain of Memories due to the chaotic card mechanic.). However, story telling has never been the series’ strongest point. It was only tolerable in the first game. In every other entry afterwards, It can be laughable at times with how series they want us to take it seriously and I can’t get around it - even as an anime fan. If I want good, tolerable story telling, then I’ll just go back to whatever Final Fantasy game to suit my fancy. The way I view KH is that it’s mindless fun when you only there for its gameplay and fan service.
I really hate Kingdom Hearts tendency to only tell significant parts of the story at the beginning and very end of the game. They need to cut that shit out and actually try telling a cohesive story from beginning, Middle and end. Enough with the filler content make gameplay experiences that actually have significance to the overall plot and characters throughout.
Melody of Memory here was like the only game that did that though. Don’t act like the Disney worlds and stuff don’t add to the overall plot

Just because a lot of the Disney worlds mainly made us hang out with the Disney characters doesn’t mean there weren’t important moments in them. Toy box for instance young xehanort conducted experiments which resulted in the creation of dark Riku & Xion. Vanitas attempted to fuse with Ven in monstroplis, & its revealed to sora Ven is inside his heart. Corona had us encounter marluxia, who reveals to sora to hurry up in gathering the 7 lights or wise they’d target the new 7 hearts and use them as replacements. The Caribbean Luxord seeks out the black box. & big hero 6 we encounter dark Riku who reveals more about xehanort time Travel plan.
You also forget this is a Disney crossover. Of course we’d be hanging out with Disney characters and such.
@@BobbyTheGamerOfJUSTICE Just because they add one piece of information to ever 5-10 hour world doesn't mean the story in that world is actually important. Hanging out with the Disney characters is fine so long as their role is more significant to the story than simply being a recreation of whatever movie they're from. Toy Story was a step in the right direction, with it being an original story, but it's still pretty insignificant especially since the plot points you mentioned are barely given any focus compared to the story of that particular world when they should be one and the same.

One thing that has been brought up by a few channels at times is that Disney is the cause for a lot of the time taken to make the KH games, plus KH3 was 90% a Disney focused game in terms of worlds, so i can see the idea of KH4 being a Square focused adventure.

I don't understand the whole "KH is convoluted" idea that people have been saying for so long. I'd say it's way too simple, honestly, using flashy character designs and visuals to cover up the fact that there's nothing of substance in any of the stories. Basically, it's a combination of all of the most generic shonen anime, in video game form.

While I agree that the game isn’t worth $60, I picked it up at launch and had a blast with it from a start to end. It was a joy hearing all of the music I had grown so attached to. I cheered for Kairi in the story segments because she was being a badass. And as a musically inclined person, this was wonderful from start to end for me. I know it’s not for everyone, but I certainly think it’s worth picking up.
Just letting you know that the secret boss in Remind, even with Ultima, would make you want to die. I'm surprised I've beaten the guy with an almost fully upgraded Kingdom Key.
